Performance, RAM and storage
The X300 FE has the newer stated chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 versus Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the S22. It also offers 8GB or 12GB RAM and storage choices of 256GB or 512GB; the comparison page lists the S22 with 8GB RAM. On paper, that gives the vivo an advantage in platform generation and configuration choice. It does not prove how either phone performs in a particular game or how well it sustains speed during extended workloads. The available comparison’s benchmark figures do not come with a clear independent matched-device test methodology, so they are not a sound basis for a definitive performance verdict.

Display and size
The S22 is the more compact option at 6.1 inches, with a listed resolution of 1080 × 2340. The X300 FE’s 6.31-inch AMOLED panel is specified at 1216 × 2640. Both are listed at 120Hz. Those measurements establish a size and resolution difference, not which screen looks better in person.
Camera hardware
The S22 combines a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto with up to 3× optical zoom. The X300 FE combines a 50MP AF/OIS main camera, 50MP OIS telephoto, 8MP fixed-focus wide-angle camera and 50MP AF front camera; 91mobiles lists up to 3× optical zoom for its telephoto as well.

The practical distinction is the lens mix: the S22 has a higher-resolution ultrawide specification, while the vivo lists a higher-resolution telephoto and front camera and specifies stabilization on its main and telephoto cameras. Megapixel counts and stabilization specifications do not establish image quality; sensor processing, lens performance and shooting conditions matter too.
Battery and charging
The listed capacities are 3,700mAh for the S22 and 6,500mAh typical, 6,350mAh rated minimum, for the X300 FE. vivo lists up to 90W FlashCharge; reaching that maximum requires the original charger and cable, and charging power adjusts dynamically during use. The comparison page lists 25W wired charging for the S22. Capacity and maximum charging power are specifications, not controlled battery-life or charging-time results, so they do not promise a particular runtime or top-up time.

What is the price difference in India?
The India-facing listings accessed on October 4, 2026 do not produce one synchronized, like-for-like price comparison:

On the two 91mobiles retailer snapshots, the displayed X300 FE price is ₹3,996 higher than the S22 price. Comparing the vivo India store’s selected 12GB/256GB price with the 91mobiles S22 figure instead gives a ₹9,000 difference, but that mixes a manufacturer-store configuration and price context with a separate retailer snapshot. Neither gap should be treated as a current universal premium. Check the live listing for the exact storage, seller, condition, stock and offer before buying; the cited comparison does not provide a contemporaneous Samsung manufacturer-store price.

Software support and buying an older Galaxy S22
91mobiles reports Android 12 at the S22’s launch and Android 16 for the X300 FE, and lists four years of OS updates plus five years of security updates for the S22, versus five and seven years respectively for the X300 FE. These are secondary-source update-duration claims, not confirmation of how much support remains for a specific device today. Support can depend on the regional model and its update timeline, so verify current manufacturer information for the exact India model before using remaining support as a deciding factor.

The S22’s listed launch date is February 25, 2022, several years before the X300 FE’s listed May 6, 2026 date. An S22 offered now may be old stock, used or refurbished. Confirm the seller, device condition, warranty and regional variant rather than assuming every listing is a new, locally supported phone.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the X300 FE on specifications if you want the newer listed chipset, more RAM/storage configurations, a slightly larger and higher-resolution display, higher listed battery capacity, or the specified 50MP telephoto and front cameras.
- Consider the Galaxy S22 if a smaller 6.1-inch phone is the priority or you value its listed 12MP ultrawide camera. At its current age, make the decision only after checking the actual device condition, seller and support status.
- Compare live, like-for-like prices for the same market and storage configuration. The available India snapshots are from different retail contexts and do not establish a stable price gap.
For either model, specifications alone cannot settle real-world photo quality, battery endurance or sustained performance. Those require controlled testing of the devices themselves.
