OPPO listed the Reno16 at ₹66,999 for 8 GB + 256 GB and ₹72,999 for 12 GB + 256 GB, inclusive of taxes, as of 31 August 2026. Specifications are manufacturer-published figures, not independent test results. In particular, the S25 Edge’s “2× optical-quality” zoom is Samsung’s description of its main-camera zoom; it is not a separate telephoto camera. Camera megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality, and battery capacity does not predict a specific runtime.

What the differences mean in everyday use
Choose the S25 Edge for a thinner build and larger display
At 5.8 mm and 163 g, Samsung’s phone is substantially thinner and lighter on the published figures than the India Reno16, which is 8.2–8.4 mm thick and 182–193 g. Samsung also lists the larger panel and higher QHD+ resolution. Both phones specify refresh rates up to 120 Hz, so the stated maximum refresh rate does not distinguish them.

Choose the Reno16 for a dedicated optical telephoto and high-resolution selfie camera
The Reno16’s rear setup includes a separate 50 MP telephoto camera with 3.5× optical zoom, alongside its main and ultra-wide cameras. The S25 Edge instead combines a 200 MP main camera with 2× optical-quality zoom and a 12 MP ultra-wide; that wording should not be read as a dedicated telephoto lens. OPPO also lists a 50 MP autofocus front camera, versus Samsung’s 12 MP front camera. These configurations describe hardware, not which phone takes better pictures.
Compare battery and charging figures without assuming endurance
OPPO lists a 6,700 mAh typical battery and 80 W charging for the India Reno16; Samsung lists a 3,900 mAh typical battery and says its 25 W adapter can charge the S25 Edge to up to 55% in around 30 minutes. The larger capacity and higher charging wattage are specification advantages for OPPO, but they do not establish real-world battery life or a head-to-head charging time.

Account for storage and connectivity needs
The S25 Edge has 12 GB RAM and offers 256 GB or 512 GB storage, with options varying by market. The India Reno16 has 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, without memory-card expansion. OPPO explicitly says the India Reno16 lacks NFC and eSIM; check whether those features matter before buying. Confirm local cellular bands, warranty terms and the exact regional model for either phone, since the listed specifications do not settle every market-specific detail.

A retailer discount, trade-in offer or different storage tier can change the practical gap.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which phone fits your priorities?
- Favor the Galaxy S25 Edge if minimum thickness and weight, a larger QHD+ screen, a titanium frame or the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy are high priorities.
- Favor the India Reno16 5G if you want a dedicated 3.5× optical telephoto, a 50 MP autofocus selfie camera, higher listed battery capacity, faster stated wired charging or the included charger noted by OPPO.
- Decide by local price and requirements if neither feature set is an obvious fit: verify exact model, storage, NFC/eSIM, network-band compatibility and warranty where you plan to buy.
The available specifications do not establish which phone is faster in real use, lasts longer per charge, takes better photos or is more durable under everyday conditions. Those judgments require comparable independent testing.

Verify the OPPO model before buying
OPPO India distinguishes the Reno16 5G, CPH2865, from the Reno16c 5G, CPH2859, and says other countries may sell Reno16-series models with different specifications and prices. OPPO Global also notes that pricing, regional availability and release timing vary by market. A Reno16 name on a listing is not enough to confirm that it matches the India phone in this comparison.
