The Galaxy Z Fold8 and Motorola Signature are different kinds of phones: Samsung’s folds open to a larger inner screen, while Motorola’s Signature is a conventional single-screen handset. Their listed prices also come from different countries, so the available figures do not establish a fair direct price difference.

Price difference: the available figures are not like-for-like
Samsung’s US product page listed the Galaxy Z Fold8 starting at $1,899.99, with trade-in and carrier offers shown separately. Motorola India’s storefront displayed the Signature at ₹59,999 against an MRP of ₹74,999. These are listings from different countries and currencies, and the Motorola figure may reflect a changing offer; subtracting or converting them would not produce a reliable local price difference.

Screen and design: choose the phone category first
Galaxy Z Fold8: a phone that opens into a larger screen
The Fold8 has a cover screen for use while closed and a wider inner display when unfolded. That gives it a larger workspace than a conventional handset, but whether that format is worth paying for depends on how often you want to use the phone opened up.

Motorola Signature: a conventional handset
The Signature has a single 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display and does not fold. It is not one of Motorola’s Razr foldables. Its conventional design avoids the choice between using a cover screen and opening an inner screen; the cited specifications do not provide a comparable Fold8 folded-thickness figure.

Battery and charging
Samsung lists a 4,800mAh battery for the Fold8; Motorola lists a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery for the Signature, along with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. Capacity is not a direct measure of real-world endurance, particularly when the devices have different screen designs and usage patterns.
Motorola Support India states up to 41 hours of battery life and up to 28 hours of continuous video playback for the Signature. Samsung’s US page states up to 26 hours of streaming playback for the Fold8. These are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements, and the different descriptions do not establish a like-for-like battery test.

Quick Recap
Which phone makes more sense?
- Consider the Galaxy Z Fold8 if opening a phone into a larger inner-screen workspace is important to you and you are willing to pay for a foldable design. Samsung’s US page lists it at a $1,899.99 starting price before separately displayed offers.
- Consider the Motorola Signature if you want a conventional handset and value the listed battery capacity, charging rates, or Motorola’s stated up-to-seven-year update commitment. Its India storefront price is not directly comparable with Samsung’s US price.
- Before choosing on value, verify the exact regional model, storage tier, current local price, and warranty terms. Mixed-market price listings cannot tell you which is the better deal in your country.
