The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is the higher-end spec package, with a 6.9-inch QHD+ AMOLED display, four rear cameras including two telephoto lenses, and storage options up to 1TB. Motorola’s US-listed moto g max has a 6.72-inch 120Hz LCD, two rear cameras, and a larger 7,000mAh battery. There is no reliable universal price difference: prices depend on country, exact Moto variant, storage, seller, and date.

Display: higher resolution or a large 120Hz screen?
Samsung’s 6.9-inch panel is a QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. Motorola lists a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD running at 120Hz, with a high-brightness mode rated up to 1,050 nits. The S26 Ultra therefore has the higher stated resolution and an AMOLED panel; the Moto’s published specification still includes a high-refresh-rate screen. Cameras: more lenses on Samsung, no test-based image verdict
The S26 Ultra has four rear camera modules, including separate telephoto cameras specified for 3x and 5x optical zoom. Motorola’s US moto g max specification lists a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. On paper, Samsung offers more camera types and dedicated telephoto options; the specification list alone cannot show which phone produces better images.

Performance, memory, and storage
Samsung lists the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and RAM configurations of 12GB, rising to 16GB on the 1TB model. Motorola’s US support page lists a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. These specifications place the Samsung in a more premium hardware tier, but they are not benchmark results. Samsung notes that actual storage availability can vary by carrier, country, or region. [Samsung Global Newsroom; Motorola US support specifications]
Battery and charging: capacity is not measured endurance
Motorola lists a 7,000mAh battery and 30W TurboPower charging for its US moto g max. Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery for the S26 Ultra. The Moto has the larger stated capacity, but neither figure by itself tells you how long a charge lasts under your usage or how the phones compare in measured endurance. Software support and durability
Motorola’s US specification page lists Android 16, two OS upgrades, and three years of security patches for the moto g max. OS upgrades and security patches are different commitments: the first concerns major Android version updates, while the second concerns security maintenance. The cited secondary comparison material reports up to seven years of OS updates for Samsung, but that claim should be checked against the commitment for the specific market and model before relying on it. Motorola lists an IP64 water-resistant design; the cited Samsung announcement does not establish a water-resistance rating, so these sources do not support a complete durability ranking. Price difference: compare the same market and configuration
A single global “Galaxy S26 Ultra vs Moto G Max 5G price difference” cannot be calculated from the available snapshots. PhoneArena lists an approximate US$1,300 MSRP for the S26 Ultra with 256GB, while comparison pages show prices in other currencies and markets. The cited Motorola US specification page does not establish a current retail price for the moto g max. These are not like-for-like figures, and they may not describe the same Moto variant or current offers. [PhoneArena S26 Ultra listing; Smartprix comparison pages; Gadgets 360 comparison pages]

For a useful local comparison, match the country, the exact Moto G Max variant, storage capacity, seller, and date. Samsung says the S26 series pre-order period begins February 25, 2026; that announcement does not establish a universal street price. [Samsung Global Newsroom]

Motorola’s official support specifications cited here describe the US moto g max: Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, 7,000mAh battery, and the other US-listed details above. Comparison aggregators report conflicting Moto G Max configurations, including a different chipset and battery.
