In official India store listings checked on 7 October 2026, the 256GB/12GB S25 Ultra was ₹119,999 and the Edge 70 Pro was ₹39,999—a displayed difference of ₹80,000. Those are changeable storefront prices, not a guaranteed like-for-like retailer quote.
India price difference: the S25 Ultra costs ₹80,000 more in the official-store snapshot
Samsung India displayed the Galaxy S25 Ultra with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM at ₹119,999, against a displayed MRP of ₹129,999, on 7 October 2026. #1 Best Overall
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
Which phone has the more versatile camera setup?
The S25 Ultra has two dedicated optical telephoto cameras: one with 3× and another with 5× optical zoom. That gives it more listed hardware for photographing distant subjects without relying only on digital cropping. Motorola’s cited official camera list includes a main camera with optical image stabilisation and an autofocus ultrawide that also supports macro, but no telephoto camera. If optical zoom range matters, Samsung has the clearer hardware advantage.
The Edge 70 Pro lists a higher-resolution 50MP autofocus front camera than Samsung’s 12MP front camera. That is a sensor-resolution distinction, not proof that its selfies look better. Likewise, megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality. No controlled head-to-head camera test is established by the cited material.

Display: higher resolution or a higher refresh-rate ceiling?
Samsung lists the larger, higher-resolution panel: 6.9 inches and QHD+, with adaptive refresh from 1Hz to 120Hz. Its 6.9-inch measurement covers the full rectangle; accounting for rounded corners, the measured area is 6.8 inches, and usable area is further reduced by rounded corners and the camera hole, according to Samsung Newsroom India. Motorola lists a 6.8-inch, 2772 × 1272 display with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz.
Motorola therefore has the higher stated refresh-rate ceiling, while Samsung offers more listed resolution. A maximum refresh rate does not establish that every app or use case will feel smoother: actual behaviour depends on settings and content. Motorola also advertises up to 5,200 nits peak brightness and 1,800 nits HBM. Those are manufacturer-listed figures, not directly comparable brightness measurements without a matching test method.

Battery capacity, charging and weight
Motorola lists a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, compared with Samsung’s 5,000mAh battery. The larger rated capacity does not prove longer screen-on time: that requires comparable endurance testing. Motorola lists 90W TurboPower charging and 5W wired reverse charging; the Samsung source cited here does not provide a directly comparable charging-rate figure, so a rate or full-charge-time comparison is not established.
The S25 Ultra is listed at 218g. Motorola’s official support information gives different weights by finish: 183g for silk/suit finishes and 190g for acetate. This makes the Motorola lighter on listed specifications, although its exact weight depends on the finish.

Performance, software support and durability claims
The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy positions Samsung’s phone in a premium flagship chipset tier; Motorola lists the Dimensity 8500 Extreme. There is no controlled head-to-head performance test in the cited evidence. Samsung Newsroom India announced improvements of 40% for NPU, 37% for CPU and 30% for GPU versus the previous generation. These are Samsung’s own generational claims, not independent measurements comparing these two phones. Samsung Newsroom India launch material

Which is better value in India?
The answer depends on which capabilities justify the price for you. At the official prices displayed on 7 October 2026, Motorola’s listing was ₹80,000 lower, and it also listed a larger battery, a 144Hz maximum refresh rate and a lighter body. Samsung’s case is its more elaborate rear camera array—with dedicated 3× and 5× optical telephoto modules—plus a higher-resolution display and a premium-tier chipset claim. Both have 256GB storage options; Samsung’s cited India listing pairs that tier with 12GB RAM, while Motorola lists both 8GB and 12GB configurations, so compare the RAM variant as well as storage when checking a deal.
Choose based on the trade-off that matters: optical zoom, higher listed display resolution and Samsung’s flagship positioning, or Motorola’s lower displayed price, lighter listed weight and larger battery capacity. The figures above are specifications and dated listings, not substitutes for comparable camera, performance or battery-life tests.
