The Galaxy S26 FE’s biggest changes are its Exynos 2500 chip, Android 17 with One UI 9, and new camera and Galaxy AI features. The core hardware is largely familiar: Samsung lists the same screen size and refresh rate, rear-camera resolutions and 3x optical zoom, battery capacity, and wired charging class as on the S25 FE. Upgrade if the new software and camera workflows matter to you and the price difference is reasonable; otherwise, a meaningfully cheaper S25 FE may be the better buy.
What changed between the Galaxy S26 FE and S25 FE?

Which S26 FE features are actually new?
My FanCam and Super Steady with Horizontal Lock
Samsung describes My FanCam as a way to track and reframe a subject in video, while Super Steady with Horizontal Lock is intended to keep video level during movement. These are practical reasons to consider the S26 FE if you often record moving subjects or handheld clips. They are feature differences, not proof that every S26 FE photo or video will look better.
Photo Assist and Galaxy AI changes
The S26 FE adds natural-language editing through Photo Assist, alongside newer Now Brief and Now Nudge behavior and multi-object Circle to Search, according to Samsung’s launch materials. The S25 FE already includes Galaxy AI tools such as Generative Edit, Instant Slow-mo, and Audio Eraser, as well as Samsung’s ProVisual Engine. The choice is therefore between different software capabilities, not a phone with AI and one without it. Feature availability may depend on region, language, account, and software version.

Is the Galaxy S26 FE worth upgrading to?
Upgrade if the new software features match how you use your phone
The S26 FE is the more compelling option if you specifically want Android 17 and One UI 9 at setup, or expect to use My FanCam, Horizontal Lock, or the newer editing and Galaxy AI features. Its newer processor may also matter to you, but Samsung’s listed chip generation and manufacturing process are not a substitute for comparative performance testing.
Keep the S25 FE if its core hardware already works for you
If you are satisfied with your S25 FE, the published specifications offer few reasons to switch on display size, rear-camera resolution or optical zoom, battery capacity, or wired charging class alone. Samsung promises the same duration of OS and security support for both models, although the S26 FE begins from a later Android version. No independent head-to-head battery, benchmark, or camera test is established here to quantify a day-to-day gain.

Compare local prices before buying either phone
Samsung India announced a launch price of INR 79,999 for the S26 FE with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage on September 14, 2026. That is an India-specific launch price, not a global price or necessarily the current street price; Samsung also described regional exchange and financing offers subject to their terms. Check the current price where you live and compare like-for-like storage, trade-in value, and any offer before deciding. If the S25 FE is substantially cheaper and you do not need the newer features, it is likely the better value; if the difference is small after trade-in and the features matter to you, the S26 FE is the sensible upgrade.

- Confirm the phone is available in your market and check the exact RAM and storage configuration.
- Compare current local prices for matching storage capacities, including the actual trade-in value and offer eligibility.
- Check which Galaxy AI features and languages are supported in your region.
- If you need a charger, note that Samsung says the 45 W adapter is sold separately; confirm regional compatibility for the charger and cable.
- Choose a case listed for the exact phone model. Similar dimensions do not establish that an S25 FE case fits the S26 FE.
Samsung’s UK S26 FE product page and FAQ list regional product details and accessory information; check your own market’s listing for local availability and terms.
