At its India launch price of ₹79,999 for the 8GB/256GB model, the Galaxy S26 FE looks like a capable all-rounder, but not an automatic value buy. TechRadar’s review praises its performance and software while flagging limits in multitasking and display detail; its camera score is also lower than its scores for design, software, performance and battery. That makes the price—and what you personally prioritize—central to the verdict.
Samsung announced the phone in India on 14 September 2026. A later Gadgets 360 price snapshot, dated 3 October 2026, listed the same configuration at ₹72,999 on Amazon. That dated listing is not a guaranteed current price, so check the seller, stock, variant and checkout total before buying.
What you get for ₹79,999
The ₹79,999 figure is Samsung India’s launch price for the Galaxy S26 FE with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Samsung also announced Pistachio, Blueberry and Graphite color options. Its launch announcement listed an exchange upgrade bonus of up to ₹8,000, ₹7,000 bank cashback, or EMI options, and says these offers are mutually exclusive. They should not be treated as stackable or assumed to be available now.
The later ₹72,999 figure is a retailer-price snapshot, not a revision to Samsung’s launch price. Because both offers and listings can change, compare the final checkout price for the correct configuration rather than relying on a headline price alone.

How the review evidence translates to everyday use
Display: large and smooth, but not the sharpest in its class
Samsung’s 6.7-inch AMOLED panel and refresh rate of up to 120Hz point to a spacious, fluid screen on paper. TechRadar’s reviewer described it as big and colorful but less detailed than higher-tier Samsung displays, and rated the display 3.5/5. If fine text, high-resolution media or a more premium screen is a priority, the FE’s panel is a meaningful compromise at this price.

Performance: strong graphics results, with a multitasking caveat
TechRadar’s review reports an Exynos 2500 and 8GB RAM configuration. The publication said the chip did well in its graphics testing, while its reviewer noted limits with multitasking and intensive apps. Its own benchmark results were Geekbench 6 single-core 2,361 and multi-core 7,831; 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test best 5,116 and low 3,456; and 3DMark Solar Bay 10,526. These figures belong to TechRadar’s 2026 test context and are not independently reproduced here.
The practical takeaway is not that every owner will see the same behavior: light and routine use may not expose the limits the reviewer encountered, while demanding apps and keeping many tasks active are more likely to matter. Treat the benchmark scores as one publication’s testing, not a guarantee of performance in every workload.

Cameras: flexible hardware, but the review score is a caution
The rear setup includes wide, ultra-wide and 3x optical-zoom cameras, giving it more framing options than a single-camera phone. Samsung also promotes Galaxy AI features such as Photo Assist, alongside My FanCam and Super Steady with Horizontal Lock video tools. Those capabilities and feature descriptions come from Samsung; they do not establish image quality in every scene. TechRadar rated the camera 3/5, so buyers prioritizing camera results should look for direct comparisons of photos and video in the conditions they care about rather than judging by megapixels or feature names alone.
Battery and charging: promising reviewer experience, not a universal runtime
In TechRadar’s review, the reviewer recorded 43% battery after 15 minutes and a full charge after 58 minutes using a 45W charger. The same reviewer reported using about 40% battery during a typical day and said the phone could last two days of regular use in that experience. These are individual review observations, not controlled results or a promise of two-day battery life for every user; screen brightness, network conditions, apps and workload all affect runtime.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Software support is a strong part of the proposition
The phone launches with One UI 9 based on Android 17, according to Samsung’s product page. Samsung promises seven major Android OS upgrades and up to seven years of security patches. This is a manufacturer support commitment; the future timing and cadence of each delivery cannot yet be assessed.
Samsung also lists a Galaxy S26 FE Magnet Case with a built-in magnetic ring for compatible chargers and accessories, and describes protection against bumps and scratches. Compatibility and protection claims are Samsung’s; check the specific accessory and device fit before purchase.

What TechRadar’s ratings say—and what they do not
TechRadar’s scorecard gives the phone 4/5 for design, 3.5/5 for display, 4/5 for software, 3/5 for camera, 4/5 for performance, 4/5 for battery and 3.5/5 for value. These are one publication’s judgments, not a consensus rating or a substitute for matching the phone to your own priorities.
Read together, the scores describe a balanced package with clear strengths in design, software and overall performance, but a weaker camera assessment and a display that does not match Samsung’s higher-tier panels for detail. At ₹79,999, those trade-offs are harder to ignore than they would be at a lower checkout price.
Who should consider the Galaxy S26 FE?
- It may suit you if you want Samsung’s software experience, a large high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, telephoto zoom, and a long stated update commitment in one device.
- Think carefully if your priorities are the most detailed display Samsung offers, consistently heavy multitasking, or camera performance that has earned stronger independent review marks.
- Reassess at the actual price if the listing is below launch price: a lower confirmed checkout total can improve the value case, but it does not change the phone’s display, camera or multitasking trade-offs.
How to compare it before buying
Potential comparison models named by Gadgets 360 include the Google Pixel 11, OPPO Find X9s, Samsung Galaxy S25, Vivo V70 Elite, iPhone 16, Vivo X300 FE, OPPO Reno 16 and Samsung Galaxy S25+. That list is a starting point, not evidence of a matched test or a definitive alternative ranking.
Compare phones using the same purchase date and Indian storage tier. Check the actual checkout price, display resolution and brightness, camera versatility and sample results, sustained performance and multitasking, update support, wired and wireless charging, and build and durability. The prices and offers that matter are the ones available for your configuration and seller when you order.

The Galaxy S26 FE brings a broad feature set, Samsung’s stated seven-year security support window, a telephoto camera and capable performance according to TechRadar’s review. But its launch price of ₹79,999 puts the review’s display and camera reservations—and the reported multitasking limits—squarely in the buying decision. It makes the most sense for someone who values Samsung’s software and support package and is comfortable with those compromises. At any lower current price, judge the offer against the same trade-offs, and verify the live listing before paying.
