The comparison needs a regional caveat: Motorola uses the Moto G Max name for different configurations. The detailed comparison below uses the 8GB/256GB Brazil model; it does not describe the distinct US version. There is no reliable single price difference to quote from the available prices, because Samsung’s figure is in US dollars and Motorola’s is a Brazil suggested price in reais.
First, which Moto G Max is this?
“Moto G Max” does not identify one global specification set. Motorola’s Brazil product page describes an 8GB/256GB model with a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 and a 6.8-inch AMOLED display. Motorola’s US support page lists a different 128GB configuration with a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, LCD display and 7,000mAh battery, and warns that specifications vary by market. The comparison table uses the Brazil configuration throughout; do not apply its specifications to the US phone. Motorola Brazil product page · Motorola US support page

#1 Best Overall
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
What the spec differences mean
Display: similar refresh rate, different stated resolution
Both listed displays support a 120Hz refresh rate, but that alone does not make them equivalent. Samsung specifies a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 1–120Hz range; Motorola’s Brazil page specifies a 6.8-inch AMOLED at 120Hz. The cited details do not establish a like-for-like comparison of brightness or overall panel quality.
Cameras: don’t compare only the megapixel count
Both phones list a 200MP main camera, but megapixels alone cannot establish equivalent photo quality. The S25 Ultra’s cited camera specifications also include a 50MP ultrawide and dedicated 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras. Motorola’s Brazil materials list additional cameras but do not establish equivalent optical zoom options. No independent camera tests are available here to show how the phones compare in real-world image quality.

Performance: different tiers, no benchmark claim
The S25 Ultra uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy; the Brazil Moto G Max uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400. These are phones positioned in different product tiers, but the specifications alone do not establish a measured performance difference. No benchmark or hands-on test is cited here.

Battery: capacity is not an endurance result
The stated capacities are 5,000mAh for Samsung and 5,200mAh for the Brazil Moto G Max. Samsung notes that its typical battery capacity was tested under third-party laboratory conditions; that manufacturer figure is not a head-to-head endurance test. Capacity by itself does not show which phone lasts longer in everyday use. Samsung specification and battery note

Software support: check the exact regional terms
Motorola’s US support page states two OS upgrades and three years of security patches for its US-listed Moto G Max configuration. That policy should not be assumed for the Brazil model or other regional variants without checking their local support terms. Motorola US support page

Samsung’s US product page lists the Galaxy S25 Ultra from $1,299.99 before trade-in. Motorola News Brazil announced a suggested price of R$2,799 for the Brazil Moto G Max. Those are prices from different countries and currencies, so subtracting one from the other would not produce a meaningful price gap. Local taxes, promotions, storage configuration and retail availability also matter. Samsung US product page · Motorola News Brazil announcement

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S25 Ultra if you want Samsung’s flagship specification set, S Pen support, a QHD+ display and dedicated 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras.
- Consider the Brazil Moto G Max if you are shopping for that specific 8GB/256GB model and its local price is the priority. Verify the regional SKU and current retailer listing before purchase.
- Compare carefully if camera zoom, performance, battery life or software support is decisive. The published specifications establish some hardware differences, but they do not substitute for independent tests or locally applicable support terms.
