The Galaxy M56 and Galaxy A27 5G share a 6.7-inch-class FHD+ 120 Hz display and a 5,000 mAh typical battery, but they differ in weight, camera hardware and support dates. Samsung India’s A27 store page lists prices, while the available M56 page does not show a usable current selling price—so a reliable current India price gap cannot be stated. The M56 is the lighter option on paper; the A27 has the later listed security-update end date.

Specifications are from Samsung India product pages for both phones and Samsung Electronics’ 2026 First Quarter Interim Report for the M56 support commitment. The later A27 launch date does not by itself demonstrate better measured performance.

What the price information means in India
Samsung India’s A27 purchase page displayed ₹33,999 for 6 GB/128 GB and ₹38,999 for 8 GB/128 GB when retrieved in October 2026. These are page prices for specific configurations at that time; store prices and offers can change. Samsung Newsroom India’s June 30, 2026 launch headline cited ₹28,999, a separate launch-price context rather than a guaranteed current selling price.

Which phone has the better specification fit?
Choose the M56 if lower weight matters most
At 180 g and 7.2 mm, the M56 is 20 g lighter and 0.6 mm thinner than the A27 on Samsung’s listed specifications. Its display is described as Super AMOLED Plus, while the A27 is listed as Super AMOLED. Those are specification distinctions, not proof of a visible quality advantage under all viewing conditions.
Consider the A27 for OIS and its listed support end date
The A27’s 50 MP main camera is listed with optical image stabilization (OIS); Samsung’s M56 camera specification lists a 50 MP main camera but does not list OIS there. OIS can help counter small movements, but the camera specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos. The A27 also has the later listed security-update period end date: July 31, 2032, compared with December 31, 2030 for the M56.

Do not choose by chipset name alone
Samsung lists Exynos 1480 for the M56 and Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 for the A27. The specifications establish which processors are used, but no controlled, matching benchmark results or comparative performance measurements are established here. Likewise, the shared 5,000 mAh typical capacity does not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use; matching battery-endurance tests are not available.
Camera and display differences: what the numbers do and do not say
The M56 lists 8 MP and 2 MP secondary rear cameras alongside its 50 MP main camera. The A27 lists 5 MP and 2 MP secondary cameras, and specifies OIS on its 50 MP main camera. The listed resolution of an ultrawide or secondary camera does not, by itself, determine image quality, and megapixel totals are not a sound basis for declaring a camera winner.

Both phones are listed with 6.7-inch-class FHD+ displays and 120 Hz refresh rates. The panel names differ—Super AMOLED Plus for the M56 and Super AMOLED for the A27—but Samsung’s specifications do not provide a controlled comparison of brightness, color accuracy or outdoor legibility. Treat the shared size, resolution class and refresh rate as the clearest directly comparable display facts.

Samsung’s 2026 First Quarter Interim Report lists six OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the M56. Samsung India describes the A27 as eligible for up to six OS upgrades and up to six years of security and maintenance releases, and its product page gives a security update period ending July 31, 2032. The M56 product page gives December 31, 2030. These are Samsung’s stated support commitments and listed period endpoints, not a guarantee that both devices receive every update on the same day.

Check the box contents for your region
Samsung’s US A27 package page says the box contains the phone, a data cable and an ejection pin, and excludes a charger. That information applies to the US package listing only; it does not establish India’s A27 contents or the M56’s package contents. Confirm the box contents for the exact Indian model and seller. If a charger is not included, verify USB-C charger compatibility before purchasing; check cases and screen protectors for exact model fit.
