What the released Fold8 Ultra offers
A large inner screen for work and media
The defining difference is the Fold8 Ultra’s foldable format: its 8-inch main display opens into a larger workspace than its 6.5-inch cover screen. Samsung positions the device for productivity and content creation. That describes the manufacturer’s intended use, not a guarantee that every app or workflow will benefit equally.

Published hardware, not a direct performance verdict
Samsung’s specifications establish the Fold8 Ultra’s processor, camera resolution, battery capacity, weight, and charging support. They do not establish how it performs against the S27 Ultra, whose specifications are not confirmed. TechRadar additionally lists 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM, Android 17 with One UI 9, and 20 W wireless charging in its review specifications; those details are from the review publisher rather than Samsung’s cited core product specifications. Price: a reported rumor, not an MSRP
Tom’s Guide reported on October 1, 2026, that a rumor pointed to a possible $1,400 US starting price. Its report says the originating rumor concerned South Korea and cautions that it may not predict pricing in other regions. Samsung has not announced an S27 Ultra price in the cited sources. Weight and thickness: leaked figures
The reported 218 g weight and 7.9 mm thickness came from a September 30, 2026 leak relayed by Tom’s Guide. They are not official specifications and could change or prove inaccurate. The available reporting does not establish an official S27 display, processor, camera system, battery, storage, or release date. Tom’s Guide
Can you calculate the price difference?
Not as a confirmed comparison. The Fold8 Ultra’s reported US launch price is $2,099.99, while $1,400 is an unconfirmed S27 Ultra rumor. Subtracting them would mix a reported launch price with a rumored estimate; it would not establish Samsung’s actual price gap. The UK and Australian Fold launch prices also cannot be compared with a US S27 rumor.

For a meaningful comparison once Samsung announces the S27 Ultra, match the same country, storage tier, and pricing basis—launch price against launch price, or current offers against current offers. Retail prices and availability can change.

Which phone makes sense for you?
Consider the Fold8 Ultra if the foldable workspace matters now
- You want a phone that opens into an 8-inch display for tasks that benefit from a larger screen.
- You are choosing among a released device’s published specifications and launch-market availability.
- You have checked the current price for your country and chosen storage tier rather than treating launch pricing as today’s offer.
Wait for official S27 Ultra details if a conventional flagship is your target
- You do not need to buy before Samsung confirms the S27 Ultra’s specifications, price, and availability.
- You want to compare camera hardware, display, battery, storage, and performance using confirmed information rather than leaks.
- You need a reliable price comparison for your market; the rumored US price does not answer that question.
Samsung’s July 22, 2026 announcement describes the Fold8 Ultra as bringing its “renowned Ultra standard to foldables,” with a larger workspace, upgraded camera system, and performance aimed at demanding creative workflows.
