Buy the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra if you want the largest Samsung canvas, a documented S Pen and keyboard-oriented workflow, and the broadest Samsung productivity ecosystem. Choose the Galaxy Tab S12+ when you want the same generation and software approach in a more manageable 12.6-inch size. Consider the OnePlus Pad 3 for its listed Snapdragon 8 Elite platform and 3.4K 144Hz display, or the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus for a 12.7-inch 3K 144Hz LCD with an optional keyboard connection.
There is no defensible overall performance or value winner from the available manufacturer information. Your decision should be based on screen technology and size, accessory costs, software ecosystem, local configuration and price, and return-policy terms.

What the Galaxy Tab S12 lineup is
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S12 family on September 30, 2026. The lineup described for the United States contains two models: the 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the 12.6-inch Galaxy Tab S12+. Samsung’s U.S. product information lists availability from October 7, 2026. Release timing, configurations, promotions and stock can differ in other countries, so a date shown for the U.S. should not be treated as a worldwide launch date.

The two tablets target different physical priorities rather than entirely different audiences. The Ultra gives you more working area for split-screen documents, drawing and a desktop-like layout. The S12+ keeps the same generation’s Samsung software and accessory concept while reducing the footprint you must carry and place on a desk. The right choice starts with how much screen you can use comfortably, not with the model number alone.

| Tablet | Display information established by the manufacturer | Performance information established | Productivity and accessories | What is not established here |

| Galaxy Tab S12+ | 12.6 inches; part of the S12 series described with Dynamic AMOLED 2X | No independent cross-device ranking established | Shares the S12 productivity and S Pen-oriented software direction; confirm the exact keyboard bundle for your region | Comparable price, battery testing, accessory contents and configuration availability |
| OnePlus Pad 3 | 3.4K, 144Hz display | Snapdragon 8 Elite platform listed by OnePlus | Confirm whether a keyboard or stylus is optional, included or unavailable in your local bundle | Real-world speed relative to either Samsung, battery testing, local pricing and stock |

The table deliberately separates a manufacturer’s specification or positioning from an independently measured result. A higher refresh rate on paper, for example, does not by itself prove that every application will feel faster than on another tablet.
Choose by screen size and panel type first
Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra: maximum workspace
The Ultra’s 14.6-inch panel is the largest option in this comparison. That extra area is useful when you keep a document, browser and notes visible at the same time, annotate a large canvas, or use the tablet as a portable presentation and media screen. It also gives handwriting and sketching more room before you need to zoom or pan.
The trade-off is physical bulk. A larger tablet takes more room in a bag, needs a wider support surface and is less convenient to hold one-handed for long reading sessions. If most of your use is portrait reading, casual browsing or travel, measure your normal workspace before paying for the additional area.
Galaxy Tab S12+: a smaller Samsung canvas
At 12.6 inches, the S12+ remains a large tablet but is easier to place on a small desk or carry between meetings. It can still support split-screen work and handwritten notes, while reducing the reach required to tap controls near the opposite edge. The choice is sensible when you want Samsung’s ecosystem but know that the Ultra’s 14.6-inch format would spend much of its time in a bag.

OnePlus Pad 3: high-refresh LCD specification
OnePlus lists a 3.4K display with a 144Hz refresh rate for the Pad 3. A high refresh rate can make supported scrolling, animations and pen movement appear smoother, while the stated 3.4K resolution is aimed at a detailed large-screen image. The available information identifies the panel specification but does not establish color accuracy, brightness, outdoor readability or battery impact in a controlled comparison.
Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus: 12.7-inch LCD alternative
Lenovo lists a 12.7-inch 3K LCD running at 144Hz. It is close in physical size to the S12+ but uses an LCD rather than the Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology described for Samsung’s S12 series. LCD and AMOLED can produce different contrast, black-level and viewing experiences, but the listed specifications alone do not tell you which panel you will prefer. Look at the tablets in person if display character matters more than ecosystem features.
Performance: what can and cannot be concluded
Samsung describes the S12 Ultra as having the most powerful performance of any Galaxy Tab to date. That is Samsung’s own positioning, not an independently verified ranking. Samsung also publishes performance-uplift claims comparing the S12 Ultra with the S11 Ultra. Percentages in a company comparison should be read as the manufacturer’s claims under its stated conditions; they are not a substitute for a test that runs the same applications, settings and workloads on all four tablets.

OnePlus identifies the Pad 3’s platform as Snapdragon 8 Elite. That gives buyers a named processor platform to consider, but a chip name alone does not establish sustained performance, thermal behavior, graphics results or application compatibility against the Samsung models. Lenovo’s available product information establishes the Yoga Tab Plus display and keyboard connection, not a cross-device performance result.

For demanding work, compare the exact memory and storage configuration sold in your country, the applications you actually use and the return period offered by the seller. A tablet that opens your required apps reliably and keeps enough storage free can be a better work machine than one with a stronger specification that lacks your preferred software or accessories.
Productivity, S Pen and keyboard workflows
Samsung’s integrated approach
Samsung positions the S12 family around research, notes, creation, Galaxy AI and S Pen use. The announcement also describes S12 keyboard accessories. This combination is the clearest reason to choose Samsung: the tablet is presented as part of a connected productivity workflow rather than only as a screen and processor.
Before ordering, verify whether an S Pen is included with the exact model and market package, whether the keyboard is bundled or sold separately, and which keyboard layout you will receive. “Keyboard accessory” in a product announcement does not guarantee that every retail configuration includes it. Check the model number, package contents and return terms on the regional product page or retailer listing.
OnePlus Pad 3 accessory check
The Pad 3 can be attractive when a smooth 144Hz display and Snapdragon platform are your priorities. The available information does not establish a universal keyboard or stylus bundle. Confirm accessory availability, compatibility and pricing in your country before treating it as a laptop replacement. Include the accessory cost in the comparison rather than comparing tablet-only prices.

Lenovo’s optional keyboard connection
Lenovo lists an optional keyboard connection for the Yoga Tab Plus. That makes a detachable or connected typing setup possible, but “optional” means you must verify what ships in your region and whether the keyboard is sold with the tablet, as a separate package or through a promotion. Ask the seller for the exact contents if the keyboard is essential to your purchase.
How the four choices fit common buyers
For a large research or office workspace
Start with the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra if your work benefits from the largest available screen and Samsung’s documented S Pen, notes and keyboard-oriented workflow. The 14.6-inch area is the strongest fit for persistent split-screen layouts. Choose the S12+ instead when you need the same general Samsung approach but frequently carry the tablet or work in tighter spaces.
For smooth scrolling and animation
The OnePlus Pad 3 and Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus have explicitly listed 144Hz displays. If refresh rate is your leading requirement, compare those two specifications with the applications you use and the panel qualities you can see locally. The available Samsung information in this comparison does not establish a directly comparable refresh-rate figure, so do not infer one.

The S12 Ultra and S12+ are the natural candidates when your notes, accessories and tablet habits already revolve around Samsung’s software and Galaxy AI features. Ecosystem continuity can reduce setup friction and make a familiar workflow more valuable than a specification advantage you will rarely notice.

For a 12-to-13-inch high-refresh LCD
The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus combines a 12.7-inch size with a listed 3K 144Hz LCD and an optional keyboard connection. It is worth considering when those exact traits match your desk and entertainment needs. Confirm the local accessory package and price before deciding that it offers better value than the S12+.
For the named Snapdragon platform
The OnePlus Pad 3 is the only alternative here whose manufacturer information explicitly names Snapdragon 8 Elite. Consider it when that platform, the 3.4K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate align with your priorities. The evidence does not support saying it is faster overall than either Samsung tablet without controlled testing.

- Measure your normal workspace. Compare the reach and desk area needed for a 14.6-inch tablet, a 12.6-inch tablet and a 12.7-inch tablet. Include the keyboard and any protective case you plan to use.
- Decide whether AMOLED or LCD matters. Samsung’s series materials describe Dynamic AMOLED 2X; OnePlus and Lenovo list high-resolution LCD specifications. Consider contrast, reflections and viewing conditions rather than resolution alone.
- Write down your required accessories. List a pen, keyboard, charging equipment and case. Mark each item as included, optional or not stated for the exact local SKU.
- Match your applications. Check the Android applications, file formats, cloud services and peripherals required for school or work. Do this before using processor specifications as a tie-breaker.
- Compare complete package prices. Use the same storage and memory class where possible, then add the keyboard, pen and case. Prices and bundles were not established on a comparable basis here, and regional promotions can change the result.
- Check availability and returns. Samsung lists October 7, 2026 availability for the U.S. S12 pages. Other regions may differ. Confirm current stock, delivery date, warranty coverage and the return window for every model.
- Test the size if you can. Hold the tablet in portrait and landscape, type on the intended keyboard, and open the split-screen layouts you actually use. A specification sheet cannot reveal whether the largest model is comfortable for your hands.
Costs, configurations and regional availability
No comparable current price table is established for these tablets. Prices, storage and memory combinations, cellular or Wi-Fi options, keyboard bundles and promotional gifts vary by market and retailer. Do not use a U.S. launch offer as a worldwide price, and do not compare a tablet-only price with a rival package that includes a keyboard.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor the S12 family, Samsung’s U.S. information lists availability from October 7, 2026. The announcement date is September 30, 2026. If you are outside the United States, use the local Samsung page to confirm release timing and exact model names. For the OnePlus Pad 3 and Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus, check each manufacturer’s local page and an authorized seller for stock and bundle contents.
Important limitations before you decide
- No independent benchmark winner: Samsung’s performance language and OnePlus’s processor listing are manufacturer information, not a controlled comparison.
- No comparable battery result: Battery endurance, charging behavior and thermal performance were not established across the four tablets.
- No universal accessory bundle: Keyboard and pen inclusion can change by region, storage tier or promotion.
- No complete software-support comparison: The available product information does not establish support timelines for all named tablets.
- No reliable street-price ranking: Local currency, tax, storage and launch promotions can make the least expensive tablet differ from one market to another.
Which one should you buy?
Buy the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra when
- You will actively use the 14.6-inch workspace for split-screen research, creation or presentations.
- You want Samsung’s documented S Pen, Galaxy AI and keyboard-oriented productivity direction.
- You accept the larger footprint and have confirmed the complete accessory cost.
Buy the Galaxy Tab S12+ when
- You prefer Samsung’s software and accessories but do not need the Ultra’s largest canvas.
- You carry the tablet often or work at smaller desks.
- The local S12+ configuration gives you the storage and accessory package you need.
Consider the OnePlus Pad 3 when
- A listed 3.4K 144Hz display is more important to you than Samsung’s AMOLED and ecosystem approach.
- You specifically want the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform.
- You have confirmed local keyboard, stylus, storage, price and return-policy details.
Consider the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus when
- A 12.7-inch 3K 144Hz LCD fits your preferred size and viewing style.
- You want the option of a connected keyboard.
- The local bundle and price make sense after adding required accessories.
The most defensible default for a Samsung-focused buyer is the S12+; it preserves the S12 family’s workflow without committing everyone to the Ultra’s 14.6-inch size. The Ultra is the better fit when screen area itself is the reason you are buying a premium tablet. The OnePlus and Lenovo alternatives become compelling when their explicitly listed display and platform traits match your priorities and their complete local packages cost less for the work you need to do.
