The Motorola Edge 60 Pro has the larger, sharper display, a higher-capacity battery and faster listed wired charging. The Samsung Galaxy S24 5G is much smaller and lighter, and Samsung announced a longer software-support commitment. Neither is an automatic winner: the right choice depends on whether you value size, battery specifications, or long-term updates—and current India prices need to be checked on the same date and storage tier.

Specifications are manufacturer-published claims, not results from a controlled comparison. Screen size and resolution indicate that the Motorola offers more display area and pixels; they do not by themselves establish which screen looks better. Likewise, lens counts and megapixels cannot settle photo quality.

Which phone has the better display?
The Edge 60 Pro is the clear choice on paper if you want a larger screen or higher resolution: its 6.7-inch, 2712 × 1220 panel is larger and has more pixels than the S24’s 6.2-inch, 2340 × 1080 screen. Both are listed with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Samsung specifies Dynamic AMOLED 2X, while Motorola specifies pOLED. These labels and resolution figures are not a substitute for direct viewing; the available specifications do not establish a real-world winner for brightness, color, or outdoor visibility.

Motorola lists a 6,000 mAh battery, 90 W wired charging, 15 W wireless charging and 5 W wired power sharing. Samsung lists a 4,000 mAh typical battery, and its India launch material specifies wired charging up to 25 W with an appropriate adapter. Those figures give the Edge 60 Pro the stronger stated capacity and wired-charging specifications, but they do not prove how long either phone lasts or how quickly it charges in everyday use. Actual results depend on usage and conditions. Samsung’s India product page says a travel adapter is not included.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
How do the cameras compare?
Both phones have a dedicated telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The S24’s listed rear setup is 50 MP main, 10 MP telephoto and 12 MP ultrawide; Motorola lists 50 MP main, 10 MP telephoto and 50 MP ultrawide. The Edge 60 Pro therefore has a higher stated ultrawide resolution, but megapixels alone do not show which camera produces better photographs. Sensor characteristics, stabilization, image processing and software also matter. No controlled comparison or sample-based evidence here establishes a definitive camera winner.
Which phone is easier to carry?
The Galaxy S24 measures 147.0 × 70.6 × 7.6 mm and weighs 167 g; the Edge 60 Pro measures 160.69 × 73.06 × 8.24 mm and weighs 186 g. On the published figures, the S24 is 19 g lighter and notably shorter and narrower, making it the better fit to consider if pocketability and one-handed handling matter. The Motorola’s larger screen comes with a larger, heavier body.
Rank #2
- 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh and a peak brightness of ~2,600 nits — giving a noticeably sharper, brighter screen than the base S24.
Which phone has longer software support?
Samsung announced seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the Galaxy S24 series. Motorola’s India product page lists three OS upgrades and four years of security maintenance releases for the Edge 60 Pro. Samsung’s stated commitment is longer on these published terms. The figures describe announced support policies; they do not specify identical delivery dates or update cadence across regions.
What is the price difference in India?
The available official figures are not a like-for-like current price comparison. Samsung Newsroom India’s January 2024 launch announcement lists a maximum operating price (MOP) of ₹79,999 for the S24 8 GB/256 GB and ₹89,999 for 8 GB/512 GB. Motorola India’s product page, accessed on 4 October 2026, displayed ₹33,999 against an MRP of ₹40,999 for a selected Edge 60 Pro listing and marked it “Currently out of stock.” The dates, configurations and price bases differ, so these numbers cannot establish how much one phone currently costs more than the other.
Rank #3
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
For a meaningful price difference, compare both phones on the same day, from sellers with comparable warranty terms, and at the same storage capacity. Record whether each figure is an MRP, a sale price or a bank offer; availability and variant pricing can change. The official price references are Samsung’s January 2024 launch announcement and Motorola India’s Edge 60 Pro listing.

Choose the Galaxy S24 if
- You want a smaller, lighter phone based on the published dimensions and weight.
- Samsung’s announced seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates are a priority.
- You prefer the S24’s listed camera layout, while recognizing that specifications alone do not prove better image quality.
Choose the Edge 60 Pro if
- You want a larger, higher-resolution display on paper.
- Its 6,000 mAh battery and higher stated wired-charging rate are more appealing to you than the S24’s listed figures.
- You want a 50 MP ultrawide camera by specification, without treating megapixels as a photo-quality verdict.
Before buying, confirm the exact RAM and storage variant, current stock, seller warranty and same-day price. If camera quality or battery life is decisive, seek independent photo samples or controlled endurance testing for the specific models rather than relying on specification labels alone.
