The Motorola Signature lists a faster-refresh display, a larger battery, quicker charging and three 50MP rear cameras. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra counters with a higher-resolution screen, dedicated 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, an S Pen and Samsung DeX. Those are differences in published specifications, not proof of which phone takes better photos or lasts longer. There is no single responsible price gap without matching country, storage, seller and date.

Display: resolution or refresh rate?
Samsung lists a 6.9-inch QHD+ panel and an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. Motorola lists a slightly smaller 6.8-inch, 2780 × 1264 panel with a maximum refresh rate up to 165Hz. The numbers describe different strengths: Samsung’s specification emphasizes resolution, while Motorola’s emphasizes the highest listed refresh rate. Neither maximum figure alone establishes perceived image quality or how consistently a phone sustains that rate.

Cameras: compare zoom coverage, not just megapixels
The S25 Ultra pairs its 200MP wide camera with a 50MP ultrawide and separate 10MP 3x and 50MP 5x telephoto cameras. Motorola lists three 50MP rear cameras, including a 3x telephoto. Samsung’s published configuration therefore specifies distinct 3x and 5x telephoto cameras; Motorola’s listed arrangement identifies a 3x telephoto.
#1 Best Overall
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
Megapixel counts do not determine image quality by themselves. The specifications here do not establish which phone produces better photos or video; that requires comparable camera testing and samples.
Battery and charging: Motorola lists higher figures
Motorola specifies a 5,200mAh battery and charging up to 90W wired and 50W wireless. Samsung lists a 5,000mAh battery and wired charging up to 45W. On paper, Motorola has the larger battery capacity and higher stated charging rates. Capacity and maximum charging power do not establish real-world battery life or charging time; those depend on conditions and require testing.

Chipsets
Samsung specifies the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy; Motorola specifies the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The names alone do not establish which phone performs better in real use. No directly comparable benchmark results are available here.
Updates
Samsung promises seven OS generations and seven years of security updates from the Galaxy S25 series’ global launch. Motorola describes the Signature commitment as up to seven years of OS upgrades and security patches. The wording and timing differ: check each manufacturer’s regional terms for upgrade schedules and delivery details.

Work and handling
The S25 Ultra includes an S Pen and Samsung DeX. Motorola’s regional material lists the Signature at 186g and 6.99mm, compared with the 218g weight in Samsung’s Korean specification table for the S25 Ultra. The quoted figures make the Signature lighter, but they come from different market materials. Motorola also lists IP68/IP69 protection claims on its product page; verify the rating on the exact regional model.
Price difference: why a single figure would mislead
Prices vary with country, storage, retailer and promotions, and the available figures do not provide a current, like-for-like comparison. A February 10, 2026 report from Android Central put the Motorola Signature’s launch starting price at €999 in select European markets. That is historical regional launch context, not a verified current price or a matched comparison with a particular S25 Ultra configuration.

The same report said Motorola had no US launch plans at the time. That statement reflects the report’s date and is not a guarantee of present availability. Samsung announced global availability for the Galaxy S25 series beginning February 7, 2025; availability and prices still depend on market and seller.

Which one fits your priorities?
- Consider the Galaxy S25 Ultra if its listed QHD+ display, separate 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, S Pen or Samsung DeX match what you need.
- Consider the Motorola Signature if its higher listed refresh rate, larger battery capacity, faster maximum charging figures, lighter regional specification or triple 50MP camera arrangement matter more to you.
- Compare local listings before deciding if price or availability is decisive: use matching storage and seller conditions, and confirm the regional model and warranty.
These are specification-based trade-offs, not a tested performance or camera verdict. Samsung announced Galaxy S25 series global availability beginning February 7, 2025, while the Signature’s cited €999 launch price applies only to select European markets and comes from a February 2026 report.
