India price difference and availability
The like-for-like comparison is between the 8GB/128GB models: Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 FE at ₹59,999 in India in 2025, while vivo announced the V80 at ₹62,999 in October 2026. That is a ₹3,000 difference, with the V80 higher. The Samsung figures below are historical launch prices, not a claim about its current price; vivo stated that V80 retail availability would begin October 13, 2026. Actual prices, offers and stock can change by retailer and date.

Display: higher refresh rate or larger screen?
The V80 lists a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 2750×1260 resolution and up to 144Hz refresh. Samsung specifies a larger 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. On paper, vivo has the higher resolution and refresh ceiling, while Samsung has the larger diagonal. These specifications do not establish measured brightness, color accuracy, outdoor legibility or how consistently either phone sustains its maximum refresh rate.

Cameras: compare the lenses, not just megapixels
Both phones list a 50MP optical-image-stabilized main camera. The V80 lists a 50MP OIS telephoto, an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP autofocus front camera. Samsung lists a 12MP ultrawide, an 8MP OIS telephoto with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP front camera.
The listed hardware gives Samsung a clearly specified 3x optical zoom figure; vivo’s India specification lists a 50MP telephoto but does not establish an equivalent optical zoom figure in the information compared here. Vivo lists a higher-resolution front camera and telephoto sensor, but megapixel counts alone cannot predict detail, low-light performance, skin tones or video quality. No independent camera test establishes which phone takes better pictures.

Battery and charging
Vivo lists a 7,200mAh typical-capacity battery and 90W wired charging. Samsung lists a 4,900mAh battery and wired charging up to 45W, plus wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare. Samsung states that its 45W adapter is sold separately. The capacity and maximum charging figures are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish real-world endurance or time to recharge, which can vary with usage, settings and charger.

Performance and software support
Samsung specifies the Exynos 2400, while vivo lists the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Chip names alone do not determine which phone will feel faster in everyday use, stay cooler during long sessions or perform better in a particular game. No benchmark or sustained-load test is available here to support a performance winner.

Samsung states seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the Galaxy S25 FE’s global launch. Vivo’s current India specification page lists OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, but the information compared here does not establish an equivalent long-term update commitment for the V80. Software versions and support terms may vary by market; verify the exact Indian SKU and its update terms before purchase.
Durability and charging extras
Samsung lists IP68 resistance; vivo lists IP68 and IP69. These are manufacturer-stated ratings, not a promise that damage from every kind of water exposure is covered. Samsung also lists wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare, features not listed in the V80 specifications compared here.

Which phone should you choose?
Consider the vivo V80 if
- You value the listed 144Hz, higher-resolution display over a larger screen diagonal.
- A larger stated battery and higher maximum wired-charging specification matter more to you than wireless charging.
- You want the V80’s listed 50MP autofocus front camera or 50MP telephoto hardware, while understanding that sensor resolution does not establish photo quality.
- You are comfortable checking the V80’s live Indian retail price and exact software-support terms after its stated retail start date.
Consider the Galaxy S25 FE if
- You want the larger 6.7-inch display and a specifically stated 3x optical telephoto.
- Wireless charging or Wireless PowerShare is useful to you.
- Samsung’s stated seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates are a priority, subject to checking terms for the exact Indian model.
- You can find the storage variant at a current price that makes sense against the V80; its ₹59,999 128GB figure was the 2025 launch price, not a guaranteed price today.
What to verify before buying in India
- Compare current checkout prices for the same 8GB memory and storage tier, not one phone’s offer price with the other phone’s historical launch price.
- Confirm the exact regional model, software version and update terms on the seller or manufacturer listing.
- Check what is included in the box, especially if you plan to use Samsung’s separately sold 45W adapter.
- Choose based on your priorities in actual screen size, charging options, zoom and software support; the listed specifications do not substitute for hands-on camera or performance comparisons.
