Samsung HBM4 Price Talks: What’s Known About Nvidia and Broadcom

Samsung’s reported 2027 HBM4 quote is in the mid-to-high $4 range per gigabit, but it is not a confirmed contract price—and the latest report does not identify Nvidia or Broadcom as the customers in those talks. Samsung has announced relevant relationships with both companies, yet those announcements do not establish that either is negotiating the reported price.

What Samsung’s reported HBM4 price means

A report published by XenoSpectrum on October 5, 2026, attributing its pricing account to Maeil Business Newspaper’s October 2 report, says Samsung quoted a mid-to-high $4 per gigabit for HBM4 in negotiations over 2027 supply. That is a reported negotiation quote, not a disclosed, signed contract price. The reporting does not name the “major customers” involved or say that they accepted the quote. The same account cites approximately $1.50 per gigabit as the comparison price for mainstream HBM3E. It is not an official Samsung price disclosure. The comparison is between different memory generations, and the unit is gigabit (Gb), not gigabyte (GB). Neither figure establishes a standard price available to every buyer; customer-specific terms and final contract prices are not provided.

Are Nvidia and Broadcom part of these price talks?

The October 2026 price account does not name Nvidia or Broadcom as negotiating customers. Samsung has publicly discussed HBM4 in connection with Nvidia and announced a collaboration with Broadcom that includes planned HBM supply for Broadcom’s next-generation AI accelerators. Those facts establish relevant business relationships, but neither announcement confirms participation in the particular 2027 price negotiations or an agreed price.

Nvidia: collaboration is not proof of this negotiation

In March 2026, Samsung announced it would showcase HBM4 and HBM4E at NVIDIA GTC and described its collaboration with Nvidia. The announcement does not confirm the reported October pricing talks or a finalized HBM4 price. Samsung’s Nvidia GTC announcement.

A December 16, 2025, Seoul Economic Daily report said Samsung’s negotiations with Nvidia over the following year’s HBM4 supply were in their final stages, with specific volumes and prices expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2026. That is a dated report about earlier talks; it does not establish who is negotiating Samsung’s reported 2027 prices in October 2026. Read the December 2025 report.

Broadcom: an MOU, not a disclosed supply-price contract

On July 25, 2026, Samsung and Broadcom announced a memorandum of understanding to expand collaboration across memory and foundry technologies, including planned HBM supply for Broadcom’s next-generation AI accelerators. The announcement does not disclose a finalized HBM4 supply contract or price, and it does not say Broadcom is involved in the reported 2027 negotiations. Read Samsung and Broadcom’s announcement.

Samsung has started shipping HBM4

Samsung said on February 12, 2026, that it had begun mass production of HBM4 and shipped commercial products to customers. The company described these as commercial shipments, but did not identify the customers in that announcement. Read Samsung’s HBM4 production announcement.

Samsung also said it anticipated HBM sales would more than triple in 2026 compared with 2025. That was the company’s outlook, not a reported result showing that sales had already reached that level.

What is confirmed—and what is not

Question What the available reports establish
What is the reported HBM4 price? Mid-to-high $4 per gigabit as a reported quote in 2027 negotiations, attributed to Maeil Business Newspaper by XenoSpectrum; not a confirmed contract price.
What is the HBM3E comparison? Approximately $1.50 per gigabit, cited in the same secondary account; not an official Samsung price disclosure.
Are Nvidia or Broadcom named in the current price report? No. The report refers to unnamed “major customers.”
Has Samsung announced relevant relationships? Yes. Samsung has described its Nvidia collaboration and announced an MOU with Broadcom that includes planned HBM supply for next-generation AI accelerators.
Is a final 2027 price or volume known? No final price, accepted quote, or agreed supply volume is established by the cited current report or company announcements.

The most precise reading is that Samsung is reportedly discussing 2027 HBM4 pricing at a mid-to-high $4-per-gigabit quote, while its ties to Nvidia and Broadcom are independently documented. The available sources do not connect either company to those particular talks or confirm a final deal.
