The Samsung QA65QN90FAWXXY is the Australian 65-inch version of Samsung’s 2025 QN90F Neo QLED 4K TV. Its strongest on-paper case is for a bright room and gaming setup: Samsung lists Glare Free anti-reflection, four HDMI inputs with 4K 165Hz input capability, and VRR. The key qualification is that Samsung Australia specifies a 100Hz native refresh rate, while independent measurements available for the QN90F come from a different regional model—not this exact Australian suffix.

What is the Samsung QA65QN90FAWXXY?

Samsung Australia identifies this model as a 65-inch 2025 Neo QLED 4K Vision AI television. It has a 3840 × 2160 resolution, an NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, Quantum Mini LED Pro backlighting and Quantum Matrix Technology Plus. Samsung also promotes AI upscaling and picture processing; those are manufacturer-described features, not independently established improvements for this exact model. Samsung’s 2025 range announcement includes the QN90F series and a 65-inch size.

This review distinguishes the Australian model’s published specifications from independent QN90F testing conducted on a television with a different regional suffix. Specifications and feature descriptions are from Samsung Australia’s QA65QN90FAWXXY product page and its 2025 TV range announcement.

Is the Samsung QN90F good in a bright room?

Bright-room viewing is a central part of the QN90F’s pitch. Samsung says its Glare Free finish is designed to reduce reflections, describing them as “barely noticeable”. The product page reports UL-verified glare measurements under certificate V166045: reflection glare UGR <10, discomfort glare UGR <22, and disability glare UGR <34. The certificate expiry listed on that page was 31 December 2025, so it should not be described as current certification without confirmation.

Independent coverage also positions the QN90F series as a bright-room alternative to OLED televisions, but it does not establish how this Australian suffix performs in a controlled comparison. Reflection control may help when windows or lights are in view of the screen; it does not mean reflections disappear in every room or that viewing conditions no longer matter. For the independent review’s scope and observations, see Tom’s Guide’s QN90F review.

How fast is the panel, and what does it support for gaming?

Samsung Australia lists a 100Hz native refresh rate and separately states that each of the four HDMI inputs can accept up to 4K at 165Hz. Those figures describe different things: native refresh is the panel’s listed refresh specification, while the HDMI figure is an input capability. Do not read the 165Hz input claim as proof that this Australian model has a 165Hz native panel.

Samsung also lists Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, HGiG and Gaming Hub availability in Australia. This makes the published feature set relevant to a console or PC setup, but the specifications alone do not establish measured response, image quality or compatibility with every device. Samsung’s product page is the source for these Australian-market capabilities.

Tom’s Guide reports 9.5ms input lag for its reviewed QN90F sample in its 2025 review. The sample identified in the review coverage is QN65QN90FAFXZA, not QA65QN90FAWXXY, so that result is useful context about a related regional model, not a measurement of this Australian television.

Does the Samsung QN90F support Dolby Vision?

Samsung Australia lists HDR10+ Adaptive, HDR10+ Gaming and Neo Quantum HDR+ for this model; Dolby Vision is not listed in its specifications. Tom’s Guide’s independent QN90F coverage also notes the format’s absence. If Dolby Vision is a requirement, check the competing TV’s supported formats and confirm that your streaming service, disc player or other source supplies content in the format you want.

What independent picture measurements are available?

Tom’s Guide measured peak brightness of 2,086 nits on its reviewed QN90F sample in its 2025 review. That test concerns the QN65QN90FAFXZA regional model, not the Australian QA65QN90FAWXXY; it should not be treated as an exact-unit result or a guaranteed brightness figure for every viewing mode. The available evidence does not establish equivalent lab measurements for this Australian suffix, so a direct brightness or contrast ranking against other Australian 65-inch TVs is not supported here.

How good is the built-in sound?

Samsung specifies 60W output, 4.2.2 channels, Dolby Atmos, Object Tracking Sound+ (OTS+) and Q-Symphony. These are format and hardware features, not a substitute for an independent assessment of how the speakers sound in your room. Tom’s Guide flags built-in audio as a weakness on its reviewed QN90F sample. If audio quality is a priority, consider whether you would want a separate soundbar; the TV lists HDMI eARC for connection. No particular soundbar has been checked here for compatibility.

Which connections and smart features does it include?

The Australian model’s listed connections and wireless features include:

  • Four HDMI ports, with a stated maximum input capability of 4K 165Hz on each, and HDMI eARC.
  • Two USB-A ports, Ethernet and optical digital audio out.
  • Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3.

It runs Samsung’s Tizen platform and lists AirPlay 2 and built-in Alexa. App availability can vary or change, so verify that any particular streaming service you use is currently supported in Australia rather than assuming it is included.

Will it fit your room or wall?

Samsung lists the television at 1446.3 × 828.7 × 26.9 mm and 24.2 kg without the stand. Its VESA mounting pattern is 400 × 300 mm. Before ordering, measure the furniture or wall space, check that the mount is rated for the television’s weight, and confirm that the wall construction and delivery path are suitable.

Is the Samsung QA65QN90FAWXXY worth buying in Australia?

It is a plausible shortlist choice if you want a 65-inch 4K television with manufacturer-specified reflection control, Mini LED technology and broad gaming input features. The decision is less straightforward if Dolby Vision is essential, you expect a high-end built-in audio experience, or you need independent performance results for this exact Australian model.

No exact Australian price or live stock position is established here. A TechRadar Australian buying guide recorded removing the QN90F on 10 September 2026 because of a lack of stock in Australia at that time; that dated update is not evidence of present-day availability. Check current Australian retailers for the exact QA65QN90FAWXXY suffix, price and stock before deciding.

For comparisons with other 65-inch TVs, use equivalent regional models and test methods, and weigh reflection handling, native refresh versus supported input rates, HDR formats, measured picture performance, audio, Australian app support, current price and actual availability. The available evidence does not justify naming a current price or performance winner.
