Samsung’s separate S26 announcement says the S26 starts at $899.99 and discusses 256GB and 512GB launch configurations, while Samsung Electronics America’s March 2026 MSRP sheet also lists a 128GB unlocked SKU at $799.99. The table uses that MSRP-sheet entry for the matching-storage calculation rather than treating the launch announcement’s starting price as the only S26 configuration.

The S26 is both shorter and narrower and is 12 g lighter according to Samsung’s listed figures. The A57 is 0.3 mm thinner. Samsung notes that rounded corners reduce the actual viewable display area, so diagonal display measurements do not represent a rectangle of fully usable screen.
Processor, RAM and storage configurations
Samsung identifies the S26 processor as Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and lists 12GB of RAM. Samsung’s US A57 launch specification lists 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage. These are different product tiers, but the listed specifications alone do not quantify real-world speed; Samsung’s official specifications are not independent performance tests.

The clearest camera hardware distinction is zoom. The S26 has a dedicated 10MP 3x telephoto camera, alongside a 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide camera. Samsung lists 3x optical zoom, up to 30x digital zoom, 4K recording at 60fps and 8K recording at 30fps.

The A57’s listed rear system combines a 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro camera. Its specification list does not include a dedicated telephoto camera. Choose the S26 if an optical telephoto option or 8K capture matters; choose the A57 if its listed wide, ultra-wide and macro arrangement covers your needs. These are hardware and manufacturer-listed recording specifications, not comparative camera-quality test results.
Battery capacity and charging
Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery for the A57 and a 4,300mAh typical battery for the S26. The A57 therefore has the higher stated capacity, but capacity by itself does not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use.

Samsung says the A57 receives up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy A57 5G if you want to spend less, prefer a 6.7-inch display, or value its higher stated typical battery capacity. The cited US references show it undercutting the S26 at both matching storage sizes.
- Choose the Galaxy S26 if you prefer a smaller, lighter phone and want the listed higher-tier processor, dedicated 3x telephoto camera or 8K video recording.
- Compare the local configuration before buying if you are outside the US or looking at a different storage tier. Samsung’s regional A57 options differ, and the cited US price arithmetic does not establish prices in other markets.
