Seeing “Samsung One UI Home” in your Google activity usually means the Galaxy launcher was involved in an interaction that Google recorded under your account. It does not, by itself, tell you what happened in that event. One UI Home is Samsung’s launcher, the software that draws the Home and Apps screens on a Galaxy phone or tablet. Whether anything is saved depends on your Google Web & App Activity setting and on what the entry actually contains. The steps below show how to check the entry, how to change the setting, and where Samsung’s own privacy menu fits in.
What One UI Home is
One UI Home is Samsung’s official launcher for Galaxy devices. Its Google Play listing describes it as the launcher that provides the Home and Apps screens. The same listing says the app asks for two optional permissions: storage, which it uses to restore home-screen layout data, and contacts, which it uses to restore contact-widget information. Those permissions explain what the app can read for layout restoration. They do not tell you what a Google activity record means.

Two details about that listing matter for context. Its update date is September 5, 2019, so it describes the app as published at that time rather than its current behavior on every Galaxy model. Its Data safety section shows “No information available,” so it should not be treated as a complete privacy audit of the app.

Why a launcher name can appear in Google activity
Google’s Web & App Activity setting covers activity from some Google services. It can also include additional activity from sites, apps, and devices that use Google services, but only when the inclusion control for that additional activity is turned on. When a Galaxy app that uses Google services is recorded, its name can appear in the account activity list. A name in that list identifies the app or service that generated the record. It is not a verdict on what the app did.

Google’s help documentation says saved records can include details such as language, referrer, whether an app or browser was used, device type, and, in some cases, location information. Not every record carries all of these fields. Open the individual entry to see which details it includes. Do not assume that every One UI Home entry contains location, contact, or browsing data.
Google also distinguishes between account activity and history stored only on the device or in a browser. Deleting or pausing the account setting does not automatically erase history that lives on the phone itself, so check those places separately if you need a full clean-up.

How to review and control the activity
Confirm the account first
Google notes that activity may be saved to the default account used on a browser or device. On a shared Galaxy, or on a phone with several Google accounts, make sure you are looking at the right account before you assume an entry belongs to you or to someone else.

- Open Settings on the phone and tap Google.
- Tap Manage your Google Account.
- Go to the Data & privacy tab and open History settings.
- Select Web & App Activity.
- Review the saved activity, or switch the control off. To stop future saving and also remove past saved activity, choose the option to turn off and delete activity, then follow the confirmation steps shown.
Google’s help page warns that its Search services settings are being updated, so button labels and screen order may differ from the steps above on your account. If the wording does not match, look for the same Web & App Activity control under History settings.

Use Samsung’s Activity controls entry on supported Galaxy devices
Samsung’s support documentation lists a separate route on supported devices:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Security and privacy.
- Tap More privacy settings.
- In the Google section, tap Activity controls.
Samsung states that not all features are available on all devices, and menu names can change with the model and software version. If you do not see this entry, your phone may not expose it, and the Google Account route above is the one that controls the account activity itself.

Samsung privacy settings and Google activity controls are different
Samsung’s privacy menus and Google’s account controls are separate. Samsung’s documentation distinguishes its own privacy settings from Google privacy settings, and it lists Android personalization service on its own, apart from Activity controls. Changing one does not automatically change the other. Use the table to decide where a given task belongs.
| Control | Scope | Main task | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Account, History settings, Web & App Activity | Activity saved to your Google account, including the optional additional activity from sites, apps, and devices when that inclusion control is on | Review entries, pause saving, or turn off and delete saved activity | Documented by Google Account Help for Android; wording is being updated by Google |
| Galaxy Settings, Security and privacy, More privacy settings, Google, Activity controls | Device-level entry that points to Google’s activity controls on supported Galaxy phones | Navigate to Google’s activity controls from the phone’s settings | Supported devices only; Samsung says not all features are available on all devices |
| One UI Home app permissions | Storage for home-screen layout restore and contacts for contact-widget restore, both optional according to the Play listing | Grant or deny the optional permissions in Android app settings | Play listing last updated September 5, 2019; not stated for current versions |
What an activity entry does and does not prove
A One UI Home label tells you which app or launcher generated the record. It does not show the action taken, the data collected, or whether the event was initiated by you. Official documentation does not explain what any specific One UI Home entry means, so avoid drawing conclusions from the name alone. To understand a particular record, open it in My Activity and read its details. If the details still do not match what you expected, compare the entry’s date, device, and account with your own sign-in history before deciding anything.

Keep the claims narrow. Turning off Web & App Activity affects future saving of account activity under Google’s settings. It does not change the permissions you have granted One UI Home, and it does not stop Samsung’s own device features from working in the way they are designed to work.
