The 2026 Galaxy S26 range splits into three clear hardware tiers. The standard Galaxy S26 is the smallest and easiest to handle, the Galaxy S26+ adds a larger, sharper screen and a bigger battery, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the camera-and-productivity flagship with the largest display and built-in S Pen support. All three use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with adaptive refresh rates up to 120 Hz, but their screen sizes, resolutions, cameras, charging limits and storage choices are different enough to change which one makes sense for you.
This comparison uses Samsung’s published specifications. Battery capacities are typical laboratory figures rather than guarantees of runtime, and processor, memory, storage and availability can vary by country, carrier and device configuration.

Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra at a glance
| Model | Display | Rear cameras | Typical battery | Maximum wired charging | S Pen |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 | 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, up to 120 Hz | 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultra-wide, 10 MP 3x telephoto | 4,300 mAh | 25 W | No |
| Galaxy S26+ | 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, up to 120 Hz | 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultra-wide, 10 MP 3x telephoto | 4,900 mAh | 45 W | No |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, up to 120 Hz | 200 MP wide, 50 MP ultra-wide, 50 MP 5x telephoto, 10 MP 3x telephoto | 5,000 mAh | 60 W | Yes |
Samsung’s diagonal measurements include the rounded corners; the usable area is slightly smaller because of those corners and the camera opening. The S26 and S26+ share the same listed rear-camera arrangement, while the Ultra adds substantially higher-resolution sensors and a second long-range telephoto camera.

Size and screen resolution
The Galaxy S26 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ screen. It is the sensible starting point if you want a premium phone that remains relatively compact in a pocket or one hand. The Galaxy S26+ stretches to 6.7 inches and increases resolution to QHD+, giving you more room for reading, maps, video and split-screen apps. The S26 Ultra is larger again at 6.9 inches and also uses QHD+ resolution.

- FIT EVERYONE IN THE SHOT: Group selfies are easier on your Samsung phone with a wider front camera⁴ that captures more of the scene, so no one gets left out of the moment
All three displays are Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with adaptive refresh rates up to 120 Hz. That means scrolling and supported games can look fluid, while the refresh rate can adjust to reduce power use when a high rate is unnecessary. The difference is not panel technology but the amount of physical space and pixel density you get. Choose the S26 for manageability, the S26+ for a large screen without moving to the Ultra camera system, and the Ultra when the biggest canvas is itself a priority.
Camera hardware
The S26 and S26+ use the same listed cameras: a 50 MP wide camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Moving from the standard model to the Plus therefore does not buy you a different rear-camera system.
The S26 Ultra is the hardware step-up. Its rear array includes a 200 MP wide camera, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, a 50 MP 5x telephoto and a 10 MP 3x telephoto. The extra telephoto camera gives the Ultra a dedicated 5x optical perspective as well as the shorter 3x optical option. The larger sensor counts also provide more capture and cropping flexibility on paper, although image quality in a particular scene depends on software processing, lighting, focus and how you hold the phone.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

The 3x and 5x distances are optical zoom. The 2x and 10x settings are optical-quality zoom enabled by the Adaptive Pixel sensor, rather than additional optical lenses.

Battery capacity and charging
Samsung lists typical capacities of 4,300 mAh for S26, 4,900 mAh for S26+ and 5,000 mAh for S26 Ultra. The Plus therefore has a 600 mAh higher listed capacity than the standard phone, while the Ultra is only 100 mAh above the Plus. Capacity alone does not predict how long a phone lasts: screen brightness, refresh-rate behavior, cellular reception, camera use, gaming, navigation and software settings all affect your result. Samsung identifies these as typical values based on laboratory testing, not a promised number of hours.
The charging ceiling rises more sharply across the range. S26 supports up to 25 W wired charging, S26+ up to 45 W and Ultra up to 60 W. Samsung states that the power adapter is sold separately. A charger with a higher wattage rating does not guarantee a specific charging time; the phone, cable, charger protocol, temperature and battery level all matter. Match the adapter to the model’s charging limit and confirm compatibility before buying.
S Pen support
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the only model in this comparison with S Pen support. Samsung says the S26 and S26+ do not support S Pen functionality. The Ultra’s included pen is designed for writing, marking up documents, sketching and precise taps without carrying a separate stylus.

Samsung’s US support information says the S26 Ultra pen lacks Bluetooth Low Energy and Air Actions. In practical terms, it is a direct-input stylus rather than a Bluetooth remote with gesture controls. If remote shutter actions or other Air Actions are part of your buying decision, account for that limitation.

Galaxy S26: the compact choice
Who should choose it
Choose the standard S26 when one-handed use and a smaller footprint matter more than maximum screen area. It retains the same broad camera layout as the S26+, a 120 Hz-capable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and the core Galaxy S experience, while avoiding the size and weight associated with the larger models.
What you give up
The trade-offs are its 6.3-inch FHD+ panel, 4,300 mAh typical battery and 25 W charging ceiling. The camera hardware is not the Ultra’s high-resolution system, and there is no S Pen support. If you regularly edit documents, watch long videos, play games with touch controls or use split-screen apps, the smaller display may feel restrictive compared with the Plus or Ultra.
Galaxy S26+: the big-screen middle option
Why it exists
The S26+ is for buyers who want a visibly larger, sharper screen and more battery capacity without stepping up to the Ultra’s camera and pen features. Its 6.7-inch QHD+ panel gives text, photos and video more room than the S26, and its 4,900 mAh typical battery is the second-largest in the range.

The Plus does not add a different rear-camera arrangement. Samsung lists the same 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultra-wide and 10 MP 3x telephoto cameras as on the standard S26. It also lacks S Pen functionality. You are paying for the larger display, higher resolution, larger battery and faster 45 W charging ceiling, not for Ultra-level imaging.

Galaxy S26 Ultra: the feature-maxed model
Reasons to buy
The Ultra is the right fit if you specifically need the most extensive camera hardware, the largest screen, S Pen input or the broadest storage configuration. Its 6.9-inch QHD+ display is the largest here. The 200 MP main camera, 50 MP ultra-wide and dual telephoto setup cover more focal lengths than the other two models, including a dedicated 5x optical camera.
The Ultra also has the highest listed wired-charging ceiling at 60 W and a 5,000 mAh typical battery. That battery is only slightly larger than the Plus’s, so its appeal should come from the complete feature set rather than an assumption that it will always last dramatically longer.
Important pen and zoom qualifications
The S Pen is integrated into the Ultra, but the US support description says this generation’s pen has no BLE or Air Actions. For zoom, 3x and 5x are optical settings; 2x and 10x are optical-quality modes produced with the Adaptive Pixel sensor. Those distinctions matter when comparing specifications or setting expectations for distant subjects.
Processors, storage and regional differences
Chipset availability is market-dependent
Samsung’s Global Newsroom lists Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy for the Ultra and Snapdragon or Exynos options for the S26 and S26+. Samsung’s Germany comparison lists Snapdragon for the Ultra and Exynos 2600 for the S26 and S26+. The company also warns that processor type can vary by device and market. Do not assume every country receives the same chipset; check the exact local model number before ordering.

Storage options
Samsung lists 256 GB and 512 GB configurations for the S26 and S26+. The Ultra can be configured with up to 1 TB, with memory options dependent on market. Storage availability can also differ by carrier and country. Samsung’s US comparison says these phones do not support external microSD cards, so choose enough internal storage for your photos, 4K video, downloads and offline maps at purchase.
Software-support promise
Samsung states that the Galaxy S26 receives seven years of security updates. That is a published support policy, not an independently measured performance result. Update timing and feature availability can still vary by region, carrier and software version.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which Galaxy S26 model should you buy?
Pick the S26 if
- You want the smallest phone in the family.
- FHD+ resolution is sufficient for your viewing distance and daily apps.
- You are satisfied with the shared S26/S26+ camera system.
- You would rather carry a lighter, more compact device than gain screen area.
Pick the S26+ if
- You want a 6.7-inch QHD+ display for reading, video or multitasking.
- You value a higher listed battery capacity and 45 W charging.
- You do not need the Ultra’s 200 MP camera, 5x telephoto or S Pen.
- You want the larger form factor without moving to the largest model.
Pick the S26 Ultra if
- You need the most versatile camera hardware, especially a dedicated 5x optical telephoto.
- You want the largest QHD+ display.
- You will actually use the integrated S Pen.
- You need an Ultra storage configuration, including the market-dependent 1 TB option.
- You prefer the highest listed wired-charging ceiling in this range.
How to compare local offers before buying
- Confirm the exact model and region. Check the model number, processor, RAM and storage on the local listing rather than relying on a global specification page.
- Check the included accessories. Samsung says the power adapter is sold separately, so include a compatible USB-C charger and cable in your budget.
- Match storage to your use. Because external microSD storage is not supported in Samsung’s US comparison, select internal capacity before checkout.
- Compare current prices for the same configuration. Official specifications do not establish street prices, launch promotions or carrier trade-in values. Compare like-for-like storage, warranty and regional versions.
- Verify support terms. Confirm that Samsung’s stated seven-year security-update policy and any service coverage apply to the country and device you are purchasing.
Common buying mistakes
- Assuming Plus means better cameras. The S26+ shares the listed rear-camera arrangement with the S26; its upgrades are screen size and resolution, battery capacity and charging speed.
- Treating battery capacity as runtime. The mAh figures are typical laboratory values and cannot predict your personal hours of use.
- Calling 10x optical zoom. On the Ultra, 10x is optical-quality zoom; only 3x and 5x are listed as optical zoom distances.
- Expecting S Pen features on every model. S26 and S26+ do not support S Pen functionality, and the Ultra pen lacks BLE and Air Actions according to Samsung’s US support page.
- Buying a charger by wattage alone. A 100 W adapter does not force the phone to charge at 100 W. The handset’s ceiling, protocol, cable and thermal conditions determine the result.
- Assuming chipset parity worldwide. Processor and storage choices vary by market, carrier and device. Verify the local SKU.
Bottom line
Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra are differentiated primarily by size, camera hardware, charging and pen support. The S26 is the compact option; the S26+ is the large-screen model with the same listed cameras; and the Ultra is the camera-and-productivity flagship. Choose among them by the features you will use, then compare current local prices and confirm the exact regional configuration before purchasing.
