Those specs suggest different strengths, but do not establish which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in matched testing.

How much do the Galaxy S25 and Xiaomi 17T cost?
In India, Xiaomi’s official phone listing displayed the Xiaomi 17T from ₹69,999, with ₹84,999 shown as its marketing price. Samsung’s India buy page displayed the Galaxy S25 with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM at ₹84,999, with ₹94,999 shown as MRP. These are different product-page price labels, not a controlled comparison of identical offers. Store listings and promotions can change; verify the configuration and final checkout price before ordering. A separate 91mobiles comparison showed Amazon-listed prices of ₹67,490 for the Galaxy S25 and ₹69,999 for the Xiaomi 17T when checked. The page excerpt does not establish that those listings matched on storage, seller terms or stock, so the apparent ₹2,509 difference is not a reliable like-for-like price verdict. Check the same storage capacity, seller and warranty terms in your market.

Which phone is easier to carry and use?
The Galaxy S25 is the clear choice on the published size and weight figures: it weighs 162g and has a 6.2-inch display. Xiaomi’s 17T weighs 200g and has a 6.59-inch screen. That 38g difference may matter if you carry a phone all day, prefer one-handed use or want a smaller handset; the larger Xiaomi panel gives more room for video, reading and apps.

The 17T also lists the higher display resolution, 2756 × 1268 against the S25’s 2340 × 1080. Both advertise refresh rates up to 120Hz. Resolution and size are specifications, not a complete measure of display quality: in its review, TechRadar described the 17T display as sharp and vivid but said dark details could look muddled.

Which has the better cameras?
The published hardware points to a difference in zoom reach, not a proven overall camera winner. Samsung specifies a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Xiaomi lists a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with a 115mm-equivalent focal length, described as 5x. The Xiaomi’s listed telephoto design reaches farther by nominal optical factor, while resolution alone cannot establish how much detail either phone captures.
Both phones list a 50MP stabilized main camera: Samsung gives an f/1.8 aperture, while Xiaomi lists f/1.7. Their ultra-wide cameras are both listed at 12MP and f/2.2, though Xiaomi specifies a 120° field of view. Xiaomi’s 32MP front-camera figure is higher than Samsung’s 12MP, but megapixel count alone does not prove better selfies. In its review, TechRadar praised the 17T’s camera versatility but noted some loss of clarity at 5x and image quality below the strongest camera phones.

Which has the better battery and charging?
On paper, Xiaomi has the substantial advantage in capacity and wired charging: its UK specifications list a 6,500mAh typical battery and 67W HyperCharge. Samsung lists a 4,000mAh typical battery and 25W charging. These capacity and charging ratings are not a matched battery-life test; endurance depends on usage, network conditions and settings.
TechRadar’s June 2, 2026 review reports that its reviewer used one Xiaomi 17T for just over three days on a charge during mixed everyday use, including streaming, games, web browsing and Bluetooth audio. The reviewer reported a full recharge took just over an hour. That is one reviewer’s experience with one device, not a controlled comparison with the Galaxy S25. Xiaomi’s UK specifications also state: “No power adapter is included in the box,” and recommend a Xiaomi 67W adapter or above.

How do performance and software compare?
The phones use different processors: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite in the S25 and MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500-Ultra in the 17T. Clock speeds alone do not establish which feels faster in every task. 91mobiles reports Geekbench multi-core scores of 10,072 for the S25 and 6,860 for the 17T, but its comparison excerpt does not describe the test protocol, device configuration, firmware or repeatability. Treat these as figures reported by that page, not universal or controlled performance results.
TechRadar reported that the reviewed 17T handled app switching and 4K streaming smoothly. Software versions also depend on region and rollout: Samsung’s US page highlights One UI 7, while the Xiaomi UK specifications and review identify Android 16 with HyperOS 3 at review time. The cited sources do not establish a fully comparable official update-duration commitment for both phones.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S25 if you prioritize a lighter, smaller handset and prefer Samsung’s listed 3x optical telephoto hardware.
- Choose the Xiaomi 17T if you want a larger, higher-resolution listed display, a larger stated battery, faster wired charging, the listed 512GB option, or a telephoto lens with greater nominal reach.
- Compare before paying if price is the deciding factor: match storage capacity, seller, warranty, local variant and live offer rather than relying on a from-price or an unmatched marketplace listing.
For regional hardware details, consult the Samsung US Galaxy S25 page and Xiaomi UK 17T specifications; their configurations should not be assumed to represent every country.
