The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE 5G still offers a premium-style feature set, including three rear cameras, wireless charging, IPX8 water resistance and Samsung DeX. Its main drawbacks are more consequential for some buyers: battery life and sustained performance drew criticism in reviews, wired charging tops out at 25W, and the processor differs by market. It is worth considering only if its current local price, warranty and remaining software support compare well with newer alternatives.
What the Galaxy S23 FE offers
Samsung’s US business specifications describe a 6.4-inch display (6.3 inches when measured with rounded corners), an aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass 5 and an IPX8 water-resistance rating. The phone launched with Android 13 and has 8GB of RAM, with 128GB or 256GB of storage. Those are specifications, not guarantees against damage or evidence of display or camera quality. The US sheet also lists 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, eSIM, UWB, stereo speakers and Samsung DeX. Wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare are features in Samsung’s product materials; check the specification for the specific regional model before relying on feature availability. The S23 FE does not support the S Pen, according to Samsung’s US sheet.

Which S23 FE version are you buying?
The processor is not the same in every market. Samsung’s US business sheet specifies the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while Samsung Brazil’s product listing identifies the Exynos 2200. No controlled, same-software-build comparison of these variants is established here, so a performance, heat or battery observation from one should not be treated as a result for both.

Before buying, confirm the processor listed for the exact model and market, then look for reviews of that variant. This matters especially if you play demanding games, record video for long stretches or depend on all-day battery endurance: workload and chipset can affect those experiences.
Camera review: useful reach, but specs are not image tests
The rear camera system consists of a 50MP main camera (f/1.8), a 12MP ultrawide (f/2.2) and an 8MP telephoto (f/2.4); the front camera is 10MP (f/2.4), according to Samsung’s US sheet. The dedicated telephoto gives you an optical camera option for distant subjects rather than relying only on cropping or digital zoom. Megapixel counts and lens specifications alone, however, do not establish how images look in different lighting or how well video performs.

- The S23 FE offers a 6.4‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 1,450 nits peak brightness plus a wide DCI‑P3 color gamut. That means vibrant, high‑contrast visuals that stay bright and legible even outdoors.
Reviews praised the feature-rich camera and software package, but treat that as reviewer assessment rather than a promise that every shot will match a particular result. For a purchase decision, compare sample photos and video from the same regional variant where possible, especially if low-light shots, moving subjects or zoom are priorities.
Battery and charging: capacity is not endurance
Samsung lists a 4,500mAh battery for the US model. That is a manufacturer-rated capacity, not an independently measured runtime. Independent coverage raised battery-life concerns, but no single review result can guarantee how long your phone will last: processor variant, signal strength, screen settings and workload all matter.

Wired charging is rated at 25W. Samsung Newsroom Philippines claimed a 50% charge in 30 minutes using a 25W adapter; that is Samsung’s launch claim, not an independent test result. A 91mobiles review reported that its market’s retail box did not include the adapter, so check the contents of the specific local package rather than assuming a charger is supplied. Samsung Newsroom Philippines launch announcement.
Software support and features
Review coverage described Samsung’s launch commitment as four Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches. That is a launch-era promise, not confirmation of the phone’s current software version or patch level. Before buying an older handset, check Samsung’s current update information for your region and confirm the installed version and security-patch date on the actual device.

Samsung DeX, wireless charging and PowerShare may be meaningful advantages if you already use Samsung devices or accessories. Their value depends on your habits: DeX is useful for people who want a desktop-style interface on a compatible display, while wireless charging is convenient but does not change the 25W wired charging limit.

Should you buy the Galaxy S23 FE?
There is no reliable universal price verdict without your local offer: current street prices, stock and warranty terms are not established here. TechRadar reports historical launch prices of US$599.99, £599 and AU$899; those are launch figures, not present-day prices. TechRadar’s Galaxy S23 FE review.

Consider it if a reputable local seller offers the model at a clearly attractive price, the regional processor suits your needs, and the camera mix and Samsung features matter more to you than faster charging or the strongest sustained performance. Compare it with phones available at the same price by checking remaining update support, battery and charging, camera quality across all lenses, water resistance, storage and warranty. Skip it if the price is close to a newer model with better support or if battery endurance and demanding sustained workloads are your top priorities.
