Which phone has the better display?
The Galaxy M36 lists the higher-resolution panel: FHD+ at 1080 × 2340 on a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen. The realme 15x is slightly larger at 6.8 inches and lists a faster maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, but its resolution is HD+ at 1570 × 720. In practical terms, choose the M36 on the listed specifications if fine detail and AMOLED matter more; choose the 15x if you value the larger screen and higher refresh-rate ceiling. The numbers alone do not establish brightness, color accuracy or how smooth either phone feels in every app.

realme lists a 7000mAh typical battery (6820mAh minimum) and 60W SUPERVOOC charging, compared with the M36’s 5000mAh typical battery and 25W charging stated in Samsung’s launch announcement. These capacity and charging specifications favor realme, but they do not prove a specific screen-on time or time-to-full-charge; comparable runtime and charging tests are not established here.

The M36 is also listed as thinner and lighter: 7.7mm and 197g versus approximately 8.28mm and 212g for the realme. The realme dimensions and weight are approximate and subject to the manufacturer’s stated tolerance.
Cameras: compare the hardware, not just megapixels
Samsung lists a triple rear-camera system (50MP, 8MP and 2MP) and optical image stabilization on the M36. realme lists a 50MP Sony IMX852 main rear camera. For selfies, the realme’s listed 50MP front sensor has higher resolution than the M36’s 13MP front camera. Megapixel counts and hardware listings do not establish which phone takes better photos or video; no comparative image-quality testing is available here.

Software and updates
Samsung’s 2025-06-30 launch announcement specifies One UI 7 and a commitment of six generations of Android upgrades plus six years of security updates for the Galaxy M36. realme lists realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15 for the 15x, but the retrieved specification page gives no comparable support-duration commitment. That omission is not evidence that realme provides no updates; it means a duration cannot be compared from these listed sources.

Price difference: compare the same storage tier
There is no reliable single price gap to apply to every buyer: launch prices, current offers, stock and storage configurations differ. The figures below are India-specific and refer to different dates and variants, so they should not be treated as a like-for-like current comparison.

- Current listing snapshots: the Samsung buy-page search result showed an entry price from ₹21,999 for the 6GB/128GB model, while the realme India Store displayed ₹27,999 for a selected 8GB+256GB realme 15x listing when retrieved. Those amounts are for different configurations and may change with offers and stock. Check the realme India Store listing and Samsung’s local buy page for live availability.
For a useful price comparison, check the same RAM and storage tier at the same time, then account for bank discounts and seller offers. Third-party listings can be useful snapshots, but are not a dependable substitute for a live seller price; for example, a Smartprix 8GB+128GB comparison listing may change.
Performance: what the listed processors do and do not tell you
realme identifies the 15x processor as a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 with a maximum listed speed of 2.4GHz. Samsung’s retrieved M36 specification page gives octa-core CPU speeds of 2.4GHz and 2.0GHz but does not identify the chipset in the cited page. Clock speeds alone are insufficient for a sound speed comparison, and no reliable comparative benchmark or testing result is established here. Do not choose between them on a claimed performance ranking based on these figures.

Which one should you buy?
- Choose the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G if your priorities are FHD+ resolution, a Super AMOLED display, lower listed weight, an 8MP ultrawide camera alongside the main camera, or Samsung’s explicitly stated upgrade and security-support duration.
- Choose the realme 15x 5G if you prioritize the larger listed battery, faster listed charging, a 144Hz refresh-rate ceiling, or a 50MP front-camera specification.
- Compare price before deciding if value is your main concern: match RAM and storage, check current local stock and offers, and avoid treating launch pricing or a different storage tier as today’s like-for-like price.
