The Galaxy S25 Edge is the thinner, lighter choice; the Galaxy S26+ adds a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera, a larger stated battery capacity and faster wired charging. Both have a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. A current price gap cannot be stated reliably without matching country, storage, seller and date: the available official specifications do not establish comparable current retail prices.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge announcement, Galaxy S26 series announcement and UK Business S26+ specifications provide the listed figures. Display diagonals use the full rectangle; the rounded-corner diagonal is smaller, and the camera opening further reduces the viewable area.

What the differences mean in everyday use

Portability: the S25 Edge is markedly slimmer and lighter

Samsung lists the Edge at 5.8 mm thick and 163 g, versus 7.3 mm and 190 g for the S26+. That is a 1.5 mm thickness and 27 g weight difference in the listed specifications. If minimizing bulk is your main criterion, the S25 Edge has the clear specification advantage.

Zoom: the S26+ has a dedicated telephoto camera

The Edge pairs its 200 MP main camera with an autofocus ultrawide; Samsung’s listed rear-camera system does not include a dedicated telephoto lens. The S26+ adds a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The Edge’s 2x optical-quality zoom is associated with its main camera and is not the same thing as a separate optical telephoto camera. Megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone takes better photos.

Battery and charging: larger capacity is not a runtime test

The listed typical capacities are 3,900 mAh for the Edge and 4,900 mAh for the S26+. These figures describe battery capacity, not how long either phone lasts in a particular person’s use. No direct head-to-head battery-life result is established by the cited sources.

For the S26+, Samsung estimates charging to 69% in around 30 minutes with a 45W adapter. That estimate comes from internal testing of a pre-release phone starting at 0%, with services and features disabled and the screen off; actual results vary. The adapter and cable are sold separately. The cited Edge specification excerpt does not give a charging-adapter wattage for comparison.

Display: similar size and resolution

Chip and regional configurations

Samsung’s US announcement names Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy for the S26+, while Samsung’s regional information notes that the application processor can vary by market. Storage options and availability can also differ by market or carrier, and Samsung notes that the S26+ weight can vary regionally. Check the specifications for the exact country and carrier before buying.

What is the price difference?

No dependable current price difference can be calculated from the cited official specification sources. They do not establish same-market, same-storage current retail prices for both phones. Prices can change with discounts, stock, trade-in offers and carrier terms, so an older launch price or a listing from another country would not answer what the pair costs today where you live.

For a useful comparison, check both models in the same country and on the same date, matching storage capacity, device condition, carrier lock status, warranty and promotion terms. Compare the final payable price after any trade-in or bill-credit conditions, rather than treating a conditional offer as the standard price.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Choose the Galaxy S25 Edge if a thin, light chassis is your priority and you prefer its 200 MP main-camera specification to having a dedicated optical telephoto lens. Its lower listed battery capacity is a trade-off.
  • Choose the Galaxy S26+ if you want a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera, a larger stated battery capacity or Samsung’s specified 45W wired charging, and are willing to carry a thicker, heavier phone.
  • Let local pricing decide if cost is the deciding factor. Compare equivalent storage and purchase terms; the specifications alone do not identify a price winner.

These are manufacturer specifications and a manufacturer charging estimate, not independent benchmark results or a hands-on verdict. The available figures support a choice based on design and listed hardware, but not a claim that one is the overall performance or battery-life winner.
