Samsung raised U.S. Galaxy S26-series prices on October 1, 2026. The new reported starting prices are $999 for the Galaxy S26, $1,199 for the S26+ and $1,399 for the S26 Ultra; the 1TB Ultra now costs $1,999. The Galaxy S26 FE was reported unchanged at $699. The increase also reached several international markets, while the reason cited in reporting is sharply higher memory-chip costs and pressure on handset margins.

Why did Samsung raise Galaxy S26 prices?
Reporting connects the increase to the rising cost of memory components and pressure on phone margins. Seoul Economic Daily linked the Korean price increase to sharply higher memory-chip prices and weaker handset profitability. The Asia Business Daily reported that Samsung Electronics’ first-half 2026 mobile-memory price was about 211% above the prior-year average, and that Korean 256GB and 512GB Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra models each rose by 149,600 won from October 1. Did Samsung raise prices outside the U.S.?
Yes. GSMArena checked Samsung stores in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., mainland Europe and India and found higher prices in each market. Local currencies and exact increases vary, so the U.S. dollar figures above should not be applied to other regions. GSMArena’s market check
Should you buy a Galaxy S26 now?
There is no universal answer: the listed price is not always the amount a buyer pays. Trade-in credits, carrier offers and launch or retailer promotions can lower the effective cost, and availability differs by market. Compare the final checkout total for the storage configuration you want—not just the headline starting price—and check that any offer applies to your region, carrier and trade-in device.

- Compare storage carefully: the S26 family has different prices across capacities, and the 1TB Ultra’s reported $200 increase is larger than the standard and Plus models’ $100 increases.
- Put the features against the price: weigh screen size and camera features against how much you will use them; a lower-tier model may be the better value if you do not need the Ultra’s capabilities.
- Check the deal terms: verify trade-in eligibility, bill-credit timing, retailer promotions, warranty coverage and network compatibility before choosing an offer.
- Consider waiting or buying older: waiting may bring a sale, but its timing and discount are not guaranteed. A discounted Galaxy S25 or another older model can cost less, but compare its features, software support and condition with the S26 before deciding.
