The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and POCO F9 Ultra serve different needs: Samsung’s phone opens into an 8-inch workspace, while POCO’s is a conventional 6.9-inch slab. The available official specifications do not establish a current, like-for-like price difference, so there is no reliable universal answer to how much more one costs. Compare local prices for the same storage tier before deciding.
At a glance: a foldable versus a conventional phone
The biggest practical distinction is the design. Samsung’s Fold8 Ultra has a large inner screen that unfolds for more workspace; the POCO F9 Ultra uses a single, conventional display. That changes how each phone can be used, but the listed screen diagonals alone do not establish which is more comfortable to hold or carry.

Which display suits your use?
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: more room when opened
Samsung describes an 8-inch main display. Its Korea specifications page gives the panel as 203.1 mm diagonally, with 2504 × 2256 resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. The foldable format makes the inner screen the key reason to choose the Samsung: it offers an opened workspace that a single-screen slab does not.

POCO F9 Ultra: one continuous slab display
Xiaomi Indonesia lists a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 185 Hz. The page cautions that the actual viewable area is smaller than the full-rectangle diagonal; measured across that full rectangle, it is about 6.85 inches. The listed refresh rate is higher than Samsung’s listed maximum, but refresh rate alone does not establish overall display quality. Brightness and aspect ratio are not established for a matched comparison here.
How much more does the Samsung cost?
A defensible price difference cannot be calculated from the available official information: it does not give current, matched prices for both phones in one market. Prices can vary by country, storage configuration, taxes, retailer, and promotion. Do not treat an unqualified price gap as universal or compare a discounted offer for one model with a launch price for the other.

For a meaningful comparison, check the current manufacturer or retailer price in your country for the same storage capacity, with taxes and promotion status treated consistently. The Samsung Korea page lists 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB options, while the cited Xiaomi Indonesia page lists a 16 GB RAM/512 GB storage configuration. Those listings do not establish that every configuration is available in every country.

Camera, battery, and performance: what the figures establish
Camera specifications are not a camera-quality verdict
Samsung’s Korea specifications list a 200 MP main camera, 50 MP ultra-wide camera, and 10 MP camera. The supplied POCO specification evidence does not provide a comparable camera configuration, and no head-to-head camera test is established. The megapixel figures therefore cannot support a claim that one phone takes better photos.
Rank #3
Battery and charging evidence is incomplete for a comparison
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh battery and 45 W fast charging. Comparable POCO battery and charging specifications are not established in the cited material, so these numbers cannot show which phone lasts longer or charges faster in practice.
No comparative performance test is established
The specifications here do not provide benchmark results or a controlled performance comparison. A higher refresh-rate listing or an individual component figure is not a substitute for measured performance in the apps and workloads you use.

Availability and configuration vary by market
Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra on August 6, 2026, with sales beginning August 7 in select markets before expanding globally. Samsung said availability would vary by market and include carriers, retailers, Samsung.com, and Samsung Experience Stores. Check local availability rather than assuming a particular configuration or launch date applies where you live.
Before buying either model, verify the exact regional SKU, supported network bands, warranty coverage, storage, and stock with the seller. Samsung Korea lists 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB storage options; Xiaomi Indonesia lists 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage for its POCO F9 Ultra 5G configuration.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra if an 8-inch-class foldable main display and the extra opened workspace are central to how you plan to use your phone, and its local price and warranty suit you.
- Choose the POCO F9 Ultra if you prefer a conventional slab design and the Indonesia-listed 16 GB RAM/512 GB configuration matches what is sold and supported in your market.
- Wait to compare prices if cost is the deciding factor: first obtain current local prices for equivalent storage and account for taxes and promotions.
Neither the available specifications nor the price evidence establishes an overall winner. The more useful choice depends first on whether you want a foldable workspace or a conventional screen, then on the exact regional configuration and price you can actually buy.
