The Galaxy S26 Ultra and Motorola Signature are premium Android phones with different strengths, but their announced starting prices do not establish which costs less: Samsung’s is a US price, while Motorola’s is a euro MSRP for select European countries. On published specifications, Samsung offers a higher-resolution display and two listed telephoto cameras; Motorola is thinner and lighter, has a slightly larger stated battery, and advertises faster charging. Those figures are manufacturer claims, not results from matched testing.
Price difference: the launch figures are not a like-for-like comparison
Samsung announced a US starting price of $1,299.99 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB configurations. Its current US product page also lists a $1,299.99 starting price before trade-in, though offers can change. Samsung’s February 25, 2026 US announcement said general availability would start March 11, 2026; that was launch timing, not a guarantee of present stock or pricing.

Motorola’s launch announcement set the Signature’s starting MSRP at €999 in select European countries and described plans to roll it out to other regions. It does not establish one worldwide price or a US price. Motorola’s launch announcement directs readers to local contacts for regional pricing and availability.

Because the figures are in different currencies and markets—and do not identify the same storage tier, seller, or purchase terms—subtracting them would not produce a meaningful price difference. To compare what you would actually pay, match the country, storage, unlocked or carrier status, seller, and date. Treat trade-in credits, financing, and temporary promotions separately from list price.

Display: resolution or a higher advertised refresh rate?
Samsung lists a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with an adaptive refresh rate of 1–120 Hz. Motorola lists a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display, and its product materials advertise a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. The published size figures are close, but Samsung’s stated resolution is the more specific resolution claim in the available specifications; Motorola’s cited material does not provide a comparable resolution figure here.

A higher maximum refresh-rate number does not by itself establish better overall display quality. Resolution, brightness, adaptive behavior, and how the phone handles content also matter. These published figures do not amount to a side-by-side display test.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Design: the Signature is thinner and lighter on published figures
Samsung lists the S26 Ultra at 7.9 mm thick and 214 g. Motorola’s launch materials give the Signature a 6.99 mm profile and a weight of 186 g. Those figures make the Motorola thinner and lighter on paper, but they do not prove which phone will feel more comfortable in a particular hand or with a case.

Cameras: compare lens roles, not megapixel totals
Samsung lists four rear-camera roles: a 200 MP wide camera, 50 MP ultra-wide, 50 MP telephoto, and 10 MP telephoto. The listed hardware includes two telephoto cameras. Motorola promotes four 50 MP camera modules, but says pixel binning on the ultra-wide produces an effective 12.5 MP photo resolution. The number of megapixels alone cannot establish which phone takes better pictures; this comparison has no matched camera test or independent sample set.
Battery and charging: capacity is not the same as endurance
Motorola Support lists a 5,200 mAh battery and 90 W wired and 50 W wireless charging for the Signature. Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh battery; its launch material says the S26 Ultra can reach up to 75% charge in around 30 minutes, and its US product page advertises up to 25 W wireless charging.

These are different manufacturer measures, and the sources do not provide a matched charging protocol or endurance test. A larger stated capacity or higher charging wattage does not, on its own, prove longer battery life or establish exact charging times under your conditions.
Software support: the published claims are not equally specific
Motorola’s launch statement promises up to seven Android OS and security updates for the Signature. The Samsung launch announcement cited here does not give an equivalent support-duration figure, so it does not support a direct claim that one phone receives longer support. Check Samsung’s current official policy for the exact model and market before using update duration as a deciding factor.
Best Value
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
Which phone should you choose?
Start with local pricing and then decide which hardware differences matter most to you. The published specifications point to different priorities rather than a proven overall winner:
- Consider the Galaxy S26 Ultra if its stated QHD+ display, listed camera setup with two telephoto cameras, or the 256 GB–1 TB storage choices fit your priorities.
- Consider the Motorola Signature if its published lower weight and thinner profile, 5,200 mAh battery, higher stated wired and wireless charging wattages, or Motorola’s stated update commitment are more relevant to you.
- Before buying either, compare current prices for the same market and storage tier, check local availability, and look for independent camera and battery tests if those are key concerns.
The source materials do not establish a universal price winner or a matched independent verdict on camera quality, battery endurance, or performance.
