More room on the unfolded display
The extra inner-screen space gives apps and content more room when the phone is open. It is most relevant if you regularly work across multiple apps, read or view content on the large panel, or use Galaxy AI features on the unfolded screen. Screen size alone does not establish how much faster or more productive a particular task will feel; that depends on the apps and workflow.

A wider cover-screen format
The 6.5-inch cover display uses a 21:9 aspect ratio, which Samsung presents as a more conventional phone shape for everyday use. It offers a larger diagonal than the Fold6’s 6.3-inch cover screen, while the phone remains a foldable rather than a standard slab handset. Whether it is comfortable for one-handed use depends on your grip and hand size, not just its diagonal measurement.
How does the larger display affect portability?
Samsung lists the Fold7 at 215 g, measuring 72.8 × 158.4 × 8.9 mm when folded and 143.2 × 158.4 × 4.2 mm when unfolded. The slim folded thickness and weight provide context for carrying a phone with larger screens, but they do not make the opened device pocketable in the same way as a conventional phone. The Fold6 comparison in Samsung’s published material does not provide its weight or thickness, so a direct size-and-weight change cannot be quantified from those figures.

Are the Fold7 displays sharper or smoother?
The Fold7’s inner display is QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X at 2184 × 1968 and 368 ppi; its cover display is FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X at 2520 × 1080 and 422 ppi. Samsung specifies adaptive refresh rates of 1–120 Hz for both displays. These are the Fold7 specifications; the comparison information cited above does not establish the Fold6’s resolution or refresh rate, so the larger diagonals should not be treated as proof of a resolution or refresh-rate upgrade over that model.

Should you choose the Fold7 for its bigger display?
- It may suit you if you want a larger unfolded workspace for multitasking and content, and also value a roomier cover display.
- Consider your priorities if compactness or one-handed use matters more than additional screen space. Try the cover-screen proportions in person if possible.
- Do not decide on diagonal size alone if you are comparing it with the Fold6: weigh display dimensions alongside the Fold7’s 215 g weight and folded thickness, and check current regional pricing and availability separately.
