It switches from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to Samsung’s Exynos 2500, but that change alone does not establish which phone is faster. There is no reliable price difference to calculate from the available official figures: they cover different countries and dates.

Samsung’s official Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Flip6 comparison lists these specifications and notes that models may vary by country. Display sizes are diagonal measurements; rounded corners and cutouts reduce the usable viewing area. Brightness figures are Samsung’s stated peak values, not a guarantee that the entire display stays at that brightness in every situation.

What changes in everyday use?
The cover screen is the clearest upgrade
The cover display grows from 3.4 inches on Flip6 to 4.1 inches on Flip7, while its listed peak brightness rises from 1,600 to 2,600 nits. That gives the Flip7 more screen area for interacting with the phone while it is folded, and a higher stated peak brightness. If you mainly want a compact folded phone for quick at-a-glance use, this is the most visible hardware difference.

The inner display grows modestly
The unfolded main screen measures 6.9 inches on Flip7 and 6.7 inches on Flip6. The difference is smaller than the cover-screen change, so it is less likely to be the deciding factor unless you specifically want the largest display available in this Flip comparison.
The Flip7 is thinner, but not lighter
Folded thickness falls by 1.2 mm, from 14.9 mm to 13.7 mm; unfolded thickness falls by 0.4 mm, from 6.9 mm to 6.5 mm. Weight is nearly unchanged: the Flip7 is listed at 188 g, one gram more than the Flip6’s 187 g. Choose the newer model for its slimmer dimensions, not for a weight reduction.
Battery capacity and video playback claims
The Flip7’s typical battery capacity is 4,300 mAh, compared with 4,000 mAh on Flip6. Samsung’s US comparison estimates up to 31 hours of video playback for Flip7 and up to 23 hours for Flip6. These are manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed runtimes or independent test results. Samsung says battery life depends on factors including network, apps, settings and usage; your results can differ.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 vs Exynos 2500
The Flip6 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, specified at 4 nm; Flip7 uses Samsung’s Exynos 2500, specified at 3 nm. This is a change in processor family and manufacturing process, but those labels by themselves do not show which phone performs better or lasts longer under your workload. The available official specifications do not establish an independent performance winner, so buyers should not treat the chipset swap as proof of a speed or efficiency advantage.
Galaxy Z Flip6 vs Z Flip7 price difference
The official prices available here are not a like-for-like comparison. Samsung UK’s 2024 launch announcement listed the Flip6 at £1,049 for 256GB and £1,149 for 512GB. Samsung US’s price list effective March 2026 gives the unlocked Flip7 an MSRP of $1,099.99 for 256GB and $1,219.99 for 512GB, and says prices are subject to change. The sources cover different markets and dates, so these figures cannot be subtracted to produce a valid price difference.

Choose the Flip7 if
- You want the larger, brighter cover display for folded use.
- You value the slimmer folded and unfolded dimensions.
- You prefer the larger stated battery capacity and Samsung’s higher video-playback estimate, while recognizing that actual endurance varies.
Choose the Flip6 if
- It is meaningfully cheaper than the Flip7 where you are shopping, especially at the same storage capacity.
- The smaller cover display and slightly thicker body suit your preferences.
- You have a specific reason to prefer its Snapdragon processor; the specifications alone do not prove it is faster than the Flip7.
For an upgrade decision, compare local prices for the same storage tier and subtract only a trade-in value or promotion you have verified as currently available. Samsung UK’s Flip6 launch announcement included a preorder trade-in discount and a choice of a case or Samsung Care+, but those were historical UK launch incentives, not evidence of a current offer. Check the manufacturer or retailer for the price and terms applying to your country and purchase date.
