The Galaxy M56 is the newer, thinner option, with an Exynos 1480 processor, a 12MP selfie camera and Samsung’s stated plan for six Android OS upgrades. The Galaxy F55 5G stands out for its 50MP front camera, vegan-leather finish and stereo support. Neither is the automatic choice for everyone—and an accurate current price difference requires comparing the same storage variant at Indian retailers, not using the F55’s old launch prices.
Price difference in India: compare live, like-for-like offers
There is no reliable current price delta in the available Samsung India information. Samsung’s F55 launch announcement on 27 May 2024 listed launch prices, while Samsung’s M56 feature material describes the phone as under ₹30,000 without giving a current, variant-specific selling price. The M56 India buy page has shown “Not for sale” alongside inconsistent localized price fragments. Those pages do not support a fair current-price subtraction.

Keep the listed price separate from exchange value, bank offers and other conditional discounts; those can change the effective amount without changing the underlying comparison.

Processor and software support: newer platform versus longer stated OS plan
The M56 uses Samsung’s Exynos 1480, while the F55 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The chip names alone do not establish which phone is faster in real-world use: the cited Samsung material does not provide a directly comparable independent benchmark. Choose based on the apps and features you need, and consult comparable testing if processor performance is decisive.
On stated OS-upgrade plans, Samsung’s M56 feature page says six OS upgrades. For the F55, Samsung announced four Android generation upgrades plus five years of security updates. These are not identical measures: the F55 announcement gives both an Android-upgrade count and a security-update period, while the M56 page’s six-upgrade statement concerns OS upgrades. Samsung qualifies its update information as a current plan, not a commitment, so check Samsung’s latest support information before relying on a long-term update schedule.

Cameras: choose based on the shots you take
The clearest listed front-camera difference is resolution: the F55 has a 50MP selfie camera, versus 12MP on the M56. Samsung’s M56 material also notes 4K HDR for the front camera. A higher megapixel count does not, by itself, prove better photos or video; the cited sources provide no hands-on comparison of image quality.
For rear cameras, Samsung lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) on the M56, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro. The F55 is listed with a 50MP, 8MP and 2MP rear-camera setup. OIS is a listed M56 main-camera feature, but that specification alone is not a comparative image-quality test. Consider the F55 if selfie-camera resolution is your priority; consider the M56 if the stated front-camera 4K HDR feature or its listed rear-camera OIS matters more to your use.

Display, design and media
Both phones have 120Hz Super AMOLED Plus displays. Samsung’s full-rectangle measurement is 17.11cm for the M56 and 16.95cm for the F55, making the M56’s listed diagonal slightly larger. The F55 has a 1080 × 2400 resolution; the M56 is 1080 × 2340. The M56 is also 0.6mm thinner by Samsung’s stated dimensions, while both are listed at 180g.
The material choice is more subjective: the F55 has a vegan-leather finish, while Samsung describes Gorilla Glass Victus protection on both sides of the M56. These descriptions do not establish which phone is more durable in a drop or over time. For sound, Samsung’s F55 specification page lists stereo support; the cited M56 specification page does not list it.

Battery and charging
Samsung rates both phones at 5000mAh typical and lists 45W charging support. Capacity is not a promised runtime: battery life depends on usage, network conditions and other factors. Samsung explicitly says the M56’s 45W charger is sold separately. For the F55, verify adapter inclusion with the retailer and the exact box contents before buying.

Choose the Galaxy F55 5G if

- You prefer its vegan-leather finish or want stereo support listed in Samsung’s specifications.
- You find a better live price for the same RAM and storage tier, after separating conditional offers from the straightforward selling price.
Samsung’s hardware and support descriptions are manufacturer claims; the cited pages do not establish independent performance, battery-runtime or camera-test results. Check current Indian listings and exact configuration before deciding on price.
