The Samsung R95H is a premium 2026 4K Micro RGB television that pairs vivid color and high measured brightness with a useful bright-room feature: Samsung’s Glare Free screen. It is not an automatic OLED upgrade, though. TechRadar’s hands-on review found OLED still better at rendering black in dark scenes and observed blooming on the R95H. At its US launch prices of $3,199.99 to $6,499.99, the R95H makes most sense for buyers prioritizing glare handling, screen size and bright-room impact over OLED’s dark-room black levels.
What the Samsung R95H is
The R95H is Samsung’s 2026 premium 4K Micro RGB TV series, offered in 65, 75 and 85 inches. All three US models have a 3840 × 2160 resolution, advertised 165 Hz refresh rate, variable refresh rate support and Glare Free. Samsung lists Micro RGB AI Engine Pro and Micro RGB HDR Pro for this series. These are manufacturer-listed specifications and feature names, not independent performance findings. Samsung’s R95H product listings identify each size and model number.

Samsung says its Micro RGB implementation uses red, green and blue LEDs under 100 micrometers, and references VDE certification for that claim. The R95H remains a backlit television, which matters when comparing its dark-scene performance with OLED.

How it performs in the picture tests
In its hands-on review published September 20, 2026, TechRadar described the R95H’s picture as vivid and detailed, with rich blacks for a backlit set. The reviewer also noted that OLED retains the advantage in black levels, that very dark scenes can show blooming, and that Movie mode can look overly bright. These are observations from TechRadar’s review sample, not a guarantee for every unit or viewing setup. Read TechRadar’s R95H review.

TechRadar’s sample measurements show why a single brightness number can mislead. In HDR Filmmaker Mode, it measured 1,977 nits on a 10% window and 612 nits with the whole screen illuminated. A small bright highlight and a full-screen image are different test conditions; neither number alone describes every scene or room. The same review measured 94.1% BT.2020 gamut coverage and an SDR Delta-E of 3.7. Those are TechRadar test results, not Samsung specifications.
Samsung R95H vs OLED: which suits your room?
| Priority | R95H Micro RGB | Samsung S95H/S99H OLED in TechRadar’s comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Bright HDR highlights | 1,977 nits on a 10% HDR Filmmaker Mode window, measured by TechRadar in 2026 | 2,739 nits on a 10% HDR Filmmaker Mode window, measured by TechRadar in 2026 |
| Full-screen HDR brightness | 612 nits in HDR Filmmaker Mode, measured by TechRadar in 2026 | 449 nits in HDR Filmmaker Mode, measured by TechRadar in 2026 |
| BT.2020 gamut | 94.1%, TechRadar measurement, 2026 | 89.2%, TechRadar measurement, 2026 |
| SDR Delta-E | 3.7, TechRadar measurement, 2026 | 1.6, TechRadar measurement, 2026 |
| Black levels in dark scenes | TechRadar observed blooming in very dark scenes and said OLED black levels are better | TechRadar’s review identifies OLED as stronger for black levels |
The table combines different picture characteristics, not an overall ranking. The R95H’s larger full-screen brightness result may matter more in a bright room or for bright sports and daytime viewing; OLED’s stronger black-level performance is more relevant in a dark room with shadow-heavy films. TechRadar’s measurements also favor the R95H on its 10% window and gamut result, while the OLED comparison measured lower SDR error. Picture mode, content and room lighting affect what viewers notice.

Samsung advertises Glare Free on the R95H, making it a candidate for rooms where reflections are a concern. The available review findings do not provide a comparable glare measurement against OLED, so treat that as a feature to assess in your own room rather than proof that the R95H always wins in bright conditions.

Samsung advertises refresh rates up to 165 Hz with VRR. Its announcement says 4K at 165 Hz requires compatible PC games and a PC graphics card; results may vary. It should be treated as a supported PC mode, not a promise that every console, game or connection will run at that rate.

TechRadar measured 11.7 ms input lag at 4K/60 Hz and 9.4 ms at 1080p/120 Hz on its R95H sample. In the same review’s table, the Samsung S95H/S99H OLED measured 9.5 ms at 4K/60 Hz. These are results from TechRadar’s test setup; compare only matching resolution and refresh conditions. They do not establish a universal response for every game or configuration.

Samsung’s 2026 US lineup announcement gave these launch prices. They are historical launch prices, not a quote of current checkout pricing; retailer discounts and inventory change. Samsung’s 2026 lineup announcement says the Micro RGB TVs are rolling out on Samsung.com and select retailers, including Best Buy, but does not establish current local stock or delivery terms.

For a buying decision, compare the current price for the exact size and model rather than relying on the launch figure. Check delivery, installation and return terms too, particularly for the largest screen. TechRadar reported price reductions after the July 2026 release, but that review-date observation is not a current offer.

Choosing a size
- 65 inches: The least expensive entry point in the R95H series at launch. Choose it if the room or budget does not justify a larger screen.
- 75 inches: A middle option when you want a larger image but cannot accommodate an 85-inch set. Verify the physical dimensions and viewing distance for your room.
- 85 inches: The largest and most expensive R95H option. Check the wall, stand, doorway and delivery route before ordering.
Smart TV features and support
Samsung describes One UI Tizen as including Samsung TV Plus and Gaming Hub, and says the R95H supports up to seven years of OS updates. The company also lists AI Soccer Mode Pro, which it says recognizes soccer content and tunes color and sound, and AI Sound Controller Pro, which it describes as allowing separate adjustment of voices, music and effects. These are vendor-described features; the announcement does not independently assess their usability or results.

Who should buy the Samsung R95H?
It is a better fit if
- Your TV room is bright or prone to reflections, and Glare Free is a priority.
- You want a large 4K screen with vibrant color and strong backlit-TV contrast.
- You use a compatible gaming PC and value the advertised high-refresh PC mode, after checking that your graphics card and games support it.
Consider OLED or another option if
- You mostly watch in a dark room and prioritize the deepest blacks in films.
- Blooming around bright objects in dark scenes would bother you.
- The R95H’s current price for your preferred size is too high for the benefits you will use.
At this price tier, compare the same screen size across alternatives and check current transaction prices. The R95H has credible strengths in color, measured full-screen brightness and reflection handling, but its observed blooming and OLED’s black-level advantage make room conditions central to the decision.
