The Galaxy S25 Edge is the slimmer, lighter choice; the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the more versatile camera phone and the one with an integrated S Pen. Samsung lists the Edge at 5.8 mm thick and 163 g, with a 6.7-inch display and two rear cameras. The Ultra has a 6.8-inch display, four rear cameras including dedicated 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, and a 5,000 mAh typical battery. Which is better depends on whether you value a lighter design or more camera and pen options—and prices need to be compared by storage, condition, and offer terms.

Which phone is slimmer and easier to carry?
Galaxy S25 Edge: the documented slim, light option
Samsung lists the S25 Edge at 5.8 mm thick and 163 g. The company calls it “our slimmest S Series phone yet”; that is Samsung’s product positioning, while the dimensions and weight are the published specifications. Its display measures 6.7 inches.

The S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch display. The cited S24 comparison source does not provide its thickness or weight, so the available figures establish the Edge’s measurements but do not support a numeric weight or thickness comparison here. If comfort is the deciding factor, try each model in hand rather than treating screen size as a substitute for feel.

Which has the more flexible camera system?
S24 Ultra: dedicated telephoto choices
Samsung’s S24 comparison lists four rear cameras: a 200 MP wide camera, 12 MP ultra-wide, 10 MP 3x telephoto, and 50 MP 5x telephoto. Those separate telephoto cameras give the Ultra more dedicated focal-length options for framing distant subjects.
S25 Edge: two cameras and a shorter zoom range
The Edge specification lists 200 MP and 12 MP rear cameras, 2x optical-quality zoom, and digital zoom up to 10x. The Ultra’s “up to 100x Space Zoom” headline is not a promise of optical magnification or comparable detail at that level. Nor does the Edge’s 200 MP main-camera figure by itself establish better image quality: megapixel count is only one specification, and these listed figures do not constitute a side-by-side image test.

Does the S Pen make the S24 Ultra worth choosing?
The S24 Ultra has an integrated S Pen. Samsung describes using it to take notes and write messages or emails. If you expect to write or draw directly on your phone, that built-in tool is a meaningful distinction. The cited S25 Edge specifications do not identify an integrated S Pen.
What do the battery specifications tell you?
Samsung lists a typical battery capacity of 5,000 mAh for the S24 Ultra and 3,900 mAh for the S25 Edge. The Edge product page separately claims up to 24 hours of video playback, but that is not a comparable cross-model test. Battery capacity and a playback-duration claim are different measures; these figures alone do not establish which phone lasts longer in your own use.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S25 Edge if a 5.8 mm, 163 g design is your priority and two rear cameras with up to 10x digital zoom meet your needs.
- Choose the Galaxy S24 Ultra if you want dedicated 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, a broader set of rear-camera options, or an integrated S Pen.
- Compare battery life cautiously: the Ultra has the larger listed typical capacity, but the cited figures do not show a controlled, direct runtime comparison.
- Judge the price on matching terms: align storage, new versus renewed condition, unlocked or carrier version, and trade-in or promotional requirements.
