Buy the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SD when its local price, warranty and port selection fit your setup. Choose the MSI MPG 271QRX or ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG when you specifically need USB-C charging, a built-in hub or KVM, or a clearer published burn-in warranty. All three are 27-inch-class, 2560×1440 OLED monitors rated for 360 Hz and approximately 0.03 ms response. The evidence does not establish a measured image-quality or motion-performance winner, so the decision should turn on connectivity, stand and desk fit, regional support, price and whether your PC can actually sustain high frame rates at QHD.
There is one naming trap: “Odyssey OLED G6” is treated here as Samsung’s G60SD. Samsung also sells a G60SF rated at 500 Hz and a G61SD rated at 240 Hz. Those are different products, not alternate refresh-rate modes of the G60SD.

What you are comparing
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SD is a 27-inch QHD OLED monitor with a 360 Hz maximum refresh rate, a stated 0.03 ms response time and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro on Samsung’s US product page. The competing models covered here are the MSI MPG 271QRX and ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG. Each uses a 26.5-inch-class QHD QD-OLED panel, is rated for 360 Hz and lists a 0.03 ms GtG response time.

Do not confuse the Samsung variants
Samsung’s G6 name now covers several specifications. The G60SD is the 360 Hz OLED model in this comparison. The G60SF is listed separately at 500 Hz, while the G61SD is listed separately at 240 Hz. Check the complete model suffix on the retailer page, box and monitor label before ordering. A listing that says only “G6” is not specific enough to confirm the panel or refresh rate.

MSI and ASUS state that specifications and availability may vary by market; Samsung’s port list and warranty should likewise be checked for the exact country SKU.
Where the monitors are genuinely different
Samsung G60SD: the straightforward 360 Hz OLED option
The G60SD gives you the essential combination: QHD resolution, OLED contrast, 360 Hz refresh, a stated 0.03 ms response time and FreeSync Premium Pro. It is the sensible choice when you want that core specification without selecting the monitor around USB-C docking or KVM features.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe important qualification is regional detail. Samsung’s US page establishes the headline display specifications, but the comparison material does not establish one universal port configuration or warranty policy for every country. Before paying, open the local Samsung page or retailer specification sheet and confirm the inputs you need, whether a stand adjustment is suitable for your desk and what the local burn-in terms actually say.
MSI MPG 271QRX: strongest fit for USB-C laptop users
The MPG 271QRX is a 26.5-inch QHD QD-OLED monitor rated at 360 Hz and 0.03 ms GtG. Its connection list includes DisplayPort 1.4a, two HDMI 2.1 inputs and USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode with up to 90 W power delivery. That USB-C connection can carry video and charge a compatible laptop over one cable, subject to the laptop’s own charging requirements.
MSI publishes a three-year warranty that includes panel burn-in. That is unusually relevant for an OLED purchase because the protection is stated explicitly rather than left to a general warranty interpretation. Confirm how the policy is administered in your country, including registration, proof-of-purchase and exclusions.

PC Gamer’s buying guide, updated July 28, 2026, selected the MPG 271QRX as its best 1440p OLED monitor. The guide listed $799 and £999 at the time it was written and identified the price as high for a 1440p display and font rendering as a drawback. Those figures are dated guide prices, not a current quotation, and the recommendation is an editorial judgment rather than a controlled comparison with Samsung and ASUS.

The ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG has the same headline class: 2560×1440 QD-OLED, 360 Hz and 0.03 ms GtG. Its published connections include DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, two HDMI 2.1 inputs, USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode with 90 W power delivery and three USB-A hub ports. It also lists a KVM switch.
KVM matters when one keyboard, mouse and monitor need to move between two computers. It can reduce cable swapping, but it does not remove the need to connect each computer correctly to the monitor’s video inputs and USB paths. If you use only one desktop, the KVM and hub may add little value; if you alternate between a desktop and a work laptop, they can be more useful than a small difference in listed specifications.
ASUS also publishes a three-year warranty including panel burn-in. As with MSI, verify the local policy and any conditions before relying on that coverage.
How to decide: a practical buying framework
1. Confirm the exact model before comparing prices
- For Samsung, verify that the listing says G60SD, not G60SF or G61SD.
- For MSI, verify the complete MPG 271QRX model name and the country-specific specification page.
- For ASUS, verify the complete XG27ACDNG designation and local warranty information.
- Record the seller’s return period, dead-pixel policy and the warranty issuer before checkout.
This step prevents a cheaper price from being explained by a different refresh tier, regional bundle or unsupported warranty.

2. Match the monitor to your devices
- One gaming desktop: all three can fit if the graphics card and game can deliver the frame rates you want. Choose by price, support and physical fit.
- Gaming desktop plus USB-C laptop: MSI or ASUS has a documented 90 W USB-C power-delivery feature. Check whether your laptop accepts the required wattage and whether its USB-C port supports DisplayPort video.
- Two computers sharing peripherals: ASUS’s published KVM and USB-A hub are the clearest match. Confirm the KVM’s supported input arrangement in the local manual.
- Console plus PC: MSI and ASUS list two HDMI 2.1 inputs. Confirm the Samsung SKU’s HDMI count and bandwidth locally before choosing it for a console-heavy setup.
3. Check whether your PC can use 360 Hz
360 Hz is the monitor’s ceiling, not a promise that a game will run at 360 frames per second. At 360 Hz, a new refresh occurs every 2.78 milliseconds, but the benefit depends on the game, settings, graphics card, processor and whether the frame rate remains high enough to reach the display’s refresh range.

Use your actual games as the test. Competitive titles that already run at very high frame rates are the strongest reason to pay for 360 Hz. Graphically demanding single-player games may spend much of their time below that ceiling, in which case OLED contrast and image quality can matter more than the final refresh-rate number. None of the cited sources provides a benchmark for a particular GPU or game, so do not treat 360 Hz as a measured performance guarantee.
4. Decide how much you value OLED-specific support
OLED buyers should read the burn-in policy, not just the length of the warranty. MSI and ASUS explicitly include panel burn-in in their published three-year warranties. Samsung UK says burn-in during normal use is covered, with exclusions, while Samsung coverage can differ by country. Obtain the local wording in writing if this point affects your decision.
Regardless of warranty, use the monitor’s supplied panel-care features and avoid assuming that warranty coverage makes static-image precautions unnecessary. The available specifications do not establish a comparative burn-in rate among these three models.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →5. Measure your desk and viewing position
The Samsung is listed as 27 inches, while MSI and ASUS are listed as 26.5-inch-class displays. The diagonal difference is small, but stand depth, height range, swivel, tilt and VESA compatibility can decide whether the screen fits comfortably beside speakers or a second monitor. Compare the local stand dimensions and adjustment ranges rather than assuming that similarly sized panels occupy the same desk area.
Image quality, motion and text: what the specifications do and do not prove
OLED and QD-OLED labels
Samsung identifies the G60SD as OLED; MSI and ASUS identify their panels as QD-OLED. All three therefore target the high-contrast, fast-pixel-response gaming experience associated with OLED technology. The names alone do not establish that one has better color, brightness, HDR or uniformity. Those require controlled measurements or direct viewing under the same conditions, and no such head-to-head measurements are provided here.
Response-time numbers
Samsung lists 0.03 ms, while MSI and ASUS specify 0.03 ms GtG. The different wording means the figures should not be treated as a laboratory ranking. Manufacturer response claims are useful for identifying the product class, but they do not describe every transition at every brightness level or guarantee identical overshoot and motion clarity.

Font rendering
PC Gamer specifically cites poor font rendering as a drawback of the MSI model. That is an editorial observation, not a comparative measurement supplied for all three monitors. If the display will serve for office work as well as games, inspect text at your normal viewing distance and operating-system scaling, and use the retailer’s return policy if possible.

USB-C power delivery
MSI and ASUS publish USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode with 90 W power delivery. This can simplify a laptop setup by combining display output and charging, but the result depends on the laptop, cable and power profile. A laptop that requires more than 90 W may still need its own charger, and a USB-C port without DisplayPort Alt Mode cannot receive video through this feature.
HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort
MSI lists two HDMI 2.1 ports and DisplayPort 1.4a. ASUS lists two HDMI 2.1 ports and DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC. DSC is Display Stream Compression, used to carry high-resolution, high-refresh signals within the link’s bandwidth. The Samsung comparison data does not establish a single port list for every region, so check the exact local product page before planning a multi-input setup.
USB hub and KVM
ASUS lists three USB-A hub ports and a KVM switch. Those features can reduce desk clutter and make a two-computer setup easier to operate. They are less valuable if your peripherals already connect to a separate dock or if the monitor is attached to only one computer. Include the cost of any required USB cables when comparing the total setup.

Prices and stock change by country and date. The only dated prices in the available buying-guide coverage are PC Gamer’s July 28, 2026 figures of $799 and £999 for the MSI MPG 271QRX. They should not be presented as current universal prices, and they do not establish the relative cost of Samsung or ASUS.
Manufacturers state that specifications and availability can vary by market. Samsung reported an 18.8% global revenue share for gaming monitors above 144 Hz in 2025, citing IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Gaming Tracker for Q3 2025. That is a Samsung-reported market statistic, not evidence that the G60SD is better than either competing monitor and not a basis for selecting one model.
Which monitor should each type of buyer choose?
Choose Samsung G60SD if
- You want the 27-inch QHD 360 Hz OLED format and Samsung’s local price is competitive.
- Your setup does not require a documented 90 W USB-C dock or KVM.
- You have confirmed the regional ports, stand specifications and burn-in terms.
- You prefer Samsung’s local service network or return policy after checking the actual conditions.
Choose MSI MPG 271QRX if
- You need USB-C video with up to 90 W power delivery for a compatible laptop.
- You value a published three-year warranty that includes panel burn-in.
- Its HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a layout matches your devices.
- You accept the premium price noted by PC Gamer and have checked whether its font rendering suits your work.
Choose ASUS XG27ACDNG if
- You want USB-C with 90 W power delivery plus a USB-A hub.
- You regularly switch a keyboard and mouse between two computers and can use the KVM.
- You want a published three-year warranty including panel burn-in.
- Its DisplayPort DSC and two HDMI 2.1 inputs fit your planned devices.
Installation and first-use checklist
- Verify the box label: confirm G60SD, MPG 271QRX or XG27ACDNG before opening it.
- Photograph the serial number and receipt: keep them with the local warranty terms, especially for OLED panel claims.
- Use the correct high-bandwidth cable: connect the PC through the monitor’s documented DisplayPort or HDMI input, or use a compatible USB-C DP Alt Mode cable for MSI or ASUS.
- Select the native mode: set 2560×1440 and then select 360 Hz in the operating system or graphics-driver display panel.
- Enable adaptive sync: turn on the monitor and graphics-driver options for FreeSync or compatible variable refresh, then confirm that the active game recognizes the mode.
- Test every device: check each HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, hub and KVM function during the return period rather than assuming the port list guarantees compatibility.
- Check text at your normal distance: read browser and document text at the scaling you actually use; this is especially important if the monitor will double as a work display.
- Record the firmware version: use the monitor’s information menu and apply only updates supported by the exact regional model.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Buying the wrong G6
A G60SF listing at 500 Hz or a G61SD listing at 240 Hz is not the G60SD comparison target. Require the full suffix in the title and specifications.
Assuming every region has the same ports
Do not infer the Samsung port layout from a photograph or another country’s page. Confirm the local SKU. MSI and ASUS also warn that availability and specifications can vary by region.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Paying for 360 Hz that your games cannot use
A high refresh ceiling does not increase a game’s frame rate by itself. Check your normal frame rates and decide whether the competitive advantage, OLED contrast or connectivity justifies the price.
Treating a response-time claim as a complete motion test
0.03 ms claims identify a fast OLED class, but they do not compare every pixel transition, brightness level or overshoot behavior. Avoid declaring a winner from that number alone.
Ignoring the support policy
Burn-in coverage differs by manufacturer and country. Read the exclusions, duration and claim process before purchase, not after a panel problem occurs.
Bottom line
There is no evidence here for a universal winner. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SD is the direct choice for a 27-inch QHD 360 Hz OLED when its local price and support are right. The MSI MPG 271QRX is the better fit for a USB-C laptop workflow and has a clearly stated three-year burn-in warranty; PC Gamer also selected it as its best 1440p OLED in a July 2026 guide, while noting its premium price and font-rendering drawback. The ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG is the most feature-rich option for a multi-device desk because it combines 90 W USB-C, a USB-A hub and KVM with the same headline 360 Hz QHD QD-OLED class.
Compare the exact regional SKU, current price, return policy, warranty language, stand dimensions and your PC’s real frame rates. Those practical details, rather than the shared 360 Hz headline, should determine which one you buy.
