On the published specifications, the vivo S2 5G offers a larger, sharper display and a higher-capacity battery, while Samsung’s Galaxy S26 FE has a more versatile rear-camera system with an ultra-wide camera and 3x optical telephoto. The Samsung also has the lower listed weight. The apparent price gap is about ₹40,509, but it compares Samsung’s announced 8GB/256GB launch price with a time-sensitive third-party vivo listing—not confirmed like-for-like retail prices.
India price: the gap is indicative, not a like-for-like comparison
Samsung announced the Galaxy S26 FE at ₹79,999 in India for the 8GB/256GB configuration. MySmartPrice listed the vivo S2 5G at ₹39,490 when its page was surfaced in 2026. Those figures differ by ₹40,509, but the vivo figure is a secondary listing price that can change, and the available information does not establish a matching RAM and storage configuration. Treat the difference as a snapshot, not a fixed saving or a comparison of equivalent offers. Samsung’s India announcement and the MySmartPrice listing are the respective sources.

Specifications are manufacturer-listed unless a price source is identified in the table. The listed brightness figures use different descriptions—Samsung’s stated nits and vivo’s local peak brightness—so they should not be treated as directly comparable measurements. Display: vivo lists more screen area and resolution
The vivo S2’s listed 6.83-inch panel is larger than the Galaxy S26 FE’s 6.7-inch screen, and its 2800 × 1260 resolution is higher than Samsung’s FHD+ listing. Both are specified for refresh rates up to 120Hz. That makes vivo the stronger on-paper choice if screen size and pixel detail lead your priorities; it does not establish which panel looks better in person.
Do not infer a direct brightness win from 3,000 versus 1,900 nits: vivo describes a local peak-brightness figure, and the cited specifications do not establish a shared measurement method.

Performance: compare the chip names, not an unverified speed claim
Samsung lists the Exynos 2500, while vivo names the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo and specifies a 4nm process. These are the published processor details, not a head-to-head benchmark. No independent performance test is established here, so the specifications alone do not justify claiming that one phone is faster in games, everyday use, or sustained workloads.

Samsung’s rear setup includes three distinct camera types: a 50MP wide camera with optical image stabilisation, a 12MP ultra-wide, and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The vivo S2 lists a 50MP main camera and a 2MP secondary camera. If you want dedicated ultra-wide framing or optical telephoto reach, Samsung’s listed hardware offers those options; the vivo specification does not list either lens.

The vivo front camera is listed at 32MP against Samsung’s 12MP. Megapixel counts alone do not establish detail, low-light performance, colour, or overall image quality, so they are not enough to declare a selfie-camera winner.
Battery and charging: vivo has the larger stated capacity
vivo specifies a 7,050mAh typical battery and 44W charging. Samsung lists 4,900mAh capacity, but the cited launch text does not state a charging wattage. The vivo figure is larger on paper; battery capacity by itself does not establish longer real-world use, and the available specifications do not provide a comparable endurance test.

- The Galaxy S25 FE features a large, immersive Dynamic AMOLED display with smooth refresh rate and enhanced brightness, delivering vivid colors and sharp clarity whether you're streaming, browsing, or using it outdoors.
Software support: the stated promises differ in precision
vivo’s S2 overview states three generations of OS updates and five years of security updates. Samsung’s launch announcement says the Galaxy S26 FE is the first Galaxy S26-series device with One UI 9, but that announcement does not give a precise update-duration promise. Check the current India support terms for the exact model before making longevity a deciding factor; the launch statement alone is not a basis for matching the two support periods. vivo’s S2 overview and Samsung’s announcement contain the cited statements.

Samsung lists the Galaxy S26 FE at 193g and 7.4mm thick. vivo lists the S2 at roughly 164.42mm tall and 7.99–8.10mm thick, with weight varying by color between 197g and 199g. On those figures, Samsung is slightly shorter, thinner, and lighter, while vivo is narrower. Check the specific color’s vivo listing if weight matters, since the published figures are not identical across colors.

Make sure the listing says vivo S2, not vivo S2 FE
The vivo S2 and vivo S2 FE are separate models. Do not use S2 FE specifications to fill gaps in an S2 comparison: confirm the exact model name in the product listing and its specification page. vivo’s S2 specification page and S2 FE specification page identify them separately.
Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S26 FE on specifications if a dedicated ultra-wide camera, 3x optical telephoto, optical image stabilisation on the listed wide camera, or lower listed weight matters most.
- Choose the vivo S2 on specifications if you prefer its larger, higher-resolution listed screen, higher stated typical battery capacity, or the stated OS and security update terms.
- Decide on price only after checking current equivalent configurations. The cited ₹40,509 difference is calculated from figures with different source types and does not confirm matching storage or current checkout prices.
- Do not treat chip labels or megapixels as test results. The listed specifications do not establish comparative benchmark speed, battery endurance, or camera image quality.
