The Galaxy Z Fold8 and iQOO 15R are built for different priorities: Samsung’s foldable opens to a 7.6-inch main display, while iQOO’s conventional phone pairs a 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED screen with a 7,600mAh battery and 100W charging. Choose first by form factor, then compare features that matter to you. Their published prices are from different markets, so they do not establish a like-for-like price difference.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 vs iQOO 15R: which is better?
There is no universal winner from the available specifications. The Fold8 suits people who want a phone that unfolds into a larger workspace; the iQOO 15R is a traditional single-screen phone with a notably large stated battery capacity and fast charging. Neither chipset name alone proves which phone is faster in real-world use, and the available sources do not provide matched performance, battery-life, or camera tests.

Display and everyday use
Fold8: a foldable with a larger unfolded workspace
The Fold8 has a 5.5-inch cover screen for use while closed and a 7.6-inch main screen when opened, according to Samsung’s launch information. That makes its defining distinction the ability to switch between a compact outer screen and a larger inner display; it is not simply another conventional phone with a single panel.

iQOO describes the 15R display as a “1.5K 144 Hz AMOLED Eyecare Display.” The 144Hz specification describes the screen’s refresh rate, not a guarantee that every app or game will run at that rate.

Which has better battery life?
The published capacity is larger on the iQOO 15R: 7,600mAh typical (7,440mAh rated), compared with the Fold8’s 4,800mAh typical (4,660mAh rated). Those are not directly comparable battery-life results. Actual endurance depends on factors including display use, software, connectivity, and workload; the official product claims are not independent matched tests. iQOO also lists 100W FlashCharge, while the cited Samsung launch details do not state a charging wattage.
Is the iQOO 15R better for gaming?
The 15R’s listed Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, LPDDR5X Ultra memory, UFS 4.1 storage, and 144Hz display are relevant specifications for gaming. Samsung lists Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the Fold8. The different platform names do not establish a performance winner: no independent, directly comparable benchmark or sustained gaming test is available here. A buyer choosing between them should also consider whether a conventional screen or the Fold8’s larger unfolded display better suits their games.

Which has the better camera?
The cited iQOO product page specifies a 50MP Sony LYT-700V OIS main camera, an 8MP wide-angle camera, and a 32MP selfie camera. The cited Samsung launch source does not establish a complete comparable Fold8 camera specification. Without complete matched specifications and independent sample comparisons, there is not enough evidence to call either phone’s camera better.
Price difference and availability
The available price figures cover different countries and configurations, so subtracting them would produce a misleading comparison.
