For the broadest rear-camera choice and a dedicated 3x optical telephoto lens, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the best hardware match. The Fold8 is a book-style option with two 50 MP rear cameras, while the Flip8 pairs a smaller folded form with Samsung’s FlexCam shooting modes. Those are differences in camera equipment and workflow—not proof that one phone takes better pictures in every situation.

Choose the Fold8 Ultra for optical reach
The Ultra is the clearest fit if you often photograph subjects that are too far away to frame comfortably with a standard wide camera. Samsung lists a dedicated 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization (OIS) on both the main and telephoto cameras in its Germany comparison. Its Canada specifications also list three rear cameras and 3x optical zoom. Check the specifications for the model sold in your market, since regional versions can differ. Samsung’s comparison additionally lists 30x Space Zoom. Treat that as a separate zoom specification rather than an extension of the 3x optical range: a dedicated optical telephoto lens is distinct from higher-magnification digital or computational zoom. The Ultra’s 200 MP main camera gives it the largest listed main-camera resolution of these three, but megapixels alone do not guarantee more detail or better photos.

Choose the Fold8 for a dual-camera book-style foldable
The Fold8 has a 50 MP wide camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, with OIS listed for the main camera in Samsung’s Germany comparison. It suits someone who wants a book-style foldable with wide and ultra-wide framing, but does not need the Ultra’s dedicated telephoto module. Choose the Flip8 for compactness and flexible angles
The Flip8 has a 50 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera in Samsung’s comparison, with OIS listed on the main camera. Its appeal for camera use is not a dedicated telephoto lens; it is the compact Flip form and Samsung’s FlexCam modes, which the company describes as supporting photos and video from flexible angles. That can suit self-recording or shooting when you want to position the folded phone at an angle, but the feature description is Samsung’s, not an independent usability or image-quality test. What the camera specifications do—and do not—tell you
Samsung’s Germany comparison provides further regional details for the Fold8 Ultra: a 200 MP, 1/1.3-inch f/1.7 main camera with autofocus and OIS; a 50 MP, 1/2.52-inch f/1.9 ultra-wide camera with autofocus; and a 10 MP, 1/3.94-inch f/2.4 telephoto camera with autofocus, OIS and 3x optical magnification. Samsung describes Dual Recording as capturing both the action and the user’s reaction, and My FanCam as automatically tracking and reframing a selected subject. These are lineup feature descriptions, not independent tests of tracking accuracy, reframing, audio quality, heat behavior or video quality. Before relying on either for a shoot, confirm that the feature is available on the model and software version sold in your region and try its behavior with your intended subject and movement.
