The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and vivo V70 Elite are aimed at different buyers: the Fold8 opens into a large 7.6-inch display for reading, viewing and multitasking, while the V70 Elite is a conventional phone with a 6.59-inch screen, a higher stated typical battery capacity and 90 W charging. In India, Samsung’s Fold8 launch prices start at ₹179,999; the vivo store listing observed for the V70 Elite was substantially lower, but it is not a same-date, like-for-like price comparison.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 vs vivo V70 Elite: specifications
The most important difference is form factor. The Fold8 is a book-style foldable with an inner screen and a cover display; the V70 Elite is a conventional smartphone. Their processors, batteries and rear-camera arrangements also differ.

How the displays and form factors differ
Fold8: a larger screen when opened
The Fold8’s 7.6-inch inner display is the main reason to consider it. Its unfolded 4:3 aspect ratio gives it a more tablet-like canvas than a typical phone screen, which can suit reading, watching video and working with multiple apps. It also has a cover display for using the phone while folded. Samsung lists both displays on its India product page.
V70 Elite: a conventional phone screen
The V70 Elite’s 6.59-inch AMOLED panel is a single, conventional phone display. It avoids the foldable format and is the simpler choice if you do not need an inner screen. Its listed resolution is 2750 × 1260, according to vivo India.

Performance, battery and charging
The phones use different processors: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the Fold8 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in the V70 Elite. Those model names identify different platforms, but the listed specifications alone do not establish how they compare in sustained speed, gaming or everyday responsiveness.
On stated battery capacity, the V70 Elite has 6,500 mAh typical versus 4,800 mAh typical for the Fold8. vivo lists 90 W charging for its phone; Samsung’s cited Fold8 specifications state up to 26 hours of video playback. These are manufacturer specifications, not a controlled, directly comparable battery-life test. Capacity alone does not determine real-world endurance.

Camera configurations
The Fold8 has two listed rear cameras: a 50 MP wide and a 50 MP ultra-wide. The V70 Elite adds a 50 MP ZEISS OIS main camera and a 50 MP ZEISS night telephoto to its 8 MP ultra-wide. That gives the vivo a more varied listed rear-camera arrangement, including a dedicated telephoto. Megapixel counts and component lists do not, by themselves, prove which phone takes better photos or video.
India price difference and configurations
The available figures use different price bases: Samsung’s are official India launch prices, while vivo’s are official-store listing prices observed at the time of the cited listing. They should not be read as a synchronized live comparison. Samsung’s launch prices are for three storage configurations; the observed vivo prices are for 256 GB models.

At launch, Samsung priced the base 12 GB + 256 GB Fold8 at ₹179,999. A separate report put the V70 Elite’s India launch price at ₹51,999, making the launch-price gap between those base configurations ₹128,000; the V70 Elite figure is reported by 91mobiles. That is a launch-to-launch comparison, not the difference between current retail prices. The later observed vivo store listing of ₹66,999 is for an 8 GB + 256 GB model, so it also differs in RAM configuration from Samsung’s base model.
For a purchase decision, check both manufacturers or retailers on the same day and compare the closest storage and RAM configurations. Prices, offers and availability can change. These figures apply to India and should not be assumed to represent another country’s pricing or local model.
