The Galaxy S24 FE is the better fit if you want a dedicated 3× optical telephoto camera or wireless charging. The Galaxy A57 5G is lighter, has a larger stated battery, advertises faster wired charging and launched at a lower US starting price. Neither is a universal winner: compare today’s local prices and choose according to the features you will use.
How much cheaper was the Galaxy A57 at launch?
Samsung’s US launch prices put the Galaxy A57 5G at $549.99, with availability beginning April 9, 2026. Samsung announced the Galaxy S24 FE at $649.99 in 2024. That is a $100 difference between their US launch starting prices—not a guarantee that the A57 currently costs $100 less. Samsung’s A57 announcement and its S24 FE announcement give those historical figures.

For a current US reference, Samsung Electronics America’s March 2026 price list gives the unlocked S24 FE an MSRP of $649.99 for 8GB/128GB and $709.99 for 8GB/256GB; Samsung says prices may change without notice. Retail prices vary by date, seller, market and configuration, so compare like-for-like offers rather than treating either launch price as today’s price. Which phone has the better camera setup?
Choose the S24 FE for optical zoom
The S24 FE adds an 8MP telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom and optical image stabilization. That dedicated lens gives it a clear hardware advantage when you want to frame a more distant subject without relying only on digital cropping.
The A57 substitutes a macro camera
The A57 has a 5MP macro camera instead of a telephoto lens. Macro and telephoto cameras serve different purposes: macro is for close-up subjects, while telephoto provides optical reach. Both phones list a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide, but those matching headline resolutions do not establish that their photos look identical. The A57’s higher 12MP selfie-camera figure versus the S24 FE’s 10MP also does not, by itself, determine selfie quality.

- The Galaxy S24 FE packs a large 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, enhanced brightness and a “Vision Booster” mode — ideal for clear, bright visuals even outdoors.
Which one lasts longer or charges faster?
Samsung lists a typical capacity of 5,000mAh for the A57 and 4,700mAh for the S24 FE. Capacity alone does not tell you which phone lasts longer in everyday use; the cited manufacturer information does not provide a same-condition independent battery test for the two.
Samsung advertises the A57 reaching up to 60% in around 30 minutes with Super Fast Charging 2.0. For the S24 FE, Samsung says a 25W adapter can charge it to around 50% in 30 minutes under its stated lab conditions. These are different vendor claims, not a head-to-head test. Samsung says the charging adapters are sold separately for both models. The S24 FE also supports wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare; the A57’s listed charging advantage is wired. Details are in Samsung’s A57 specifications and S24 FE specifications.

Which phone is easier to carry?
Samsung lists the A57 at 179g and 6.9mm thick, compared with 213g and 8.0mm for the S24 FE. The A57 is 34g lighter and 1.1mm thinner by those published figures. Both are similarly sized in height and width, so the A57’s most notable physical difference is its lower weight and slimmer profile.
How do the screens and processors compare?
Both phones have 6.7-inch FHD+ displays with refresh rates reaching 120Hz. Samsung calls the S24 FE panel Dynamic AMOLED 2X and lists adaptive 60/120Hz; the A57 uses a Super AMOLED+ panel with up to 120Hz. The names and specifications do not establish a visible quality winner on their own.
Rank #4
The S24 FE uses Samsung’s Exynos 2400e. PhoneArena identifies the A57’s processor as Exynos 1680. The chip names alone cannot predict the experience for a particular person or app. PhoneArena’s published Geekbench 6 comparison reports 2,153 single-core and 6,631 multi-core for the S24 FE, versus 1,370 and 4,050 for the A57; its 3DMark figures are 3,861 high / 2,435 low for the S24 FE and 1,737 high / 1,718 low for the A57. These are PhoneArena comparison results, not Samsung figures or guarantees of performance in every workload. PhoneArena comparison.

Samsung says the A57 will receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. Samsung UK lists the security-update period for its A57 model as valid until March 31, 2032. That specific end date is regional, so check the support terms for the model sold where you live. The available S24 FE information does not establish its commitment in a directly comparable form; check Samsung’s policy for your region before choosing on support alone. Software versions also change over time and may vary by region and updates. Those announcement-era versions should not be mistaken for the software currently installed on every device.

Before paying, compare the same country, storage capacity, seller, warranty and unlocked or carrier status. Samsung’s US S24 FE price list shows that storage alone changes its MSRP; a difference between mismatched configurations is not a clean comparison of the phones.
