The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the more clearly documented choice: Samsung has published its specifications, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max figures currently available are third-party listings that still need official confirmation. On paper, Samsung offers a sharper display and two optical telephoto lenses; Xiaomi is listed with a rear screen, a much larger battery and faster charging. The reported prices cannot establish a meaningful price difference without matching country and storage tier.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra vs Xiaomi 18 Pro Max specs
The table separates Samsung’s official specifications from Xiaomi figures reported by Gadgets 360. Xiaomi’s numbers should be treated as reported specifications, not as confirmed official-market details.

Which display is the better fit?
Samsung lists QHD+ resolution, while Xiaomi’s reported main-screen specification is FHD+. That gives Samsung the stronger stated pixel-resolution specification; actual viewing quality also depends on factors such as brightness, calibration and panel performance, which these figures do not compare.

Xiaomi’s listed 2.9-inch rear display is a separate potential convenience feature, not a substitute for the main screen. Its practical value depends on what it can show and how it integrates with apps—details not established by the cited listing.

How the camera systems differ
Samsung’s specification describes distinct camera roles, including 3x and 5x optical telephoto lenses. Xiaomi’s listing gives three megapixel counts but does not provide equivalent lens-role or optical-zoom detail. The counts alone cannot show which phone takes better photos: image quality also depends on optics, stabilization, processing and real-world testing.
In particular, Xiaomi’s reported 200MP front-camera figure should not be treated as evidence of better selfies than Samsung’s 12MP front camera. Resolution is only one part of camera performance, and the cited specifications do not supply comparative photo tests.

Battery capacity and charging: what the figures do—and do not—tell you
The reported Xiaomi battery capacity is 8,500mAh, against Samsung’s official 5,000mAh figure. Gadgets 360 also lists 100W wired and 50W wireless charging for Xiaomi. These are specification claims, not measured battery-life or charging-time results. Capacity alone does not establish screen-on time, and charging speed in practice can vary with conditions and compatible equipment.

Samsung officially lists a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor; the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 name appears in the third-party Xiaomi listing. No comparable independent benchmark or thermal testing is established by these sources, so the chipset names do not settle which phone is faster in sustained use.

The Xiaomi listing reports Android 17 with HyperOS 4, but official confirmation and the length of its software-support commitment are not established. Before buying either phone, check the manufacturer’s update policy for the exact model and your market rather than inferring support from the operating-system version.

PhoneArena’s comparison page, accessed in 2026, reports US Samsung MSRPs of $1,300 for 256GB, $1,500 for 512GB and $1,800 for 1TB, and a Xiaomi starting listing of €920. The Samsung figures are US dollar prices across specified storage tiers; the Xiaomi figure is in euros and is not verified as an official regional MSRP. They are not a valid direct price comparison, and the Xiaomi starting storage tier is not matched here.

For a useful comparison, check the price of the same storage capacity in your country, then confirm whether each figure is an official MSRP or a current retailer offer. Also account for local warranty coverage, network-band compatibility and whether the Xiaomi model is officially sold where you live. Gadgets 360’s listing says the Xiaomi was not launched in India, despite also giving it a September 23, 2026 release date; availability claims therefore need to be checked for the specific market.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- 6.8" Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to ~1750 nits brightness, HDR10+ support, and ultra-smooth responsiveness for gaming and scrolling.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra if you want specifications backed by Samsung’s announcement, a QHD+ main display, or a clearly specified pair of optical telephoto lenses.
- Consider the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max if its rear screen, reported battery and charging figures, or listed camera configuration match your priorities—but verify the official specifications, local availability, warranty and software-support terms first.
- Make price the deciding factor only after comparing local prices for equivalent storage tiers. The available dollar and euro figures do not establish which phone costs less in your market.
