Its biggest gaming limitation is the lack of HDMI 2.1 and VRR; the 1080p/120 Hz DLG mode is available only on models 55 inches and larger. The independent review tested the 65-inch version, so findings about other sizes should be read with the stated qualifications below.
What is the Samsung QN70H?
Samsung announced the QN70H in the U.S. as part of its 2026 Neo QLED 4K lineup. Samsung describes the series as using Quantum Mini LEDs and quantum dots. RTINGS places it in the lower-mid-range of Samsung’s standard Mini LED lineup, below the QN80H, and characterizes it as an edge-lit TV. These descriptions come from Samsung and RTINGS, respectively, rather than an independent head-to-head comparison. Samsung’s March 24, 2026 announcement; RTINGS’ QN70H review.

How well does the QN70H work for gaming?
According to RTINGS, the QN70H has no HDMI 2.1 ports and does not support variable refresh rate (VRR). Those omissions matter to buyers seeking the newer console and PC gaming features associated with HDMI 2.1 and VRR. The set’s DLG mode is a narrower option, not a replacement for either feature.

RTINGS reports that DLG can raise the refresh rate to 120 Hz at 1080p on QN70H sizes 55 inches and larger. The 43- and 50-inch versions do not have DLG. This mode is specifically a 1080p option, so do not treat it as 4K/120 Hz capability. RTINGS’ reported results are based on its 65-inch test sample; its size-related notes are not individual tests of all six variants. RTINGS.

Who should consider it?
- Potential fit: a buyer who prioritizes Samsung’s Mini LED and quantum-dot positioning and does not require HDMI 2.1 or VRR.
- Look elsewhere: a buyer whose gaming setup depends on HDMI 2.1 connectivity or variable refresh rate.
- Check the size: even if 1080p/120 Hz DLG matters, it is available only on the 55-, 65-, 75-, and 85-inch models, per RTINGS.
What changes between the six sizes?
Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement listed six screen sizes and their launch prices. These are historical announcement prices, not verified current prices. RTINGS says it tested the 65-inch model and that its results also apply to the 55-, 75-, and 85-inch sizes. It says the 43- and 50-inch models are likely dimmer and lack DLG; the dimness is the reviewer’s inference, not a separately reported test of those smaller sets.

What should you check before buying or mounting one?
- Compare the price for the exact size you want with current listings; the amounts above are launch prices, not live retailer quotes.
- Confirm the model code matches the screen size, particularly when listings use a generic QN70H name.
- If you need DLG, choose a 55-inch or larger model; the 43- and 50-inch versions lack it, according to RTINGS.
- For wall mounting, match the mount to that size’s VESA pattern and verify the mount’s weight capacity and physical fit. The VESA pattern changes across the range, and no particular mount model is established here.
