Samsung Wallet (the current name used in Samsung’s U.S. support materials for Samsung Pay) works with payment cards from participating U.S. issuers. Which U.S. banks support Samsung Pay?
SamMobile’s list, updated September 25, 2026, names these major U.S. supporters: American Express, Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, Citibank, Discover, PNC, U.S. Bank, and Wells Fargo. The report says more than 100 banks, credit unions, and card providers participate, but that is a secondary-source figure, not an official Samsung count. Its names are examples, not a complete roster or a guarantee that every card from those issuers works.

Samsung says its U.S. financial partners include major banks and card networks such as American Express, Visa, and Mastercard, and that its list of partners is expanding. Its support page does not provide a complete bank-by-bank roster in the accessible page text. Check Samsung’s live supported-banks list for the latest information.
Does Samsung Pay work with your specific card?
Issuer participation and card eligibility are separate questions. Samsung warns that some cards from participating banks may not be supported. A bank may offer eligible credit or debit cards while excluding other products it issues, so a bank name alone cannot confirm whether your card can be added.

For a definitive answer, contact your issuer and ask whether your exact credit or debit card is eligible for Samsung Wallet. Samsung also recommends contacting the bank if you cannot add a card.
Can you add a debit or ATM-only card?
Some debit cards may be eligible, subject to the issuer’s rules. ATM-only cards are not supported as payment cards in Samsung Wallet. Some issuers may also require additional authentication during enrollment.

What to do if your card will not add
- Check Samsung’s supported-banks list to see whether the issuer participates.
- Ask the issuer whether your specific card product is eligible and whether it requires extra authentication.
- Make sure your device has an active internet connection while adding the payment card.
- If the card still fails to add, contact the issuer for card-specific help.
Does device or region compatibility matter?
Yes. Samsung Wallet availability depends on supported devices and regions, as well as issuer and card eligibility. Samsung’s card support guidance addresses checking a card with its issuer; consult Samsung’s current device and regional requirements for your particular setup.

Why won’t my bank card add to Samsung Pay?
Your card may not be eligible even if its issuer participates. ATM-only cards cannot be enrolled as payment cards; an issuer may also require extra authentication. Samsung says an active internet connection is required when adding a payment card.
