The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and vivo V80 5G serve different needs: Fold8 opens into a larger 7.6-inch inner display, while V80 is a conventional 6.59-inch phone with a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera. Official India pages do not establish a current, like-for-like price difference, so a numeric gap or value verdict would be misleading.
At a glance: two different kinds of phone
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is a foldable built around an inner screen for viewing and working on a larger panel. The vivo V80 is a conventional slab phone. That form-factor difference matters more to most buyers than a single specification: it affects how much screen is available when reading, viewing documents, multitasking or watching video.

The V80’s listed refresh rate reaches 144 Hz, compared with up to 120 Hz for the Fold8 main display. Refresh-rate figures alone do not establish overall image quality, responsiveness in every app, or battery life.

Does the vivo V80 have a telephoto camera?
Yes. vivo lists a 50 MP OIS telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, alongside a 50 MP OIS main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide. Samsung lists two 50 MP rear cameras and describes optical-quality 2x zoom via adaptive pixel, with digital zoom up to 10x.

These are different camera configurations, not proof that one phone takes better photos. Megapixel counts and zoom labels do not establish image quality; a reliable quality verdict requires comparable testing. The V80’s separate telephoto camera is the clearer fit on paper if a dedicated 3x optical camera is important.

What do the battery and charging specifications show?
vivo lists the V80 at 7200 mAh typical capacity and 7015 mAh rated capacity, with 90 W charging. vivo’s product materials say its 7200 mAh comparison is based on internal research among V-Series phones launched in India as of October 6, 2026; that is a vendor comparison, not an independent industry statistic. Its product page describes reaching 50% in 30 minutes in Fast Charging Mode.
The cited Samsung specification excerpt does not provide a comparable battery or charging figure. These sources therefore do not support a quantified battery-life or charging-speed head-to-head verdict. Battery capacity and a manufacturer’s charging claim are not substitutes for matched-use testing.

What is the price difference in India?
A current numeric price difference cannot be established from the available official India listings. The retrieved Samsung buy-page result and vivo store/catalog results did not provide a usable, matching price pair. Do not infer the gap from an older article, a retailer snippet, a different storage tier or a price in another country.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor a fair comparison, check current India prices for the exact configurations being considered and record the date and seller or official store. Keep temporary offers separate from listed prices. Until that like-for-like check is available, there is no substantiated price-gap or value-for-money conclusion.
