Yes, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE accepts a microSD card and supports an S Pen. This distinction matters because “external display support” can mean three different things: sending video through a cable, extending or mirroring the screen wirelessly, or opening Samsung’s DeX desktop interface. Samsung’s published compatibility statements address the first and third categories clearly, but do not establish ordinary wireless mirroring for this exact tablet.

microSD support and the capacity limit
The card slot is a supported expansion option
Samsung’s product specifications identify microSD as external storage for the Galaxy Tab S10 FE. You can therefore add removable capacity for photos, downloaded videos, documents, music and other files without replacing the tablet’s internal storage. The card is an expansion medium, not a way to increase the tablet’s built-in memory or processing performance.
The 5G model’s specification shows a configuration of SIM 1, embedded SIM and microSD. That arrangement indicates that cellular connectivity and a memory card are designed to coexist on that variant. Wi-Fi-only and cellular models can have different trays and regional model numbers, so inspect the specification for the exact model you intend to buy rather than assuming every physical layout is identical.

Why Samsung lists both 1.5TB and 2TB
Samsung’s own pages do not give one universal number. The US support article for the Tab S10 FE series lists support for microSD cards up to 1.5TB. Samsung’s US product specification and its UK product specification each list external microSD storage up to 2TB. The US support page was available roughly five months before October 13, 2026, while the US and UK specification pages were crawled within the month before that date.

The difference may reflect regional documentation or model details. It is not evidence that every Tab S10 FE accepts every 2TB card. Before purchasing a high-capacity card, open the Samsung product page for your country, compare the model number printed on the tablet or box, and follow the limit stated for that combination. If you cannot confirm a 2TB limit, choosing a card at or below the 1.5TB figure avoids relying on the more generous listing.
Installing and checking a card
- Power the tablet down before opening the card tray. Use the supplied eject tool and place the microSD card in the tray in the orientation shown by the tray markings.
- Close the tray completely, then start the tablet. A notification should identify the newly inserted storage.
- Open Settings and look for Device care (called Battery and device care on some One UI releases), then choose Storage. The card should appear separately from internal storage.
- Format the card in the tablet only if it is new or you have backed up its contents. Formatting erases everything on it.
- In apps that support removable storage, select the card as the download or save location. Android does not automatically move every app or system file to a microSD card.
If the card is not detected, turn the tablet off, reseat the card and check whether the tray is fully closed. Test the card in another compatible device if possible. A card that works elsewhere but not in the tablet may exceed the model’s documented capacity, use a damaged file system or be counterfeit. Back up important files before reformatting; formatting is a diagnostic step, not a recovery method.

What the included S Pen can and cannot do
What is included
The Tab S10 FE supports Samsung’s S Pen, and the tablet package includes an FE S Pen according to Samsung’s product information. Samsung describes it as an input tool for writing, drawing and navigation. You can tap buttons, scroll, annotate documents and create handwritten notes without buying a separate stylus.
The bundled pen is not a Bluetooth accessory. Samsung’s support information specifies that the FE S Pen supplied with the tablet has no BLE support. Consequently, it does not pair with the tablet in Bluetooth settings, does not have a charging workflow and cannot trigger Air actions.
Features you should not expect from the bundled pen
- No Bluetooth pairing: there is no BLE radio in the included FE S Pen.
- No pen charging: it does not need to be charged, and the tablet cannot recharge it as a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen.
- No Air actions: remote camera shutter, presentation controls and other gesture-based commands are unavailable with this pen.
- No battery percentage: because the pen has no wireless electronics or battery, there is no charge level to display.
These limitations do not prevent normal handwriting or drawing. They only remove the remote and wireless functions associated with higher-end S Pens.

What about an S Pen Pro?
Samsung notes that Air actions are supported with the separately sold S Pen Pro. That is an optional accessory, not a feature of the pen included with the Tab S10 FE. If you are buying a replacement or an additional stylus, read the listing carefully and confirm compatibility with the Tab S10 FE. Do not assume that any S Pen-shaped accessory provides BLE functions, and do not treat the S Pen Pro as part of the tablet package.

For ordinary use, simply touch the pen tip to the screen; no Bluetooth setup is required. If strokes become intermittent, inspect the tip for damage, remove any thick or poorly fitted screen protector and restart the tablet. A replacement pen should be identified specifically as compatible with the Tab S10 FE. A generic capacitive stylus can imitate finger taps, but it will not necessarily provide the pressure response, palm rejection or precision expected from an S Pen.
External monitors, HDMI and DeX
HDMI output is not supported
Samsung Support states: “The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and S10 FE+ are not compatible with Wireless DeX or HDMI output.” A separate Samsung DeX support page also excludes the Tab S10 FE series from HDMI output. This means the USB-C port should not be treated as a video-output port for a monitor, television, projector or capture device.

A USB-C-to-HDMI cable, dock or adapter cannot add a video signal that the tablet does not provide. Such accessories may offer charging or USB data functions when compatible, but they are not a solution for displaying the Tab S10 FE on an HDMI screen. Buying an adapter specifically for wired video is therefore likely to end in a blank display or an unsupported-connection message.
Wireless DeX is also excluded
Wireless DeX is Samsung’s method of presenting a desktop-like DeX session on a compatible external display without a cable. Samsung’s compatibility lists exclude the Tab S10 FE series from that feature. A television that supports DeX with another Galaxy device does not change the tablet’s limitation.
DeX still works on the tablet itself
The absence of external output does not mean DeX is absent altogether. Samsung describes DeX as a desktop-like interface, and the Tab S10 FE can run that interface on its own screen. You can use resizable windows, a taskbar and keyboard-and-mouse-style controls on the tablet display, but the session remains on the tablet rather than moving to a monitor.

Do not confuse screen mirroring with Wireless DeX
Standard wireless screen mirroring and Wireless DeX are different technologies. Samsung’s general Smart View instructions explain how mirroring works on supported Galaxy products, but the available model-specific material does not confirm that ordinary mirroring works on the Tab S10 FE. Do not infer support from a Smart View help page written for Galaxy devices generally, and do not describe unverified mirroring as an alternative to HDMI or Wireless DeX.
If a large-screen presentation is essential, obtain written confirmation for your exact model and region before buying. Look for a model-specific manual or support statement rather than relying on an accessory seller’s claim that the USB-C port is “video capable.”

Expanding a small internal-storage configuration
A microSD card is the appropriate solution for carrying more media and documents. Keep active applications and files that need the fastest access in internal storage, and use the card for items you can back up or replace. Because Samsung’s capacity statements conflict, verify the card limit before committing to a 2TB purchase.

The included FE S Pen covers pen input without pairing or charging. It is suitable when your priority is writing, sketching, annotating PDFs or navigating the interface. If you specifically need remote controls or Air actions, budget for a compatible S Pen Pro and verify support before purchase.
Office work on a bigger screen
The Tab S10 FE is not a substitute for a desktop dock that outputs HDMI. DeX on the tablet can provide a desktop-style workspace, but a monitor, projector or television cannot be assumed to work through USB-C, an HDMI adapter or Wireless DeX. For a fixed external-screen setup, choose hardware whose specifications explicitly include the required output standard.
Buyer and setup checklist
- Record the exact model number and sales region before ordering a microSD card or stylus.
- Use the 1.5TB figure as the safe ceiling when your model-specific documentation does not state 2TB.
- Confirm that the package includes the FE S Pen if a retailer sells a regional bundle or open-box unit.
- Expect handwriting and drawing, but not Bluetooth pairing, charging or Air actions from the included pen.
- Do not purchase a USB-C-to-HDMI adapter expecting video output.
- Do not assume Wireless DeX works because another Galaxy tablet or phone supports it.
- Treat ordinary wireless mirroring as unconfirmed until Samsung documents it for your exact variant.
Bottom line for each feature
For storage, the answer is yes: the Tab S10 FE has microSD support, but Samsung’s published ceiling varies between 1.5TB and 2TB by page and region. For pen input, the answer is yes: an FE S Pen is included and handles writing, drawing and navigation; it is not a Bluetooth or Air-action pen. For an external display, the answer is no for HDMI output and Wireless DeX. DeX remains available on the tablet’s own screen, while ordinary wireless screen mirroring is not confirmed by the model-specific information available.
