The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G and vivo X300 FE sit in very different price tiers in the available India-market price evidence. Samsung announced the M36 at introductory prices from ₹16,499 in June 2025; the vivo India e-store displayed ₹94,999 for the X300 FE 12GB+256GB configuration when checked in 2026. Those figures come from different dates and pricing contexts, so they are not a like-for-like current price comparison. On specifications, vivo lists a smaller display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, dedicated telephoto camera, larger battery and 90W charging; Samsung offers a larger 120Hz display and an explicit software-update commitment.

Specifications are manufacturer-published, not results from comparative performance, camera or battery testing. Samsung lists microSD support up to 2TB for a product-page configuration, through a hybrid SIM/microSD slot. The vivo store page does not state a comparable software-support duration.

India price difference: why the figures need context
Samsung Galaxy M36 5G launch prices
Samsung’s 30 June 2025 India launch announcement listed the M36 at ₹16,499 for 6GB+128GB, including a stated ₹1,000 instant bank discount; ₹17,999 for 8GB+128GB; and ₹20,999 for 8GB+256GB. Samsung said sales would begin on 12 July 2025 through Samsung.com, Amazon and selected retail stores. These are launch-period prices, not a verified current street-price list.

vivo X300 FE store price
The vivo India e-store page retrieved in 2026 displayed ₹94,999 for the selected 12GB+256GB X300 FE, against an MRP of ₹119,999. The page also showed other configurations, and its product listing displayed a lower price for an 8GB+256GB option. Store prices can change with offers, stock and variant selection.

Subtracting ₹20,999 for the M36 8GB+256GB launch price from ₹94,999 for the vivo 12GB+256GB displayed store price gives ₹74,000. That arithmetic compares different memory configurations and different price dates, so it should not be read as the current price gap. Check both phones’ same-day prices for the same RAM and storage tier before buying.
How the displays differ
The M36 has the larger panel at 6.7 inches and Samsung explicitly lists a 120Hz refresh rate. The X300 FE’s 6.31-inch AMOLED is more compact and has the higher listed pixel resolution at 2640×1216, compared with the M36’s 1080×2340. These figures describe panel size, resolution and the stated refresh rate; they do not establish which screen looks better in person.

Samsung specifies an Exynos 1380 built on a 5nm process; vivo lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The processor names alone are not a measured comparison of speed, sustained performance or gaming results, and no independent benchmark figures are established here.

The vivo’s listed rear setup includes a dedicated 50MP telephoto camera with OIS and a 50MP autofocus main camera with OIS, alongside an 8MP fixed-focus wide-angle camera. The M36 uses a 50MP main camera with OIS plus 8MP and 2MP rear cameras. Samsung lists 4K recording for both its front and rear cameras. For selfies, Samsung lists a 13MP front camera and vivo a 50MP autofocus front camera. Megapixel counts and camera hardware do not by themselves demonstrate comparative photo or video quality.

Battery capacity, charging and software support
vivo lists a 6,500mAh typical battery capacity and 6,350mAh rated minimum for the X300 FE, against the M36’s 5,000mAh typical capacity. vivo specifies up to 90W FlashCharge when using the original charger and cable, with charging dynamically adjusted according to usage conditions; Samsung lists 25W charging. Capacity and rated charging power do not establish actual battery life or charge time.
Samsung launched the M36 with One UI 7 and states six generations of Android upgrades plus six years of security updates. Its product page lists security support through 31 December 2031 and says its support information reflects plans rather than a commitment. vivo lists OriginOS 6 on the inspected product page, which does not give a comparable support-duration promise.

Which phone fits your priorities?
- Consider the M36 if the lower launch-price tier, larger display, explicitly listed 120Hz refresh rate, microSD expansion on the specified configuration, or Samsung’s published update plan matters most.
- Consider the X300 FE if you prefer a smaller display, want the listed telephoto camera and OIS on both main and telephoto cameras, or prioritize the higher stated battery capacity and charging rate.
- Compare exact variants before deciding: the launch and store figures above are not same-date prices, and storage options differ. Use current prices for matching RAM/storage configurations rather than treating the quoted ₹74,000 subtraction as a live comparison.
