Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteSamsung’s Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra are existing 2024 tablets, not upcoming devices: Samsung announced them on September 27, 2024, and began availability in select markets on October 3. Both use MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9300+ processor and support Samsung’s Galaxy AI features. The practical choice is mainly about size: the 12.4-inch S10+ is easier to carry, while the 14.6-inch Ultra gives multitasking and creative work a much larger canvas. Some AI functions need an account, an internet connection, or supported language settings, and the keyboard with an AI Key is optional. Samsung’s announcement
What Samsung announced—and what the AI label means
The premium Galaxy Tab S10 launch consisted of the Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra; Samsung did not announce a standard-size Tab S10 as part of that launch. Wi-Fi and 5G configurations and available colors vary by market. Samsung positioned the pair as its first tablets designed specifically around Galaxy AI. They launched with Android 14 and One UI 6.1.1, according to Samsung’s 2025 first-quarter interim report.

Galaxy AI is a collection of software functions—not a promise that every generative-AI task runs on the tablet or works offline. Features such as note assistance, image generation from sketches, search, and translation are layered on top of the tablet hardware and Samsung’s services. The processor’s AI capability is relevant, but feature availability also depends on software, accounts, network access, language, and region.
Why Samsung’s MediaTek choice matters
Both models use the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, a flagship-class mobile processor. MediaTek describes its platform as supporting generative-AI workloads through an integrated NPU and its NeuroPilot software capabilities. That makes “MediaTek” an incomplete basis for judging the tablets: the chip is not a low-end part simply because it is not branded Snapdragon. Actual experience also depends on Samsung’s software optimization, power limits, cooling, display workload, and the apps being used. MediaTek’s Tab S10 overview and its Dimensity 9300+ announcement describe the chip’s AI capabilities.
#1 Best Overall
- INNOVATIVE ART POWER: Turn your simple sketches into works of art instantly using Sketch to Image¹ with Galaxy AI.²
- SEARCHING MADE EASY: Quickly search for just about anything you see on your Tab — all without switching apps — using Circle to Search with Google.³
- MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT: Capture your lecture, meeting, or daily notes and let Note Assist⁴ with Galaxy AI² do the hard work of organizing and even summarizing them for you.
- NEXT-LEVEL NOTE TAKING: Get transcripts and summaries of recorded lectures and meetings, just like that.⁵
- PACKED WITH POWER: No matter what you take on or where you take your Galaxy Tab S10+, enjoy every experience with a powerful tablet processor.
For Samsung, choosing MediaTek for both premium models also diversifies its processor sourcing. That may offer component-cost or supply-chain flexibility, but Samsung has not identified that as the reason for the decision. The buyer-facing question is whether the tablet performs well in the intended tasks—not which chipmaker’s name is on the spec sheet.
What Galaxy AI can do on the Tab S10
Note Assist and recording summaries
Note Assist can help format, summarize, and translate notes. Samsung also presents transcription and meeting or lecture workflows as uses for the tablet. These tools can help turn handwritten or recorded material into something easier to review, but they are not a substitute for checking a transcript or summary against the original. Samsung warns that AI output can be inaccurate. Network access, a Samsung Account, language support, and regional availability can affect whether particular functions work. Samsung’s Canadian product listing describes service limitations, including language and account requirements.
Drawing Assist and Sketch to Image
Drawing Assist can transform a rough sketch into a generated or altered image. It is a playful ideation tool rather than a guarantee of precise illustration: Samsung says network access and a Samsung Account are required, and it does not guarantee accuracy or reliability. Saved generated images may be resized and carry a visible AI watermark. Details are in Samsung’s Galaxy AI support information.
Circle to Search
Circle to Search lets you select something visible on screen to search for it without first leaving the app. It is a Google/Samsung software feature, not a unique capability of the Dimensity processor. Availability can depend on software and service support. Samsung’s support page outlines supported Galaxy AI features.
Translation and writing tools
Samsung promotes translation from different parts of the interface and AI-assisted writing or formatting. Support varies by language, country, app, and software version, so buyers who rely on a particular language or workflow should check Samsung’s current regional feature information rather than assume every tool is available in every configuration.
Accounts, connections, and fees
Samsung says its basic Galaxy AI features are free, subject to its terms; that is not a guarantee that every present or future AI service is free. Enhanced Samsung features and third-party services can have different terms or fees. Google Gemini and other services have their own availability and subscription conditions. Some Samsung tools require a Samsung Account or network connection, so “AI tablet” should not be read as “all AI works offline.”
Tab S10+ versus Tab S10 Ultra
The two tablets share the Dimensity 9300+ and the same broad Galaxy AI feature family. Their main difference is ergonomics and workspace, not a different processor tier.

Performance, productivity, and the limits of the claims
The Dimensity 9300+ and the large AMOLED screens suit ordinary premium-tablet workloads such as web research, document editing, video, handwritten notes, PDF annotation, drawing, photo editing, multitasking, and gaming. Samsung DeX provides a more desktop-like interface, but Android apps remain Android apps: people who need specific Windows or macOS desktop software should not assume a tablet will replace that computer.
Samsung reports performance gains over the previous generation, but these are manufacturer comparisons, not independent benchmark results. For the Tab S10 Ultra versus the Tab S9 Ultra, Samsung claims 18% higher CPU, 28% higher GPU, and 14% higher NPU performance. For the Tab S10+ versus the Tab S9+, Samsung’s Mobile Press figures are 16% CPU, 27% GPU, and 13% NPU. The figures refer to different model comparisons and should not be combined into one generic improvement claim. Samsung’s U.S. announcement and Samsung Mobile Press provide the respective figures.
Samsung also lists IP68 water and dust resistance, Armor Aluminum construction, 45W fast-charging compatibility, and microSD expansion. These are useful practical details, but the large battery capacities do not establish a fixed runtime: brightness, refresh rate, gaming, wireless connection, DeX, and AI use all affect battery life. Samsung’s support specifications cover the resistance rating and charging compatibility.

The tablet prices are from Samsung’s March 2025 U.S. tablet price file; the keyboard prices are from its September 2025 accessory price file. The S Pen is included, but keyboards are separate purchases. An optional keyboard’s AI Key is a physical shortcut on specified keyboard models, not a button on the tablet itself. Buyers who mainly read, stream, browse, or take occasional notes may get better value from a stand cover or a keyboard they already own. Samsung lists its tablet accessory family separately.
Which model makes sense for which buyer?
Choose the Tab S10+ for everyday portability
- You want a premium AMOLED tablet with the same processor and core AI toolset as the Ultra.
- You take notes, annotate PDFs, travel, or use a tablet in handheld situations.
- You value a large screen but do not need the Ultra’s 14.6-inch work surface.
Choose the Tab S10 Ultra for maximum workspace
- You routinely split the screen between apps, work with large documents or spreadsheets, or draw on a broad canvas.
- You plan to use DeX with an optional keyboard as a laptop-like setup.
- You value the larger battery and the higher memory/storage configuration options, and accept the extra bulk.
Look elsewhere if your priority is different
- For a compact entertainment tablet, the Ultra is unnecessarily large and the S10+ may still be more tablet than you need.
- For Windows desktop applications, a Windows 2-in-1 such as a Microsoft Surface Pro is the more natural category to compare.
- For iPadOS and Apple’s tablet app ecosystem, compare with iPad Pro; it is a different fit for someone who depends on DeX, microSD expansion, or Samsung-device integration.
- If you want Samsung’s newest generation and the longest remaining support horizon, compare current models on Samsung’s tablet comparison page before buying this 2024 generation.
What to check when a feature or accessory does not work
- An AI function is missing: check that the tablet software is up to date, sign in to the required Samsung Account, confirm network access, and verify regional and language availability.
- A recording will not summarize: verify connection status, supported language, and any applicable length or country restrictions for that feature.
- A sketch result is unexpected: generated results are not guaranteed to be accurate; Samsung may resize saved output and add an AI watermark.
- The AI Key does nothing: confirm the keyboard is one of the specified Book Cover Keyboard models with the key; the tablet alone does not include it.
- You are checking software support: Samsung Canada lists October 31, 2031 as the security-update-valid-until date for its specific Tab S10+ Wi-Fi model listing. That regional SKU date should not be treated as a universal date for every S10+ or Ultra variant. Check the support page for the exact model and region.
MediaTek’s NPU capabilities do not establish that every Galaxy AI request is processed locally. Treat generated or summarized material as assistance to review, not as authoritative output, especially for consequential decisions.
