For close-ups and named computational modes, the Google Pixel 10 Pro lists Macro Focus, Camera Coach, Night Sight and Astrophotography. Those feature differences can help you choose by shooting style, but they do not establish that either phone takes better photos overall. This comparison reflects manufacturer-published features as of October 4, 2026.
How the rear camera systems differ
The main distinction is how each phone presents its camera options: Samsung lists four rear cameras, including separate 3x and 5x telephotos, while Google lists three rear cameras and highlights software modes and assistance features.

Galaxy S26 Ultra: distinct 3x and 5x optical steps
Samsung lists a dedicated 10 MP 3x telephoto and a 50 MP 5x telephoto. It separately describes 2x and 10x as optical-quality zoom enabled by the Adaptive Pixel sensor. “Optical-quality” is not the same claim as a dedicated optical zoom lens at those magnifications; the listed optical steps are 3x and 5x.

- PRIVACY DISPLAY: Automatically hide your screen from those beside you. The built-in privacy display can be preset¹ to turn on when receiving notifications, typing passwords, or using specific apps
- TYPE IT IN. TRANSFORM IT FAST: Enhance any shot in seconds on your smartphone by using Photo Assist² with Galaxy AI.³ Add objects, restore details, or apply new styles by simply typing or tapping

- HELP THAT KEEPS UP: Stay in the moment while Now Nudge with Galaxy AI helps you respond faster and stay organized with smart suggestions⁵ that appear exactly when you need them on your phone
This gives the Galaxy a feature-based case if you often want to frame subjects at those two distinct telephoto viewpoints without relying only on a single telephoto camera’s zoom range.
Pixel 10 Pro: 5x telephoto and up to 100x Pro Zoom
Google lists a 48 MP 5x telephoto and Pro Zoom up to 100x. The maximum is a vendor-described feature, not a promise of optical detail or reliable handheld results at the highest setting. Treat it as an advertised reach option rather than evidence that a 100x image will retain fine detail.

Close-ups and computational shooting features
Google explicitly lists Macro Focus on the Pixel 10 Pro’s ultrawide camera. That makes the Pixel a clearer feature fit if close-up photography is part of your routine. The Samsung sources cited here do not establish an equivalent close-up feature; that absence from the cited information should not be read as proof that the phone has no close-up capability.
Google also lists Camera Coach, Night Sight, Astrophotography and High-Res Portrait Mode, among other camera tools. These may appeal if you want built-in guidance or specific shooting modes. Their presence describes the available feature set, not a demonstrated quality advantage over Samsung.

Choose by the way you shoot
Consider the Galaxy S26 Ultra if you value
- Separate listed 3x and 5x optical telephoto framing options.
- A 200 MP wide camera and four listed rear-camera viewpoints.
- A choice between dedicated optical steps and Samsung’s separately described optical-quality zoom options.
Consider the Pixel 10 Pro if you value
- Macro Focus explicitly listed for the ultrawide camera.
- Google’s named modes and assistance features, including Camera Coach, Night Sight and Astrophotography.
- A listed 5x telephoto alongside Pro Zoom advertised up to 100x.
Before deciding, think about the subjects you photograph most, the distances you typically shoot from, and whether you prefer choosing a focal-length step or using software-guided modes. For exact regional availability and feature details, check the manufacturer listings for your market; availability and camera software can vary or change.

The published specifications support a comparison of camera hardware and advertised modes, not a universal image-quality verdict. No controlled, independent head-to-head results are established here. Samsung’s product page calls the S26 Ultra “Our brightest camera system yet”; that is Samsung’s promotional wording, not independent evidence that it outperforms the Pixel.
