The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is the larger, more premium flagship, with a higher-resolution display, two optical-zoom telephoto cameras and a seven-year software-support commitment. The India-market OPPO Reno16 5G (CPH2865) is lighter, has a larger stated battery capacity and faster-rated charging, and costs less in its listed Indian configurations. Their official prices come from different countries, however, so they do not establish a fair direct price difference.

At a glance: Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Reno16 5G

This comparison uses Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra specifications and OPPO India’s Reno16 5G CPH2865 listing. OPPO says Reno16 models in other countries can have different specifications and prices, so check your local model before relying on the OPPO figures below.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not results from a controlled head-to-head test. They do not establish which phone takes better photos, lasts longer on a charge or feels faster in everyday use. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series announcement and specifications and OPPO India’s Reno16 5G product page are the sources for the respective columns.

What are the biggest differences?

Display and handling

The S25 Ultra has the bigger, sharper screen: its 6.9-inch panel is QHD+, while the Reno16’s listed display is about 6.32 inches and FHD+. Both support refresh rates up to 120Hz, although Samsung specifies an adaptive 1–120Hz range. The Reno16 is also lighter by the listed figures: about 182–193g depending on color versus 218g for the Samsung. That makes the OPPO the more compact, lighter option on paper; the specifications alone do not determine comfort in hand.

Camera hardware and zoom

Samsung lists four rear cameras, including separate 3x and 5x optical-zoom telephotos. OPPO lists three 50MP rear cameras, with a 3.5x optical telephoto. The headline megapixel count does not settle image quality: sensor behavior, processing and shooting conditions matter, and the manufacturer specifications do not provide a comparative camera test.

The Reno16’s listed front camera has higher resolution than the S25 Ultra’s, and OPPO specifies autofocus for it. That describes camera hardware, not a guarantee of better selfies or video.

Battery and charging

OPPO lists a 6,700mAh typical battery for the India Reno16, alongside a 6,490mAh rated capacity. Samsung lists 5,000mAh typical for the S25 Ultra. OPPO’s rated wired charging is 80W SUPERVOOC; Samsung lists up to 45W wired charging. Capacity and maximum charging ratings do not by themselves predict endurance, charging time in all conditions or comparative real-world results.

Durability and support

Samsung highlights a titanium frame and Corning Gorilla Armor 2. OPPO lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for the India Reno16. These are different kinds of specifications—materials and screen protection on one side, ingress-protection ratings on the other—and should not be treated as a direct durability test.

Samsung’s stated support commitment for the S25 series is seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch. The cited OPPO India page does not give a matching support duration for the Reno16, so the available information does not support a like-for-like support comparison.

What is the price difference?

The available official prices are for different markets and cannot be subtracted into a meaningful price difference. OPPO India lists the Reno16 5G at ₹66,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB+256GB; OPPO says those prices are correct as of 31 August 2026 and subject to change. The listing also shows higher “list prices,” which are not the same as those stated current prices.

Samsung’s US product page lists the Galaxy S25 Ultra from $1,299.99 before trade-in. That is a US starting price, not a price for other countries, and the listing’s freshness is limited: it was accessed on 7 October 2026. See Samsung US’s Galaxy S25 Ultra page for that regional listing.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Choose the Galaxy S25 Ultra if you want the larger, higher-resolution display, two optical telephoto zoom levels, 1TB storage availability in the cited configuration, or Samsung’s stated seven-year security-update commitment.
  • Consider the India Reno16 5G if a lighter phone, a larger stated battery capacity, 80W-rated charging, a 50MP autofocus front camera or its listed Indian price is more relevant to you.
  • Check the exact local Reno16 model and local prices before deciding. The specifications and rupee prices in this comparison are specifically for OPPO India’s CPH2865 listing.

Samsung executive TM Roh described the S25 series as “a fundamental shift in how we interact with our phones.” That is Samsung’s own characterization of its product, not an independent assessment.
