There is no standard Galaxy Tab S12 in Samsung’s announced lineup: the Galaxy Tab S12 series consists of the 12.6-inch Tab S12+ and 14.6-inch Tab S12 Ultra. The standard Galaxy Tab S11 is 11 inches, so the S12+ is the closest size comparison—but it is still a substantially larger tablet. Choose the S11 if you want an 11-inch device; consider the S12+ if you want a newer, larger screen and its local price works for you.
Samsung says the S12 series became available in the US on October 7, 2026. Availability may differ by market.

Is there a Galaxy Tab S12?
Samsung’s announced Galaxy Tab S12 lineup has two models: the Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra. Samsung’s cited lineup does not identify a base model called simply the Galaxy Tab S12. If you mean the smaller S12-series tablet, the relevant model is the S12+—but it is not an 11-inch successor to the standard S11.
Samsung’s US product page says the series became available October 7, 2026. That is US availability information, not a guarantee of stock or release timing in every country. See Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S12 series page for its current US listing.

Galaxy Tab S11 vs. Tab S12+: What changes?
The most useful confirmed comparison is screen size. Samsung lists the standard Tab S11 at 11 inches and the S12+ at 12.6 inches. Those diagonal measurements establish that the S12+ offers a larger viewing area, but do not make the tablets otherwise equivalent.
| Model | Screen size | What the comparison tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Tab S11 | 11 inches | The compact option among these models. Samsung’s 2026 interim report lists its resolution as 2560 × 1600 and Wi-Fi weight as 469 g; confirm the exact regional SKU before relying on configuration details. |
| Galaxy Tab S12+ | 12.6 inches | A larger-screen S12-series option, not a same-size replacement for the standard S11. |
| Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra | 14.6 inches | The largest model in the announced S12 series; it is a different size tier rather than the closest match to an 11-inch tablet. |
Display sizes are from Samsung’s US S12 product information and Samsung’s 2026 First Quarter Interim Report. The S11 report also lists Android 16 / One UI 8.0 as its software platform.
What do Samsung’s S12 performance figures mean?
Samsung says the S12 Ultra delivers up to 61% faster NPU processing, 19% faster CPU performance, and 17% improved GPU power compared with the S11 Ultra. These are Samsung’s published claims for the Ultra models, not independent benchmark results. They do not establish how the standard S11 compares with the S12+.

Samsung’s S12 series announcement is the source for those figures. Because the comparison is Ultra versus Ultra, it should not be used to promise the same gains when moving from a standard S11 to an S12+.

Choose the Galaxy Tab S11 if an 11-inch tablet is the priority
The standard S11 is the choice in this comparison for someone who specifically wants an 11-inch screen. Its published Wi-Fi weight is 469 g in Samsung’s 2026 interim report, but check your local model’s configuration before using that figure to compare variants.
Consider the Galaxy Tab S12+ if you want a larger screen
The 12.6-inch S12+ makes more sense if a larger display is the main reason to move to the S12 generation. Before buying, compare the actual local prices and available configurations for the S11 and S12+; a reliable price advantage or equivalent configuration cannot be established here.

Look at the S12 Ultra only if you want the largest size tier
At 14.6 inches, the S12 Ultra is the largest S12 model. Samsung’s performance claims apply to this Ultra model versus the S11 Ultra, not to the S11-versus-S12+ decision.

The cited official information does not establish a direct standard S11-versus-S12+ benchmark, current transaction prices, battery-life comparisons, accessory inclusions, support duration, or hands-on results. Those details can vary by retailer, market, and configuration, so check the exact model and current local listing before purchasing. Do not assume an accessory made for an S11 Ultra fits the standard S11 or S12+; compatibility depends on the precise model.
