Choose the Galaxy S26+ if you value its larger, sharper display, higher-capacity battery and faster stated charging. The rear-camera hardware Samsung lists is the same on both, so paying more for the Plus does not buy a different camera array.

Is the S26+ worth the extra money?
It depends on the price difference where you are buying and how much you value screen space. The Plus gives you a 6.7-inch QHD+ display instead of the S26’s 6.3-inch FHD+ panel, along with a 600 mAh higher typical battery capacity and Samsung’s faster charging estimate. If those upgrades matter to you and the local price gap is modest, the S26+ is the stronger fit.
At launch in 2026, Tom’s Guide reported U.S. starting prices of US$899 for the S26 and US$1,099 for the S26+, a US$200 difference. It reported launch prices of £879 and £1,099 in the U.K., and A$1,549 and A$1,849 in Australia. These are historical launch prices, not current offers. Check the price for the exact model and storage option in your market before deciding; live prices and retailer promotions are not established here.

Choose the S26 for comfort and easier carrying
On Samsung Ireland’s listed measurements, the S26 is 8.8 mm shorter, 4.1 mm narrower and 23 g lighter than the S26+. That makes it the more pocketable choice and the more sensible pick if one-handed use or carrying comfort is a priority. The trade-off is a smaller, lower-resolution display and a lower battery capacity.
Choose the S26+ for a bigger, sharper screen
The S26+ has the larger panel and higher resolution: 6.7-inch QHD+ versus 6.3-inch FHD+ on the S26. Both use Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, according to Samsung. The Plus is the better fit for people who prefer more room for reading, video and general on-screen content, provided its extra size and weight are acceptable.

Battery and charging: what Samsung’s numbers mean
Samsung Singapore lists typical battery capacities of 4,300 mAh for the S26 and 4,900 mAh for the S26+. It estimates up to 30 hours of video playback for the S26 and up to 31 hours for the Plus. Those are manufacturer estimates, not independent battery-test results or a guarantee of your day-to-day runtime; actual battery life depends on use and conditions.
Samsung’s stated charging estimates are up to 55% for the S26 and up to 69% for the S26+ in around 30 minutes. These figures are also manufacturer estimates rather than results from a comparative independent test. Check the package contents and the specifications of any charger you plan to use; the information here does not establish a universal charger recommendation.

The Plus is not a rear-camera upgrade
Samsung lists the same rear-camera hardware for both phones: a 50 MP wide camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and a 10 MP telephoto camera. Samsung’s Singapore listing identifies 3× optical zoom. If you are choosing between these models, the published camera specifications do not give the S26+ a hardware advantage. Matching hardware specifications alone do not establish that image quality will be identical in every situation.

Samsung says specifications can vary by country. Its investor report lists Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 and Exynos 2600 platform options for the S26 family, with Android 16 and One UI 8.5; that does not mean every region gets the same processor. Confirm the processor and other specifications for the local SKU you intend to buy rather than assuming a global configuration.
