What do the refresh rate and HDMI specifications mean for gaming?
Samsung specifies four HDMI inputs, each with a maximum input capability of 4K at 144 Hz, along with eARC. The 2024 Australian retailer specification sheet identifies HDMI 2.1 support up to 144 Hz/FPS. This gives a buyer room to connect multiple high-bandwidth devices without relying on a single high-refresh HDMI port. It does not mean every console or connected device will output 4K at 144 frames per second: source hardware, game settings and signal support determine the available resolution and frame rate. Samsung says a compatible gaming PC is required for 4K 144Hz input.
Samsung also lists Auto Game Mode (ALLM), FreeSync Premium, HGiG, Game Motion Plus and Gaming Hub, with Australia among the markets listed for Gaming Hub. These are published feature claims; the available evidence does not independently verify latency, variable-refresh behaviour or how well each feature performs in practice.
Ports, wireless and audio
The Australian specification sheet lists four HDMI ports, two USB-A ports, one Ethernet port and an optical digital audio output. Wireless specifications are Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2. eARC can carry audio from a compatible TV setup to an eARC-equipped receiver or soundbar; check the audio formats and connections needed by your other equipment.
Samsung lists a 40 W, 2.1-channel speaker system, Dolby Atmos, Object Tracking Sound Lite and Q-Symphony. These published specifications do not establish how the TV sounds in a room, and no soundbar pairing was independently tested. An external audio system is an option rather than a proven necessity for this set.

Mounting dimensions and fit
Samsung specifies a VESA mounting pattern of 300 × 200 mm. Before buying a mount or arranging installation, confirm the mount supports that pattern and the TV’s load, and check that the wall type, fixings, cable clearance and viewing position are suitable.

CHOICE’s displayed A$3,299 price is page information, not a confirmed live offer. Samsung Newsroom Australia listed a 55-inch S90D launch-era recommended price of A$3,837 in 2024.
