Verdict: The Galaxy S25 Ultra deal reported on May 15, 2025, could beat the Galaxy S25 Edge promotion for buyers with an eligible premium Samsung trade-in. However, “up to $870 off” was a maximum combination of discounts—not a universal price cut—and the report does not establish that the offer is still available. Check Samsung’s live checkout before relying on any figure.

Who could receive the full trade-in credit?
The report identified the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy S24 Ultra as examples eligible for the full $630 credit at that time. It listed lower reported values of $580 for devices such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Those were promotional values from May 2025, not guaranteed current offers. Samsung’s live estimate can depend on the exact model, storage capacity, operating condition, screen damage, activation or carrier lock, financing status and whether the device is blacklisted. The old phone may also be inspected after submission; a condition mismatch can reduce the credit or trigger a charge.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesStorage tiers: 512GB or 1TB?
| Configuration | Historical promotion | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| 256GB | Reference tier; no specific discount stated | Buyers with modest local storage needs |
| 512GB | $120 off; reported at the 256GB price | Most buyers wanting extra room without paying the 1TB premium |
| 1TB | $240 off; produced the highest nominal saving | Long-term owners, heavy video users and buyers with a maximum-value trade-in |
The 512GB promotion effectively made the storage upgrade free versus 256GB in the reported offer. The 1TB version delivered the largest headline discount, but the best absolute price depends on your current trade-in and the configuration still in stock.

S25 Ultra versus S25 Edge
The argument for the Ultra was based on hardware as well as price. The reported comparison said the S25 Edge was thinner, while the Ultra offered a larger battery, a broader camera system and an included S Pen.
| Priority | Galaxy S25 Ultra | Galaxy S25 Edge |
|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 5,000mAh | Smaller battery than the Ultra, according to the comparison report |
| Rear cameras | Broader multi-camera system | No third rear camera, according to the report |
| Stylus | Included S Pen | No S Pen feature stated in the comparison |
| Design priority | Feature-complete flagship hardware | Thinner, lighter-handling design |
| Historical maximum promotion | Up to $870 combined | Up to $750, as reported at the same time |
The Ultra is not automatically better for everyone. The Edge can be the better fit if slimness, lower weight and one-handed handling matter more than battery capacity, camera versatility, storage or a stylus.

Compare the real value before trading in
A headline discount can obscure the value of the phone you surrender. Compare the final checkout total with the device’s likely private-sale or alternative-retailer value, then account for the following:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Price after the exact trade-in credit, not the maximum advertised credit.
- Equivalent storage capacity and color availability.
- Whether the credit is an instant reduction, a carrier bill credit or conditional reimbursement.
- Taxes, shipping, accessories and any required activation or installment plan.
- Warranty, return window and post-trade-in inspection rules.
- Whether you still need the old phone or can sell it for more elsewhere.
How to verify the offer now
- Open the Galaxy S25 Ultra buying page and select the exact storage, color and unlocked or carrier version.
- Enter your trade-in device and record the live credit, condition requirements and submission deadline.
- Check whether the 512GB or 1TB configuration is actually available; promotional stock can be limited.
- Repeat the process on the Galaxy S25 Edge buying page so the comparison uses current, equivalent checkout conditions.
- Read the return and inspection terms before shipping your old phone, and save screenshots of the quoted credit.
The original report concerns a U.S. promotion from May 15, 2025. It does not prove availability in other countries or on October 1, 2026. Samsung may have changed prices, trade-in values, eligibility, colors or end dates.
